I'll definitely be in for one!

Actually, it seems E2046 is going to be doing another run of their recast soon. They have it for pre-order now. $72 each.
-
Yep. It's done The first kit (Carl's) will be shipping on tuesday, in fact. But I'm not ready to take final orders quite yet. I'm still casting up kits (a fairly slow process, considering the size of the kit) and building up a kit for myself, writing the kit's instructions as I go along. (Also not a not a quick process...) I'll have more updates later this week.

Yes, please make the TV ARMD. Cause I'm planning on making the movie one

Think that's impressive? Check out the work-in-progress pics of Studio Half-Eye's Perfect Variable Gunbuster!! http://halfeye.m78.com/himiken/h-ken/h-ken.html The proportions look kinda weird... But keep in mind, the Gunbuster has what may just be THE most implausible transformation in the history of anime. And this guy's making it work!! -

Actually, I asked them about it at Anime Central (as I do every year) and they said it's been officially canceled. Though they wouldn't confirm that they no longer hold the liscense. -
Can't say for sure what he means by Image Scale.... But one thing that jumps to mind is an "Image Model" of Uchuu Senkan Yamato that I have. It's got this weird forced-perspective built into the front of the kit.

I have that book... It's definitely not the same as those first pages you posted. Leads me to wonder where they were printed... Could be in Bandai's old Cyber Comix books... but I had thought all of those stories were reprinted in the two volumes of Comic Gunbuster. There's also a Gunbuster Next Generation novel, which I don't have, but judging from the cover, it looks different from both incarnations we've seen here. -
Dude, that CD is totally worth it. If only becuase it's the only CD ever released that has the acoustic version of Totsugeki Love Heart on it Oh, and Macross Plus is pictured on the jacket, but there's nothing from Macross Plus on the CD. I'm still looking for an original copy of it for myself. I only have MP3s of it.

Dude, a Club-M Normal Valkyrie for Y3,000 is a steal! I paid around $50 for mine not too long ago, and I thought I got a good deal. It's probably the rarest of the Club-M VF-1 series.

And to give you a clearer idea of the inside of the barrel (i hope), here's the 'mold' I made to create the inside of the forward section of the barrel. That bullet-looking piece on the left is the negative shape of the front inch or so of the barrel.
-
A frontal shot, to give you all a clearer look at their differences. The original is way too thick-walled for my tastes, so I made it a lot thinner. I also made it only partially hollow, so it'll be easier to paint, while still looking realistic.
-
And finally, my scratchbuilt cannon barrel, next to the plain acrylic tube that the original kit came with. I think is came out quite well. You may notice that it's a bit longer than the original, but it's intentional. The final barrel casts will all be individually machined to their proper lengths, and probably bored out from the rear to reduce their weight.
-
And speaking of molds, here's the big box of molds from the first round of the Monster project. They've served their purpose, so they're pretty much useless to me now. But it pains me to think how much time and money is in that box... Anyway, if anyone needs some Oomoo 30 to chop up and use as filler in their molds, let me know.

Sorry once again to have kept you guys waiting. Things have been a bit crazy... But it's almost done. I should just have one more mold to make (the 4-gang mold of the barrels), and pretty much everything else should be only casting work. The hard part is done. And there were some rather difficult molds in there... I'll start with a pic of the first successful casts from some of the molds. This is what's going to become Carl's kit. I promised him the first one.

Fire Bomber 2005 - A Tribute to Nekki Basara

I read about this on the Comendium a few days ago, actually. It's a CD--Fukuyama Fire. I must have it -
Yea, memory sticks are friggin' expensives. And the Duo sticks are even more so. I paid about $65 for my 512mb card yesterday (a Sanisk one, actually). And that's with my 10% over cost Fry's employee discount. Regular price was $85. An equivelant SD card would cost less than $50 (regular price) I really wish there was an adapter out there... even if it was some kind of dongle that hangs outside of the PSP (since SD and CF cards obviously wouldn't fit inside the unit. They're just sooo much cheaper than the Memory Stick Duo cards that it would be worth it. I mean, you can get a 1 gig SD card for $80 easily. A 1 gig Duo card will run you $200. But anyway, even though it was kinda pricey, the decision to buy a 512mb card was a no-brainer for me. Between the MP3 capability, the VERY cool PSP video conversion utility, and the very probable possibility of using it for homebrew games, apps, and emulators in the future, it seemed like a solid investment to say the least.

Cool, never saw that VF-11 before! I have a recast of the Ghost though. Only mine has FAST Packs. Hmmm... I got it on yahoo japan auctions a while back. It came with a 1/144 missile drone from Macross Plus as well (not sure if that one's original or recast). I'm betting that one's a Corydoras kit as well.

I actually figured out what the problem was. I had my router set up to restrict access to all but the mac adresses I specify. And I entered the PSP's address wrong. The PSP's D looks a little too similar to its 0 And I tried doing the PSP's firmware update, but there was no newer version available. Also, I noticed that there's an option to play games from a memory stick. That's pretty damn cool. Could mean it'll let people write their own homebrew games that can be easily downloaded and played! Even internet apps like a web browser may be possible.

I ended up picking one up today. I'm feeling like I spent way too much money... but goddamn is this thing cool! Good thing today was payday I was instantly blown away by the clarity of the screen. The spiderman movie pack-in seemed a bit useless, but if nothing else, it's a great demo of the system's video capabilities! I was also assuming that the games on the demo disc were at least playable... but no such luck there. I tried out that video conversion utility a bit ago. It's encoding is slow (even on my new Athlon 64 system), but it works quite well. But don't expect to store much on the 32 meg memory stick the PSP comes with. I was barely able to fit a 4 minute music video on it, at the default encoding settings. But it came out looking really good. I shall have to buy a larger memory stick for this thing, so I can watch some anime on it The wireless features are pretty cool, though it seems you can't do much with it by linking it to a wireless internet connection. Looks like firmware updates are about it right now. Still, I was curious if it'd work with my setup, so I tried connecting it to my Netgear router. It recognised it, but it's still not working... it gives me an error every time I do a 'test connection' I ended up getting mine at Best Buy. I got there at 3pm, and they still had plenty left. I actually would have gotten it at Fry's, where I work, but they were only selling them in bundles with 2 games (and you couldn't pick the two) for $340. Fry's started the day with a mere 42 systems, and when I left at 3pm, they had only sold 25 or so, I think.
