The reason they are so cheap is because the color scheme is ugly as hell. The toy is actually problem free (other than being an eyesore)!

Well looks like Jan 23 at noon (Nippon time), will be the limited preorder for members only. After looking at the pics I think I will pass anyway (I am a member though) because I like the more yellow color of the non weathered version. I may try to do some weathering on mine anyway. Will definitly be doing some gundam marker lining and perhaps more. I am glad that I did not have to obess about this weathered version very long! However we will see what happens when I see actual production pics and reviews.

For me the choice was clear. I just cant stand the visor on the tomahawk. It just looks too much like a smiley face. I have seen a kit or two in the past where the sculpt was done so that it did not look like a big silly grin but most tomahawks, not only yamato's, kill me. I love the Defender. The only thing that would make it better would be tomahawk arms!

Logos! Thank you for those pics! I was wondering if the Tomohawk arms could fit on the Defender. That is my favorite!!! My defender is in the mail but the question now is where am I going to get a set of (original colored) Tomohawk arms?!! I wonder if someone would do a recast?

That is what I was hoping. However the DX VF-25s are 36cm tall and the Quarter is supposedly going to be 20cm tall. So that would be a bummer for the both of us if they dont decide to make it larger.

The original Forbidden Planet is one of the most important and influential sci-fi movies OF ALL TIME. Doing a remake seems a bit pointless to me. It is like doing a remake of 2001. Now a prequel or sequel may be interesting but still seems a bit silly. The "sequel" to 2001, 2010(?) was quite bad IIRC.

Thanks for the link. Those pics look good. The figure looks to be very high quality. Too bad I cant afford it / want other things more. It is a blessing and a curse that there are so many amazing macross figures and toys available now.

Thats just crazy talk! I am pretty sure that most of us are physically incapable of stopping buying macross toys.

Sorry for being lazy and not reading the 3 pages of posts but is this for real or what? Is it actually going to be illegal to sell used toys? If I want to get rid of any of my macross or Tranformers can I still sell them on ebay? Could someone give me a SHORT answer that sums up the ACTUAL situation?

I am sorry but I can not be patient. I pay a premium for my impatience and the fear that yet another obscure, limited japanese toy that I want will sell out in preorders or shortly thereafter before I get my grimey little fingers on them and then spend eternity lusting after those few that are left selling for a million euros on ebay. I missed the first max factory Kurhea. I missed Meirei San. I missed too much. I am not going to miss this even if it means spending an extra $13 dollars now to assure that I get it. (not that bad actually).

Was the piece of plastic holding it up that much of a give away? I am glad I have one of those gundam action stands for mine. I got a white one to match the valk but now I am thinking that black or clear may have been a better idea. EDIT: excuse me... I guess technically it is not a "valk" but rather a Messiah. I stand self corrected.
