Please learn from my mistake... So I got impatient and decided to start panel lining this model today using the promodellers weathering wash directly to the unpainted plastic without using a clear coat first which probably accounts for some of the problem. One problem I had was that on some parts the wash would stain imperfections of the plastic that were otherwise unseen. Another problem is that this is quite gritty stuff and did not evenly fill the lines. Another thing was that some parts got really dark and some quite light. The biggest problem was that one of the pieces got fully stained, even after washing the whole thing off with warm soapy water and a scrub brush, still the piece is now permanently off white. I decided to just wash off all the weathering wash but some parts would just not come off. From here on out I am going to use my gundam panel line marker. I have used the gundam marker on one whole sprue and it works like a charm. Even, clear, easy to use, looks great. I am not saying that the promedellers wash is not good stuff. It is. It is probably better suited to go over already painted models to give a natural (random) effect. I am probably going to use it on my already painted resin macross factory kit. But for the VF-25, which I am not going to paint, I am preffering the gundam marker. Also I am not sure if I have the patience/time to panel line all the dark parts too. There are a lot of pieces in this kit. Thats it for now.

Well the link on the yamato website shows it as being quite yellow. I hope it does turn out like that. Also seems to have a december 2008 release? http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1233

The first one is the Aoshima one and the second is the toynami masterpeice one. Cant tell from these pics but he Aoshima one is a bit brighter green. Also it has the missles under the chestplates, which are slightly different shape. I have heard that both are prone to some problems. Check out Jenius's reviews on scorched earth toys.

What is the release date on the defender?

Thanks. Well that is pretty cool. I would like to customize one up with Macross decals. And by the way I already have plans for my defender, weathering wash, clear coat, custom decals, clear coat. I am thinking that some bombshell decals would be cool for this in addition to some general UN SPACY and kites and big numbers, etc.

I know that this is not a destroid or macross but looks like one and is by yamato... Looks kinda like a monster? Did kawamori or Miyatake design this? And WTF is Hyper Armord Block?

What hoops do we have to hurdle in order to grasp at this limited edition? Anyone know? Will it be available through usual suspects HLJ, LOS, etc.? or do we need to do the Japanese address only stunt sending in proofs of purchase and ticket stubs from the last 12 wonderfests?

THE DEFENDER IS MINE!!!!! I am really stoked about this one. I passed on the Tomohawk but I am Definitely getting one.I personally like that heavy yellow color so much that I am considering doing a custom job on mine to make it that deep. Like bulldozer yellow, like a CAT loader or WALL-E. Thanks for the pics!

Am I the only person that thinks that Ozma's head looks horrible on both the model and the toy? In the Anime it does not bother me. Edit for propers englished.
