Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.5
PsYcHoDyNaMiX replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Damn Bandai and their exclusives. They should have realized they would've banked more by selling these products publicly and not just to the locals. But yes the clear VF-25 definitely speaks exclusive; the armor set not so. -
Yea... edwin posted up the really good point I was too lazy to argue about last night. Bleh, w/e. I have pretty good eye for detail. Since the birds should have started being produced I'm pretty sure Yamato would just retake shots instead of photoshop (one less person to pay or less effort needed). The blue and black (b&b) is a photoshop of it's original counterpart (b&r), but definitely not of the orange or orange of the b&b. Additional area's on top of Repiv's:
-
Not no photoshop. Just look at the displacement of each bird, they won't take the time to photoshop the background too... >.>

OMG... what the freaking hell. >.> Alright... if this is the case I may just buy Ozma's and repaint it lol. Hopefully I have enough money for this one by the time October comes around. -=\ ***EDIT*** DAMN BANDAI! Yamato isn't this bad at least.... HMM... why couldn't they just make this a normal release version and then release a transparent exclusive version.... >.> ***RE-EDIT*** Hmm... either that just keep playing with Ozma's until the paint falls off (which should be pretty quick) then repaint it for altos. Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Model Kit Thread Ver.3

Yea I would definitely agree with captain. I was going to state that last night, but figured since it's a prototype/mock up I would wait until its been confirmed whether it's a variable or not. ***EDIT*** The fuselage definitely looks a bit too "one piece" to me. Along with a few other sections. I figured they would've made the wings separate from the body at least. However, it looks real nice with all the detail. -

Uh-oh... you know what this means they'll have to remake the plastic stems to hold the gun pods in fighter mode! -

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&id=66896 I can't read Japanese, but couldn't help to notice that on the board in the back it mentions something about the VF-22? I know this is Bandai's showcase and not Yamatos. Could someone translate? -
Custom VF-11B "Jolly Rogers with Super Pack

WOW! That was a really speedy and fantastic job! Kudos! -
Hell. I cancelled my two early bird orders with HLJ for the VF-22 and gave my business to Overdrive (even though with the early bird HLJ was like $1.75 cheaper for each). I really hesitate when giving my business to HLJ because of the time I ordered a Yamato 1/60 VF-0 Shin and VF-0S. The boxes came in super smashed down to the plastic tray and there was no bubble wrap or anything to absorb any of the damage. HLJ pretty much packed the valks in an exact 1:1 shipping box size.
-
When the order is placed.

Don't quote me on this... from what I can recall (here on the forums) I don't think there were any real cases which a group of people were affected with the YF-21. If not then you would definitely see people raising questions like... did Yamato fix broken wing flap hip joint elbow bend head tail thing, yet? LOL...
-
Sorry to burst your bubble logos... Taken from HLJ's site: How final shipping costs are calculated: The total weight of all items in your order is added to the weight of the box and packing material required for shipment (see below). Then we simply cross-reference the Japanese post office shipping charts and bill you accordingly for the weight and type of shipping you've requested. Again, some requests for SAL shipping may be shipped by EMS instead if the item is too large to go by SAL small packet, or if there are many items in the order and/or the order is particularly valuable (above 15,000 yen). http://hlj.com/hlj_shipping.html Even if you selected SAL they'll change it over and charge you for EMS when the item comes in. And the confirmation for the VF-22 doesn't apply/effect everyone, but just your order. I received my order confirmation two weeks (or so) ago when I placed it. I've ordered plenty of times from hlj in the past and this is their normal procedure.

Argghh!!! Pic links died! However, I can imagine the speedy progress. Keep it up! -
Thanks! Still snug as a rug. LOL. The mod doesn't affect the part falling off at all. Aside the part being a pretty good fit from the beginning prior to the mod.
-
If it's really limited... your best chances might be on ebay or some overpriced online shop. Honestly it would probably be the same exact thing as the YF-21, but just remolded/painted in a different color and the retooled respective parts (head, canopy, and bay attachments).

I think the issue with the bent/warped wings are not because of the manufacturing line, but from packing it incorrectly in the Styrofoam tray (with the way the plastic bag is wrapped around the plane). Upon opening... I noticed that all of my VF-25's had the plastic bag section between the tip of the wings and the feet of the plane lifted up by the Styrofoam tab on tail section the tray. This would definitely cause a warp in the wings because the rest of the plane is heavy enough or is forced down by the workers further into the tray while the wings stay afloat. ***EDIT*** The wings are straighter on my re-issue VF-25F compared to my VF-25G. -
Yea... Overdrive's prices are a bit disappointing. I would've cancelled my pre-orders from HLJ since I've have a couple of bad shipping experiences with them (they tend to pack poorly on large shipments) and ordered with Overdrive.

The VF-25G comes with a gunpod aside from the sniper rifle. Don't know if that would fill the need of having a non-sniper version. XD -

Fast Pack Knee mod: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29989 -
Among sucking up the many frustrations of Bandai not making this a better figure than what they could've actually done... I couldn't bare the idea of not being able to bend the knees on the VF-25G with the fast/super packs attached anymore and decided to mod them. I took off 1 cm from the base and about 0.8 (maybe a little more) from the top. I sawed/cut to the extent of the bend. I wanted to cut further to get the full bend, but considered the aesthetics of the modification. I would say this mod returns about a good 95% of full knee flexibility. I apologize for the blurry pics. I'm such a camera noob. ***EDIT*** Comments/Crits are welcomed. Thanks.

I was on hlj trying to see if they updated any info about the VF-22 Gamlin (no update) and saw that the YF-21 is now on sale at 10,900 yen!

I was bored (didn't have enough time to actually work on the VF-22 conversion project) and decided to take the VF-25G under a black light (UV light) and noticed the color differences were a bit more apparent (lol). ***Just a thought*** I think Bandai used the brightly/more vibrant color parts for areas where the plastic would endure more mechanical/physical stress. Where as the darker/duller colored parts are areas where the plastic would not. Conclusion: brighter/more vibrant colored parts = higher grade plastic... XD ***EDIT*** It would've been cool if Bandai just made the whole VF-25 of the same plastic quality. Would be a great sight under a black light. -
