Sledge Hammer was a great show, but I don't know if I liked it enough to buy it. Mainly because I didn't like the last episode very much but it still wasn't as disappointing as the last episode of Quantum Leap though.

Even models with a primary standard color can look great. Well, let me rephrase that, it depends upon what paint you use, but flat usually looks good. If you didn't want to worry about the black and white, you can just mix your base color to make it darker or lighter for your accent colors. Even if you use the decals on say a Hasegawa kit with very few colors and a good paint scheme you can make it look spectacular. I say go for it. If you get to the point when it is time to put the decals on and you don’t like the color, you can always just strip the paint off and start again. Good luck and post some pics when you are done.

Well it’s not like wings are good for much else except carrying missiles during space combat.

Well the gunpod has a telescoping feature that causes it to extend forward. What if instead of just extending forward, it rotates 180 degrees while it moves forward. Of course the rotation would not rotate the entire barrel of the gun or the scope at the end would be on the bottom when it was extended out. It could be possible that the different locked position fires a different way. The gunpod would probably always be unexpended in fighter mode, so maybe it is more accurate in this state. When it is extended it could allow more of a less accurate burst fire for hitting close range targets and missiles. That theory could also be applied in reverse order because you would think that a longer barrel would give you a more accurate shot; but I would think that while flying around faster than the speed of sound you would want a more accurate shot than in slower close combat. I don't know too many specific details about the gunpod so I could be dead wrong on this one, but that would explain how the lettering would always be right side up. Also, does anyone have the Design Works book handy? I have it at home but I won't be able to check until after I get off work in about 9 hours. I was wondering if it has the writing on any of the VF gunpods in the book.

I know those are different fighters, but the decal layout in that picture gives a good idea as to what I am referring to. Is it really a no-no to place them in opposing directions so you can have a "Good Side" in each mode? That all should depend upon the modeler really. If someone doesn't like how you did your model, then give them the finger and tell them shut up. I personally like my decals to mainly be the same on both sides, but that is just me. I guess I am curious which way it was in the original show and Movie? Edit: Nice answer Gearwalker. That makes a lot of sence, but I still think I am going to have it right side up in Battroid mode, just becuase I think it will look better to have the lettering upside down in fighter mode.

I just wanted to get some input on a model I am hopefully going to get to finally finish. It is the Hasegawa Battroid kit and I want to know what people think about the letting on the sides of the Gunpod. Are the letter supposed to be right side up, or upside down when in Battroid mode? The models seem to change to reflect the mode of the model. For instance, in the Battroid model, the lettering is right side up, but on the fighter mode models, the lettering would be upside down when it transformed. I am pretty sure I am going to put them right side up because I plan on building a companion model out of the fighter kit with the same color scheme and decals; but I wanted to ask for people input to see what they thought about it. I attached some images to help clarify what I am talking about. The first image would be right side up and the second would be upside down. Also does anyone know a good way to print custom decals? Edit: If anyone thinks this belongs in the "How to build Macross Model Kits" thread, by all means please move it there.

That is freaking sweet!!!!

It looks great. Most of the time, people don't notice the mistakes until you point them out. So don't worry too much about that.

I don't care what the PS3 looks like, just as long as I don't have to see any more Disk Read Error screens. I have having to take my PS2 apart just to get an original game or DVD to play.

I just hope that Cid gets to cuss his head off. I wonder if they will visit the Golden Saucer? Was that 7 or 8, it's been so long I can't even remember. -
All I have to say to that is: House of the Dead.

Yeah, I would love to get a replacement head and hands for my Prime. Also does anyone know where I can get replacment smokestacks? Prime just doesn't look right with Hasbro's original neutered parts. -
I personally enjoyed the VF-1 Battroid box art myself. The regular one, not the super or strike versions.

I am with NB4M. So what if things are slow. If the cost of keeping it going is not a big deal then what harm is there in letting it continue. If people are so worried about things being slow, then stop complaining and start contributing. Grahams not the only one who can use a scanner or take pics of new toys that come out. There are loads of useful information in the forums that could be moved to the main sight, but we can't expect the admins to do all of the work trying to gather and organize new material or ideas. The website may not be directly run by everyone in the community, but we can do our part to help out. What harm could it do?

One suggestion I have seen was on the Child Of Mecha website under the basic resin casting tutorial. He uses a Food Saver vacuum container. I am not sure how much they run, but I think it would probably a lot easier than trying to may your own. Here is the website, look under the modeling link and then basic resin casting. Hope this helps. Child of Mecha

What is with the Hasbro 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime's smokestacks? Why in the world would they cut them so short. Also what is with the battle damage? I'm not paying 70 bucks for a used toy, so I don't want it to look like one. Besdies that, I have no complaints about the toy. -
Ok, thats good to hear. I guess this just gives me a good amount of time to get my models ready for when CMC is back in action. BTW in case you couldn't tell, I really do enjoy CMC and I will be anticipating it's return.
-
Does anyone know why CMC had to stop their contestes? I didn't even get a chance to enter in one. I guess that is what I get for putting things off. Oh Well.

A USS Flag reissue would be sweet, I would even settle for the Terror Dome.

Ok, does anyone know if they are developing laser weapons, do they plan on giving the beam a destinct color so you know were your laser is going? I am sure that was a really stupid question but I had to ask it. -

I am still waiting to see a Hound Alternator in a store close to me. All I can ever find is Sideswipe and Smokescreen, and I am tired of seeing them.
