  1. Thanks for looking. Paint scheme is a customer request from another series, don't know what it is from.
  2. Well I struggled a bit to come up with a good way to do it. Way back when Jung had shared that he modified a hole punch with a piece from an allen wrench. Played around with that but could not get a nice clean cut. I searched high and low praying someone made a hex shaped hole punch. No such luck, in this size anyway. So what I finally settled on was taking a section of brass hex shaped tubing. You can find this size at any hobby shop. I then ground the sides to make it as sharp as I could without thinning it too much. I then layered some tape on a wood cutting board and proceeded to punch the hex tubing into the tape. You can only do 3-4 layers at a time to get a clean cut. Then you have to peel each hex shaped piece of tape off the board and place on the valk. Not difficult, just tedious. There may be a better way, but that is what I came up with without spending too much time on a solution.
  3. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
  4. I like the digital....I may lose my mind doing it, but I like it. I for sure want to do something that would be used in combat so I can beat it up. I don't have MG decals, although that would be cool.
  5. So I have this 1/48 VF-1J and GBP set that has been laying around. I would like to finally pull it out and put custom paint job on it. I have done the standard blue, urban camo, winter camo and a low vis camo before. Thought I would ask you folks what you would like to see. I am open to pretty much anything, so post your ideas....I need inspiration! Links to pictures would be great. Thanks!

    Anasazi decals

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have not seen the valks in person, only images. As far as I can tell it is only the decals that are yellowing, not any of the surrounding paint. No, it is not testors dullcoat. Testors acrylic flat.
  9. Does anyone else have their Anasazi decals turning yellow on their customs? A customer of mine has several valks with decals turning yellow. I am fairly certain that it is not caused by my process. They have been stored out of any sunlight in a closet, no unusual humidity or anything per the customer. Here is a quick list of my process with customs: Lacquer prime Acrylic paint Coat of Future Apply decals with Microscale Micro Set & Sol Seal with another coat of Future Dull coat with Testors acrylic While I do not have valks with Anasazi decals in my personal collection I do have other models that have decals applied in the exact same manner. I suspect that there is something in the decals themselves, or at least in certain batches, because not all of the numerous custom valks this customer has is experiencing this. Any thoughts??

Thanks everyone! Panel lining is mostly done with an oil wash. Also some pre & post shading. Yes, the gunpod is also weathered.
  11. Hey everyone, Happy New Year. Just finished this valk. Sorry for the image quality, just received a new camera and I have not had time to learn it yet. These images do not show much of the weathering detail. Enjoy!
  12. Hey everyone. Just finished these two valks in the Jetfire scheme. They are not exact reproductions and yes I know, the heat sheild is missing on the one. Thanks for looking.

  15. I agree, much better than mine. Great job!
  16. Well I don't recall seeing anything that was obviously for lights. However I supoose it could be done with all of the hollow space available. Graham - yeah that SDF looks a bit plain. You would think that Yamato would have really done it up. Well they can hire me to do another one for them. LOL
  17. Thanks everyone. I also just realised that I forgot to take a picture of the feet thrusters. Will have to do that before it ships. I will let the owner reveal himself if he so chooses.
  18. Yeah your probably right. I guess I didn't pay to much attention to the exact placement when I transformed it. Thanks everyone!
  19. Well as some of you know I have been tied up on a project for the last couple months. Well here it is. A good customer of mine commissioned be to build his 1/2000 SDF-1. I figure I have about 80 - 90 hours in this thing. Overall it was not a bad build, just time consuming. I only had a few reference photos so I had to wing it a bit. As you will see there was one part missing. Actually they packaged two of the same hand. So for those of you brave enough to buy one of these that is something to watch out for. A replacement part is in the works. Let me know what you think... enjoy and thanks for looking!
