All 3 are Eve, but that pic isn't one of them.

There's 3 Megazone watercolors in Haruhiko Mikimoto Illustrations

Dunno about that last one. Don't think I've ever heard of it. The Kaiseki Manual is indeed mostly centered on the novels. There's a bit of anime art, but it's nothing special. The other three are all great books, but Fairy Air Force At War is by far the cheapest and easiest to find. It's definitely the best bang for the buck.

My mold release of choice is vaseline thinned down with mineral spirits. It takes a lot of mixing to combine the two, but it works like a champ.

No, if I do that, there would be seams in the canopy that would be near impossible to remove. If my idea works, there would be no seams

Hmm... possibly. I can definitely see how that shape would be problematic to vacuform. But I've got a couple ideas that just might work.

The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0
Valkyrie replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
<sigh> Looks like I'll be buying Gunbuster again. For the.... 5th time, in fact. I'm not even kidding. -
Coming soon: The return of the 1/72 SF-3A Lancer II
Valkyrie replied to Valkyrie's topic in Model kits
The launch arm that I'm casting for SSM is no big secret. It's just that people have forgotten about it cause I've taken so long with it -
Coming soon: The return of the 1/72 SF-3A Lancer II
Valkyrie replied to Valkyrie's topic in Model kits
Yea, things are coming along, just not as fast as I'd like. I'm finishing up casting the 1/72 VF-1 launch arm and Metal Gear Rex at the same time as the Lancer, so I've been spreading myself a bit thin. I'm hoping to have the first kits ready to ship in about 2 weeks. I'll begin taking orders when I have stock on hand. -
I'm in for one And for what it's worth, I've been having good luck with carbon fiber rod inserts in the Lancer's antenna blades. I'll bet they'd work well in the rotors also.

As for as I know, all fansub efforts stalled out. And for good reason. That whole show was just a mess from episode one. I tried watching it. I didn't get very far. The best thing Kissdum had going for it were Kawamori's mecha designs (though that was the extent of his involvement), and they didn't even use them in the show much. But as bad as the show was, the Kawamori's designs do kick much ass. I'll buy any resin kits of them in a heartbeat. Now, to find someone that'll be selling them...

Here's another Yahoo auction I thought was pretty cool. A Bandai EX Supersylph, painted up to look like it's a wood carving. Pretty well done, too! http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e84608573

Coming soon: The return of the 1/72 SF-3A Lancer II
Valkyrie replied to Valkyrie's topic in Model kits
The car situation is taken care of now. The engine was shot, so I had to buy a replacement car And yes, 007, the parts pictured in the first post are all my casts. -
Coming soon: The return of the 1/72 SF-3A Lancer II
Valkyrie replied to Valkyrie's topic in Model kits
Yep, it's still happening. It's just behind schedule a bit. My car broke down last month, and most of my time went into trying to repair it, and ultimately finding a replacement. That's the short version of the story, anyway. I should have the first batch ready for sale in about 2 weeks. -
Yep. He's just selling the extras box, not the actual blu-ray or DVD box. As for shipping, I have no idea. Very nice work on the Super Sylph!

In case anyone's interested, I found this on Yahoo Japan Auctions http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w29140408 It's the Premium Box that came with the Blu-Ray set, which comes with 2 art books and the 1/200 diecast Mave model. Pretty good price too - Y8500 opening bid or Y10,000 buy-it-now.

Looks cool. It's out next month too. I just wish Haseagwa would put out something new... it's been 2 years since their last truly new Macross product (the VF-0S reactive armor)
-
Patience... They're only 8 months late. This is barely an average delay for Platz.

Coming soon: The return of the 1/72 SF-3A Lancer II
Valkyrie replied to Valkyrie's topic in Model kits
Unfortunately, there will be no major revision to the kit. Cobywan was planning on updating it with more panel line detail and such, but he just had too many other project competing for his time to make it happen. I'll be making a few small changes for fit and durability, but don't expect any hyper-detailing or anything. In my opinion, this kit doesn't need it anyway. -
Last month, I had the good fortune of being able to buy the masters to Cobywan's 1/72 Lancer II resin kit, which has been out of production for several years now. And it gives me great pleasure to announce that it will soon be available once again! The price has not been finalized, but it will be under $50 No firm release date yet either, but my goal is to have them ready by the end of August. Decals may or may not be included, but all the necessary decals (all 4 of them) can easily be obtained from most any Hasegawa VF-1 kit I've heard reports that the antenna blade from the original release tended to droop over time, so I'm taking measures to prevent that from happening in my kits. This will most likely involve having a carbon fiber rod cast into the part. I did some test casts with CF inserts today, and was quite pleased with the results Now, so I have an idea of how many of these things I'll need to cast... Who's interested in getting one?
-
Yep, looks like it supports 4-player multiplayer It looks like only ad-hoc mode is supported, not infrastructure mode (meaning you can't play multiplayer over the internet)

Wow, very cool! I'd much rather see a Macross game on a next-gen system, but still, I'll definitely be buying this one! Sadly, no. But on the bright side, the PSP has no region lock. It'll play japanese games with no hacking necessary.

Wow, cool. I don't know what their source for the scans on page 1 are, but the scans on pages 2-11 are scans of a chinese version of Fairy Air Force At War. Excellent book. I have most of the art in the images on the first page, but there's a few that I have never seen. Mainly the color images of the Flip Knights. Edit: And actually, that page got me thinking. I've had a portfolio of Yukikaze art that I've been meaning to share for a while now. So I threw it up on my Photobucket account. Enjoy them, 116 pages, in all their 600dpi glory http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m152/va...e2036/Yukikaze/ I got them from Yahoo Japan Auctions a while back, and it's pretty clear that they're a few copy generations old. But most aren't bad. And they only cover the first 2 or 3 episodes.

The first 2 volumes of the Full Metal Panic novels are out now, english translated by Tokyopop. I picked up volume 1, but I haven't had time to read it yet. And they're not quite mecha, but the three Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex novels were quite good too.
