BOOTH BABES!!! YES!!! :D

I work in the ad industry. I just found out that this is a viral thing for MINI that their ad agency created. I dig it, it's cool.

I don't remember the prices offhand but there used to be a great place in Little Tokyo called Pony-Toy-Go-Round where I got my toy fix. It was in a plaza called Honda Plaza close to downtown LA. They even had a second store in Yaohan Plaza which was nearby. They both eventually closed, but I have really great memories of me and my pop going there to check out all the latest import toys from Japan. Anything and everything, that place was incredible. Macross, Gundam, Spiral Zone, MachineRobo, Godaikin, Scitex, Zoids, etc. That place truly warped my fragile little mind. Anyways back on topic, the Macross stuff I got at retail back in the day was an Elintseeker, a Strike Valk, and an HCM VF-1J. Always regretted not getting a Super-O. But it was either that or the Elint, and the Elint just looked like it had more doohickeys going on with it, which of course is appealing to a kid. I mean the thing had a radar dish and arm accessories, man!

Why is a Super Ostrich called a Super Ostrich?
dr_vandermeer replied to jasonkimberson's topic in Toys
You know what? I've never thought of that, but you're right! So the only right answer is that it sounds kinda cool? Is this written as scripture anywhere? Never really understood the "elint" part of elintseeker either come to think about it. -
Let's all simmer down now. Godzilla wants to do customs, Max is his fav, etc. No need to try to bring the guy down.

And just like that, Graham throws MW into the Toy Twilight Zone, where nothing is as it seems. Agreed. Graham, PLEASE retract your last post. With that last comment, you've surely extended this thread another 20 pages.

Matrix A.P.U. DELUXE - Buyers beware!
dr_vandermeer replied to Limbo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
GODDAMIT! *update on my A.P.U. after my previous post saying my replacement to another broken one was great...* So the thing has mostly been posed here and there on my shelf. Nothing too aggressive in terms of twists and turns in the arms, legs and torso. Well what happens the other night I decide to pick it up and get it in a new pose? I twist the torso a couple of times and the entire thing BREAKS IN HALF! I guess it was ratcheted too tightly, so basically this whole time I was twisting the waist, it wasn't turning at a swivel, but rather the plastic itself was being twisted back and forth until the whole thing finally came apart in my hands. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING. I really liked the design and engineering of it, but the materials and construction are just too piss-poor. I will not be getting another one. And if McFarlane ever decides to do a Power Loader from Aliens (which I USED to hope for), I won't be getting that either. STAY AWAY!!! -
How can you say that G1 Jetfire is ugly?? It's arguably one of the best G1 out there. I can easily think of a dozen TF's that are much worse. I do believe that was a joke... Anyways, my vote for ugliest? For some reason, Motormaster from the Stunticons line never really did it fot me. And if there was a contest for ugliest Transformer in terms of box art, I think he'd also be one of the ones at the top of the list.

yikes! let's play nice now...

No harm in that to me. Glad you had good experiences with those retailers. Positivity?! on MW?! has hell frozen over?!

Damn, you beat me to it. I saw this thread and thought "Haruka Nayuta did a much better job". Is that the models name? Does she do a lot of cosplay work? I don't know what else she has done. That's just the name they list for her in ARMS. Actually, I had to look that up. What I really thought was "that arms chick did a better job" Edit- A google search reveals that she, as far as I can tell, is an AV star. (AV being "adult video" for those not in the know). i am not in the know... but i know AV... RUH-ROH!!!

more sunstreaker images including side by side shots with sideswipe: http://community.webshots.com/album/122974090YKtCsY/0 http://community.webshots.com/album/122974090YKtCsY/1 even though it's off some, i like that they are doing a race version. i can only imagine that it would have all of the same race markings as the real car. i have a (sinking) feeling though, that he'll be red though, and not yellow like he should be. but check out that backpack!!!

that's just awesome!

Quick Question - about TRU reissue Optimus Prime
dr_vandermeer replied to dr_vandermeer's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hey, thanks Dangard Ace and mslz22 for the launcher info. Anyone else have any positive confirmation on the instructions being included or not? Otherwise, thank you all. -
Thanks for looking, and possibly helping. I just sold a TRU reissue Optimus Prime to someone on eBay. It was sealed and never opened. All I know is that it had shortstacks, which is why I never opened it. I never noticed until after I bought it (this was before I started going to forums and hearing about stuff like that before an item came out). Anyways, everything was cool until he emailed me to tell me that there were no instructions included and the launcher that is supposed to launch Roller doesn't work. Having never opened it, I don't know if instructions were EVER included or if the launcher EVER worked. This is after all from a company that continually chops Prime's stacks for whatever the reason. And I know that launching/spring actions have always been a touchy subject, so it's conceivable to me that they disabled it. I also don't own any of the other TRU Transformer reissues to see what Hasbro has been doing regarding instructions and launching parts. I'm an honest seller and he seems like an honest buyer. I put in my auction 'all sales final', but I feel bad for the guy because I honestly have no idea. Who knows, maybe I picked up a Prime with these problems and to his bad luck, he won my auction. So here is my question: did the TRU Optimus Prime reissue come with instructions and did the launcher ever launch? Any answers are appreciated. Thanks again! (And apologies in advance is this is in the wrong forum. I didn't think it was really an ebay/auction question as much as a toy question.)
