Miriya's first "completed" injection kit...
Images added to a gallery album owned by miriya in Macross Models
This is the first injection kit that I have completed. It was a learning process. No primer, no paint, just wash, clearcoat, and gundam markers. -

On mine the hips are a bit floppy and the shoulders a bit too. The necks of the lions are alright but the black lion is a bit loose although does stay in pose. The tail is staying up on mine.

Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
miriya replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
But there is no guarantee that they will come out with michael. Especially if not enough people buy the first run of Alto and Ozma. If those are bombs then they are likely to drop the line and stick with the already successful snap kits. -
Macross, You & Days Before the Internet
miriya replied to Roy Focker's topic in Movies and TV Series
1985: watched Robotech religiously on TV, collected robotech toys and played with them. ... ... ... 1999: got toys out of storage. Friend gave me DYRL? VHS. Re watched Robotech (could not get through masters, never made it to New gen). Looked up Robotech on the internet and discovered Valkyrie exchange, robotech toys.com, started obessively collecting robotech toys again via ebay. ... ... ... 2004: sold my entire toy and comic collection including robotech and starwars thinking I would never have a child and that I would spend the rest of my life meditating on a mountain. Two weeks later found out my GF was pregnant. ... ... ... 2005: my beautiful son was born. Started looking up macross on internet again. Discovered Yamato toys. Started obessing a bit. ... ... ... 2006: Discovered Macrossworld and started lurking. More yamato obession. Started up a new toy collection. ... ... ... 2007: January joined macrossworld. developed a very unhealthy macross collectables habbit. obession increased. Bought first Yamato Valk. Then second. then third, etc... Bought macross plus (both versions) Bought macross zero. Bougut SDFM...... the rest is all on this site. I suppose I could blame the internet for rekindling and enabling my macross obsession and especially this evil seductive forum. (Edit for gestation period) -
Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Plastic Models
miriya replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
how many hours did it take you? -
Didnt they also sell it as an un completed model kit too before the finished colored ones? But if it is the movie color one then it should be the completed one and it should not be cheap at all. Some HK sellers put the price really low but the shipping astronomical making it about the same as anywhere else.

I have to say that I really love this figure. It is probably the best value of any toy I have bought in the last few years. I never had any of the originals as a kid but always wanted one. My frineds had them and I would get to play with them at their houses. This sculpt though is much better than the blocky sculpts of the 1980s versions. I did say that this does not have much articulation but that is really in comparison to moder toys. Comparing to the 1980s versions this has a lot more "realistic" poseability that gives it a more "anime correct" look. It is on my desk at work for now so that I can gawk at it all day. Overall I am very pleased.

Awesome hand made diorama on ebay 130259043774

If anyone did then I would finally buy one of these monsters.

That is a good point. And thanks for using that pic. Now looking at it again, instead of those triangle stickers on the missile covers I would want to put some cool bombshell decals. The macross Kite could have been tampoed though. I think that this Destroid would look fantastic all customed up with home made weathering and custom decals. Ron5864, are you getting one?

Macross variable fighter/mecha pose thread
miriya replied to Wicked Ace's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Thanks. I was thinking to make a little diorama with that set up, the same scene, but with a little base and background, industrial looking, but I have too many projects started right now. Maybe in the future at some point. I could use a few more regults too but now I am trying to figure out more display space. -
I still have to watch Macross II and Macross 7. Then I will watch Macross Frontier all the way through again. It will take me so long to do that, I would not be surprised if Kawamori doesnt come out with another macross series OVA or Movie before then. Also I am bout to check out Last Exile, Aquarion, Go Lion, and Tetsujin 28 when I find the time. But I have to say that it was very exciting to watch Frontier and that most of us here were watching it. There was a particular zeitgiest about it that makes me appreciate macrossworld that much more.

It reminds me of Toy Story 2 with Jesse and Stinky Pete who were in boxes for so long waiting to go on display at the konichi toy museum in Japan. I feel guilty too. I am working as fast as I can on my kits and do plan to build them all but still feel bad about them sitting in my tools closet.
