I guess I should be careful with Prime. And yes, I manage to get Revoltech Prime and Revy. Prime is great, but as someone here said (I forgot who),the shoulders is surprisingly Revolver Joint-less. I wonder why they did not do it as they did with Revoltech Megatron which was released later. Heh. Revy's sexy sculpt is great, though a bit limited due to less Revolver joints, which is understandable, as having those joints on her hips and shoulders(skin showing and all) will look fugly. But kudos to Yamaguchi(the sculptor) and gang for making her still highly posable with limited R-joints. I have to admit it takes some work to make some of the stylo-milo poses that I wanted with her, while Prime was easier to deal with. But in the end, I'm a very happy man... Don't look at me like that. >.> Two questions: The revoltechs are made of PVC, or other materials? Because I MIGHT wanna mod her into one of my original characters(which I need my friend for...). AND I saw in one Hobby Japan mag pics of the Revolver joints in small packages and various colors. Where do I find these online? Would like to have some extra joints. And more Revoltech wishes: How about some GunXSword and Full Metal Panic figures? And it wouldn't hurt to have some Revoltech Wanzers from Front Mission...

Finished the game with both YF-19 and -21(as a wingman) maxed out. Playing New Game+ for route B. Had some Free Mission VS. fun, whacking those 2 sissy pilots from SEED over and over gun with a Limiter unlocked YF-19. Fighter mode is invaluable as one of them likes to melee your ass over and over if you just stay in Battroid mode. So all I did was hit-and-run, rinse and repeat with nuke missiles. Good lord, I think I've done a lotta hit-and-runs in most missions except the final boss. Next in new game+ might be either Black Selena and the Aesti team, VF-1S Roy and Hikaru, and maybe Eureka Seven. Never did pay attention to a bunch of cowabanga mechs, but ACE3 made me try them out. Melee is quite different as Nirvash Spec 1 just slice through enemies with a boomerang. His main weapon is a multi-lock with just 1 ammo every fast reload. Heck, half his special attacks are stylish melee strikes. Another note: Isamu and Guld's major battles from the OAV condensed into one brief fight scene in mission 2. LOL

All I did was blitz enemy positions(the buildings with red signal lights will change to green signaling the base take over). After that, all that's left was the last two. Around this time, the X-9 will appear after spending some time killing enemies. Taking down the Ghost should be your main priority once it comes, so take it out first. From what I remember, taking over the last enemy building before taking down the X-9 will end the mission sooner, and the X-9 leaves(I think) while you mop up. I do not know the consenquences for not taking out the X-9, as I restarted the mission to get another shot. Well, that's how I remember it. I have to play that mission again in Free Mission mode to confirm. EDIT: Erm, I think the real objective is to make sure Friendly ships survive. I heard that all ships surviving and all bases taken over is a secret requirement. Can someone confirm?

Back in the house. Some things I discovered when playing the YF-19(which I'm using throughout the game, with YF-21 as wingman. third guy anything goes, but usually Ixbrau Form T) and some other trivia: - Manage to test the L2/R2 buttons and indeed it can roll in fighter mode. Tried to do the same for GERWALK mode, but looks like it can't(VF-1S in ACE 2 could do the roll in GERWALK). Oh well, looks like I gotta settle for the YF-19 donkey-kicking in GERWALK to side-step... - I seem to be able to destroy stationary targets faster while in fighter mode. I just have to position myself so I can do hit-and-run on enemy ships and stations. Without targeting. My average is three ships. - Discovered you can actually lock-on in fighter mode... sort of. You have to be in VIEW of the enemy and no where else. So you can lock on missiles or just shoot 'em as long as you can see the enemy's in FRONT of you. - So much fun when you jet towards the target area, shoot down a couple of grunts in fighter mode, and switch to GERWALK to take the fight to them. I seem to use GERWALK alot to shoot things down. I only switch to battroid when they either get too close or it's a boss fight. Heh, I actually want to risk it and used fighter mode throughout one boss fight, but some pesky King Gainer enemy boss keeps teleporting. Fighter mode's good if you wanna get out of a tight spot with a boss and go back in. - It seems to me that during combination strikes, the mech you used and maxed out the most in the game will always strike the final blow against a target(without or before a related mech series team-up). So I ended up seeing the YF-19 with all his combo strike scenes activating and finishing the shmuck off with a missile barrage and flying off. - When picking the a second wingman, pick one with decent armor, or upgraded it stats before you use it. I picked the Nu Gundam for one mission, and just halfway through the mission it got shot down faster before I even realise it's gone. Sheesh, what's with the paper-thin armor? The good thing about Nu? Its' fin funnels actually escort your main mech during play. It was so cool seeing the YF-19 flying with the funnels around it. That gives me an idea for custom armaments for my 1/60 -19... - Close-combat with the YF-19/21 feels much better than melee-ing with VF-1s. - Those energy-field areas can be a pain to your armor if you do not take out the generators. You can spot them by the pinkish/purplish glow they give out. You gotta take out the guards on the ground though before you do, so the shields will go down. But unless the mission requires you to, don't bother going near the generators and stay away from the affected area (can be seen on the radar as a red square). - I sure hope there is a small guide on mission objectives, as I can't read japanese. Finished mission 24 and watched the briefing for the next one. A bit shocked to see energy fields all over the map. - - EDIT: Another one. Has anyone taken a closer look at the -19 in the Unit Viewer? Nothing's holding the gunpod AT ALL in fighter mode. It's being held by air. Anime magic! EDIT: quick question: Is there a major difference when you use the FAST packs? I'm not sure, but I think either your verniers last longer or you fly faster. Can anyone clarify? My 2 cents. That's it for now.

Yamato 1/60 scale YF-19 Fix/Modification Thread
MangledMess replied to Wicked Ace's topic in The Workshop!
Hmm, I had some bad experience using super glue on a F-14 model once... I'll check out that plastruct. Is it safe for me to open up the shoulder and the sliding bicep? The crack is near where I slide down the thing... -
Oh, I see. I gotta check this when I get back from work.

Yamato 1/60 scale YF-19 Fix/Modification Thread
MangledMess replied to Wicked Ace's topic in The Workshop!
Ah, found this thread. Does anyone know what type of glue that's best used on cracks in ABS plastic? I've stated this in another thread about the left inner bicep of the arm showing nasty cracks, and trying to save it. Any suggestions? -
Oh yeah, question about the YF-19: How come it can't spin roll to the side in fighter mode like the VF-1S in ACE2? I tried to double tap to the left or right while boosting, but nothing happens. So I guess easy controls won't allow that, huh? Or am I missing something? Will go back to play it again (giving this game as much love as I've given Front Mission 5)
-
Just a quick advice for those who are new to the ACE series and just wanna have fun hassle-free: When asked to pick what kind of controls you want for flight mode(for valkyries and the like. Refer to previous post in this thread for menu translations), pick the first option, which is Easy. Or if anyone's too used to games like Ace Combat, pick the third option, which is Reverse Easy, which basically lets you control the fighter mode like you'd control a fighter, but easier. Considering how Lock-On seems absent when you transform into fighter mode and can be quite hard to shoot down pesky teleporting units *cough*Blood Ark*cough*, the first (easy) and third (reverse easy) helps. Picking the second and fourth option will only frustrate you more and best for veteran ACE players. In my opinion, fighter mode seems best for hit-and-run(which is the real role of a fighter, perhaps?) on slow moving targets, and ships if you upgrade it enough. I think I'm gonna try taking out 2 or 3 ships in a row(if lined up ) in fighter mode with the YF-19 once I advance through the stages...

RFT: Heh, decided to get Prime, but will hold on getting Megs till VF-1S Roy comes out. Promise myself to get just 2 a month. But then, what I really kill for is a Revoltech War Within Optimus Prime. WW Grimlock needs some love too... *Secretly wishes for Front Mission mechs(Zenith, baby!) for this line, but looks unlikely...* And speaking of fighters, where's the love for Revoltech Terry Bogard? Mitsurugi and the cast of Soul Calibur would be great! Kaiyodo, don't forget about Kenshiro! It's blasphemy not to have that bad-ass on board.
-
Can't wait for Revoltech Roy The possibility of the YF-19 and YF-21 becoming Revoltechs will look even brighter once they finish with the VFs. Those fighters are popular enough to warrant a Revoltech entry. I'd buy those 2 in a heart beat.

Is the replacement parts free of charge or something? Because I did not get my -19 from them, and I'm just wondering if I'm qualified to get one from them? And I have no way of paying online.
-
I believe I haven't... where?
-
I hope it's an isolated incident, because I suddenly realized it was because of trying to pry the right arm that usually connects under the shield(which is situated on the left arm, of course) off when transforming from fighter to Battroid, and I admit I might have disconnected it a little too hard, not realizing I've been rough on the left arm because of the damn shield(damn it's tight when you connect the arms under it.). And I had the -19 for quite a long time since my sister bought it from Japan.
-
Getting Revoltech Revy for... um, some ideas I have... *ahem* Also it's a good guide when I'm sketching poses. Does anyone recommend getting Prime and VF-1S Focker? I'm undecided on whether or not to get them.
-
I concur. On the side note, does anyone want translations for the menus in the game? Source's from the GameFaq's ACE 3 forum, though I think it'll be easier for you guys to see it here... EDIT: Oops, saw mikes already put it up. Sorry guys.
-
Ouch. I feel sorry for you, man. I'm also having the same problem with the left arm too, tough I had it for, like, almost a year I think. I really had no problem with my -19 until I saw this nasty crack recently when I slide down the 'muscle' piece on the left upper arm(almost the same as yours), causing it to hang loose. Thank God it didn't break off yet. Until I find what kind of glue that's strong enough and last long enough, I'm keeping it in fighter mode. So, can anyone recommend what type of glue I could use? If not, how do I get a replacement part from Yamato? On another note, should I get the YF-19+FastPack+FoldBooster set, or just get the FP+FoldBooster? Decided on just the FP set, but after seeing the crack, I'm undecided...

Ironhide as the tooth fairy, knocking people's teeth off and handing them a coin. Brutal Charity at its best! Speaking of toys... don't you hate it when you finally have money to buy some, only to find 90% the toys, sans Prime mask and transformer toys guns, sold out for a month or two? Just when I wanted to buy Classics Optimus Prime... Damn you, Bayformers. Damn you. DX But on a bright note, I manage to secure the Camaro Concept Bumblebee. Gonna pick it up next month.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - <<Season 1>>
MangledMess replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
*scratch newly grown beard* As long as it takes... could someone tell me what year is it today? -
Question: WW Prime titanium toy: Great, good, or horrible, bad? Been hearing mixed thoughts about the toy, and now I can no longer found that thing. Just when I have enough cash... Oh well, looks like I'll be getting Deluxe Bumblebee V2(Camaro Concept). I like the Deluxe design over the Ultimate version because it looks more accurate to the movie design(the only Bayformer design I really like) than the Ultimate, which is ironic. Heh.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - <<Season 1>>
MangledMess replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Oh, for God's sake, not again. As much as I do not care at all about this show(never been a fan of Gundam anyway, although the only mechs I like from this entire franchise is the Hi-Nu and the Gundam Astrays Blue and Red.), I was hoping the fourth character was a girl. Wearing Glasses. Yesss.... But no, it HAS TO BE a Super-Girly-Feminine-Pretty-Boy. Damn anime fetish! When will I come across a GOOD anime of this current generation that does not have that blatant gender-bending fetish!? WHEN!?!? *Ahem**cough* Ok, sorry about that. -
Is it that small? Guess I gotta blow up a page to A3 if I can. Got the Zenith along with the Blizzaia, a custom-made Goat and FM5's Numsekar. Can't wait to build them up. It's safe to say that these 3 paper models are what started me on a madcap papercraft hunt across the internet, and I believe I've gotten at least the fighter and GERWALK versions of the VF-1S, a couple of Chromehound mechs, and a Enterprise-A. http://www.3dpapermodel.com.tw/ <--- click the robots section. Oh yeah, great pun on the Wanzer name. Another good reason not to call it a "W"alking T"ank".

Good Golly!!! I think my index finger nearly broke scrolling down and up. Thought you didn't have the 1/60 YF-19 until I saw that its in the corner with the VF-1s. Massive Macross collection there. Just where the heck did you get the money to buy them all? Woah! O.O. -

Knight Rider the Movie (and Series)
MangledMess replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Eeeeh. Where's the A-Team movie? Aside from that, I'm gonna miss the 1982 TransAm. It'll be cool to see it in the new movie, but right now we gotta keep up with the time. That means there are sleeker cars to be used as KITT. ... UNLESS of course they turn the movie into another weird no-brainer action comedy(i.e. Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch). Anyway, let's see how things goes!
