Here is my list: 1. Yamato 1/48 (Most beautiful VF-1 toy ever, super detailed, very articulated, very expensive, somewhat fragile, but solid enough to play with. Just be careful when handling it.) 2. Bandai 1/55 (Very sturdy, very fun to play, very nostalgic, very good price, still looks pretty nice after all these years, but kind of blocky.) 3. Yamato 1/60 (Beautiful sculpt & wide variety.......ehh......hmm...................................yeah. That was it. Seriously, too fragile to play with before legs start falling off or parts get real loose. A number of releases plagued with some QC issues. Nice display piece though as it is quite articulated for posing, better than Bandai's. Relatively cheap.) 4. MPC (Too weird looking for my taste, without the charm & nostalgic factor that the Bandai ones have, doesn't excel in any category, some QC issues.) So if you are looking for something solid & fun to play with, Bandai is the way to go. But if aesthetics is your main game, you can't go wrong with Yamato's 1/48. Or at least have one of each, then you get the best of both worlds.

I've always liked the Q-Rau design ever since I was a kid, drooling over my cousin's Q-Rau plastic kit & the box art, so I can say its one of my favorite mech design in the Macross universe. Even though I wasn't too big on the 1/60 collection, I definitely wouldn't mind getting one of these, preferably green, but red is cool too. But after looking at the price tag, It scared me away... 12800yen is really too much to ask for, and I thought it was going to be about as much as a regular 1/60. Silly me I guess I won't be having one after all.

US$105 shipped from TOYNK.com as they have a $5 flat rate shipping. They shipped my order the next day I ordered. Pretty neat. Never deal with them before, but they have it in stock early & the price was pretty good. Yeah, and I cancelled my order from HLJ.com too, as I pre-ordered it on Oct18, but still not good enough to get mine from the first shipment. Turned out TOYNK.com or BBTS is cheaper than HLJ even if I go for SAL shipping. I guess MPConvoy is really big & heavy.

Man, just cancelled my MPC at HLJ. I got that same "order stop" for many days now, while some others had got their order processed days ago, and I ordered from them as early as Oct 18th. <_< I went for SAL too to save some money, but when I found out that it cost just as much if not more than a couple U.S. online retailers that already has MPC in stock, I don't see the point of waiting for at least a month or so for their restock & paying a few bucks more. And I thought I can save some shipping by ordering the SOC Getters (GX18-20) together with it, end up all the Getters were shipped out one by one. I wouldn't go as far as to end my relationship with HLJ, but sometimes things like this just disappointed me somewhat. And quite often, the shipping turns out costing a lot everytime ordering slightly bigger items, let alone a 1/48 valk. I don't think I'll have my MPC by Christmas , but hopefully before New Year comes

i wish doraemon would brought to the u.s.

I do think that Doraemon is more of a kid's show, but so is Pokemon, Hamtaro, YuGiOoh, and a bunch of other stuff. I used to watch it quite often when I was a kid, and the show is actually very entertaining. It even teaches kids some good values without being lame. Too bad... -
I don't know about all the pics, but the left one of the bottom two Minmay pics (the one with the concert outfit) did show up in the narration at the beginning of one of the TV stages, after she won Miss Macross. It would be a disappointment & false advertising if the others are not in the game. Strange... Hope they are in the game somehow. Oh, and on the Miss Macross stage (P-06 I think), you actually see some semi-animated scenes of Minmay in the Miss Macross contest while fighting, pretty cool Wish they showed that for a bit longer, but definitely makes you feel like you are there, just like how it is in the TV episode. And it did distract me a bit from the battle, almost costing me a lost LOL.

What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.

I know what you are talking about. Seems like a very common issue with many 1/48 if not all. My old VF-1A Hikaru has that, and I'm quite sure my new 1S Hikaru will have it soon. That plastic seal seems to stick out after posing your valk a bit on the hip joints. If I remember correctly, most people here just leave it as is unless it got really bad. As long as you are careful with the joints, it shouldn't get much worse after a while. Otherwise, you can take the advice of imode and fix it by taking it apart. -
After reading this 39 pages post last night, I was really hyped about this game & decided to get it from a local import game store, which they have one copy left. I guess it was meant to be mine. I actually saw it last time I was there weeks ago, but didn't know anything about the game, and forgot all about it until I accidentally bump into this post. What a revelation it became.... So I spent a couple hours on the game, went through a few stages & the tutorial. I have to say that this game does not disappoint! I was worried that it would be another mediocre attempt of an anime-game adaption, but you guys were right. This game rocks!! It has some short comings, short game length, and some missing features that can really improve this game to greatness. But all by itself, its still a darn good game, and a darn good Macross game. I actually don't mind too much of it being too linear or too little replay value. If I could improve one thing, its the quality of the 3D models. The game looks really nice while playing, and the menus, portraits & voices & music are all excellent. Even the still illustrations don't bother me as they are nicely done. But seems like everytime they have CG cutscenes, especially close-ups, the valks & Macross shows their visual weakness by having a little too low on poly count. I mean, it only takes some bevels on some of the major shapes to round off many of the sharp edges & boxy look, and make the models look much more authentic, without costing too many extra polys. Slightly different treatment on the valks & macross' textures would help too, particular tone down the panel lines a little. It would make this game look so much more polished than it is now. Too bad, just too bad...... I am still getting used to the controls, & particularly sucky in gerwalk mode. But the gameplay is definitely great, as it is set up to be complicated enough to let you take some time to master it, but open up tons of possibilities once you get the hang of it. You can combine all sorts of lock on, barrel roll, strafe into some real fancy action, taking down hordes of enemy at the same time. This is just too cool. Does anyone find the Strike VF-1S Fokker on the cover looks weird? The proportion is strange with very short wings & boosters & super long legs, probably due to camera distortion. Wonder why they pick that pic, when the valks are obviously not like that in the game, or from pictures on the back cover. Interesting. Anyway, just want to share my excitement about this game. What a pleasant surprise.

Got my VF-1S Hikaru with Fast Pack recently. Really nice and all, but still prone to a few problems. VF-1S Hikaru: - The air break is very loose and pops down everytime I move the toy in robot mode. - Got a few deep scratches on the backpack panel as if the plastic accidentally got scraped by metal or something sharp. - Neck joint is too tight to turn sideways, cause the base of the head to pop out loose in robot mode. - One landing gear has a wheel that doesn't roll very well, causing the whole thing to fall when I drag it on a surface in fighter mode. Fast Pack: - Small missiles can't sit tight on the slots. - Large missles don't stay on to the pegs too well. - The top half of the left booster is too loose & falls off quite often. I really appreciate Yamato's effort in designing beautiful pieces like these, and has been buying their Macross stuff on & off. But seeing issues like these everytime I buy their products (premium price ones too) really keeps me from investing more money on them. May be another GBP Armor set for 1/48 or 1/60, but that would be it. I doubted I'll buy more valks from them That's just too bad. -
Its real Japanese release. I actually have that very same box.

Just heard about this Mazinkaiser vs Ankoku Daishogun OVA, but not much info. Is this a continuing OVA series with more episodes coming up? Or is it a single DVD stand alone release with only 2 episodes total? Thanks.

I have to say I am quite surprised to see these pics all of a sudden when a lot of us were still hoping a Yamato GBP-1S to come out in the not so near future. This is great news! But since I am not a big fan of the 1/60 scale (only got one VF-1A Hikaru when it first came out, but was a little disappointed in the flimsiness & quality of the toy), and after seeing what they can do with the 1/48 Fast Pack, I might pass on this 1/60 GBP release and wait for the 1/48, unless it doesn't come in a bundle, which is unlikely as there was never a 1/60 Fast Pack kit only for sale. My budget is pretty limited too, so I can only get one or two of my favorite valks, which are the 1/48s right now. But seeing this release is definitely great news!! I'll try to be content with my cool but chunky 1/55 GBP in the meantime, even though I am very tempted....

Love Hina manga has hentai/ecchi stuff? Really? Can someone help clarify a bit since I don't know much about the Love Hina series? I always thought it was a popular love comedy, and thought of checking that out with my girlfriend someday to introduce her to more anime fun. But if it has explicit hentai stuff in it (someone even said its like La Blue Girl <_< ), I guess I'll have to pass. That really surprised me

How come everybody calls Burai in Getter G "Britai", like Britai in Macross? Funny And I thought Hayato is the one who got Michiru, not Musashi. I could be wrong though.

I love Gaogaigar as well. Didn't expect to like it this much since I just decided to check it out because of its recent appearance in Super Robot Wars Alpha 2 for Playstation 2. But after watching some episodes on DVD, I was totally glued to it. Loved the way they tried to revive the super robot genre with the over the top attitude & creative ways of implementing tools & gadgets into super duper special moves. Also with great characters and stories that both kids & adults can enjoy. Then with the Gaogaigar Final, they grab all the characters, stories & actions we grew to love, and bring them to a whole new level. Man, I have to say that the episode 2 of Final has to be one of the most dramatic & awe-inspiring robot fights in anime history! The drama, the tension, the emotions, the animations, the music.... everything blends in perfectly into a perfect moment of super robot anime.... Have seen a few recent super robot shows like Shin Getter, Neo Getter, Mazinkaiser, Rahxephon, Big O...etc. As cool as they all are in their own ways, I think Gaogaigar Final got the crown of my recent favorite.

Got to be the 1/55 Bandai VF-1J reissue with the GBP-1S. As chunky and less accurate as any of the new Yamatos, especially the 1/48, which I like a lot, the 1/55 GBP-1S valk always holds a special place in me. The GBP-1S has always been my favorite Macross design, and one of the first toy/model that I've ever possessed back in the days (the tiny 3" model my older brother built & painted for me back in my childhood days). As I got a little older, I was blessed with a 1/55 VF-1J Max type on a trip to Hong Kong, then a couple years later, a GBP-1S with the hard earned money of a 10 year-old kid. It was my treasure of all toys, but was lost when I moved to the States. The hurt stays through all these years, until a couple years later when I can afford to aquire the lost piece of gem...the GBP-1S on ebay, then the reissue of 1/55 VF-1J Hikaru type. I have it right besides me right now as I type, and it feels very satisfying.....
