  1. I would love to see photo comparisons of the V.1 and V.2 side by side in all three modes. Also I would love to see a v.2 panel lined. I doubt anyone has taken the plunge yet but if anyone has please post pics. I am in California and got shipping conf from overdrive same as everyone but still no figure. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow?
  2. what is the official release date for the RVF-25 luca 1/60 DX?
  3. Thanks macrossman. You are a good friend!
  4. Thank you for the pics! It looks gorgeous!
  5. The economy and my irresponsible relyance on credit cards (7 of them almost all close to being maxed out) and inssuficient income and high expenses are definitely effecting my whole life. Earlier today I was trying to figure out which excessive expensive toys I will need to sell in order to make rent in 4 days. Then I realized that 4 days is not going to cut it. Now I am scrambling. But everytime I see my collection it still brings me happiness and I get absorbed. But I have been buying a lot less lately and it is ironic because there is more available now than ever before. At least I still have my basic needs met. A yamato SDF-1 is not going to be living in my house anytime in the foreseeable future. Oh well.
  6. yep, but you my want to wait for the new version to come out.
  7. Yes, and, Economic happiness for all by means of super capitalism leaves out two majorly important factors which make the whole theory deteriorate which are the limitations of resources and the deterioration of the environment. It is a cute theory but seriously flawed. That is very kind. Good on you mate. And I agree about the time I have wasted on this forum and hobby which could have been used for a huge variety of more important things. Sure, generosity CAN be poisoned by selfish motivations HOWEVER pure compassion does exist. I would give him the benefit of the doubt here.
  8. I dont see why they are making this as a toy then. It is cool and all but there are some valks with more screen time and or equally little or less screen time but are better designs that would be better to make. But I guess it will make some people happy.
  9. edwin3060, Thanks for that information too. Very interesting. I knew you guys would help enable my addiction! Thanks!
  10. VFTF1, Thanks for that perspective. (SO can I write off my macross collectible figures as charitable donations on my taxes this year? ) eugimon, That was poetic and true and sad. You are a good writer. And thanks for that perspective too. danth, I feel that. SilentCrossHairs, I will need to check out that episode. I am far behind in my southpark.
  11. Very funny Mr. Lingerie!
  12. You got it brother! After all I am still a graphic artist! At very least I will be keeping most of what I already have - as selling that stuff in this economy will not bring me much. And it is difficult to stop this addition. I still think that There is a Majickal Spell imbibed in the VF-1 design and that Kawamori san is an agent for the actual zentraedi who are trying to control our minds and wallets. (Just kidding - partly). . .
  13. I want to see the v.1 and v.2 side by side comparison shots in all three modes with decent lighting and photography. Anyone? anyone?
  14. QFT!!!! I know. I used to make charitable donations regularly before I started this hobby. Now it has been all about me lately and it IS indeed hard to justify $500 for a toy when that much money could do so much for a family or even a village in an impoverished area. Not to mention that I should be at least saving for me and my families future instead of blowing it on these toys (as awesome as they are). I am beginning to think that I need to back out of this hobby quite considerably and be more responsible lately. The first 1/48 valk I got I had for about a day or so before I decided that it was too extravagant and selfish and just too much money that could and should be allocated more responsibly and compassionately and I put it up on ebay. It was shortly after that that I began to jones for a 1/48 yamato valk again like a junkie in withdrawals and bought a new 1/48 valk, and then fast packs, another 1/48, a Quedluun Rau, a VF-0A shin with booster, etc. etc. and it has gotten out of control. Whe I hear about movie stars spending $20,000 on purses in one shopping spree it makes me sick to think of how that money could have been used to save peoples lives and the vain selfish gluttony that could justify that spending or the ignorance to do it without a second thought. But with every expensive toy purchase I make I have this feeling that I am not much different than that. It is a strange addiction.
  15. Can someone please post some images of a YF-24? I have never seen one AFIK....
  16. This is great news! I am almost certain that I will be able to make it this year. I am really happy it is a UCLA! I hope to see you all there.
  17. So look at this Yamato toy.... http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1245 I know it is not a figure of a transforming Mecha. Rather it is a doll that is 50cm tall and is costing 56,800 JPY. What am I getting at? Well, that this SDF-1 may be quite expensive. I HOPE that it is more around $250 range and NOT the $500 range because then I could Consider buying one but even at $250 (plus shipping) it would be more money than I have ever spend on a single toy (collectible figure).
  18. THANKS!!!
  19. Dang this looks great with super parts. I am considering getting the TV colored super parts for this as I think it would look even better than the pic below with DYRL super parts...
  20. This is going to be my first v.2 1/60 yamato valk as well. So what do I need to know so that I dont break the shoulders? Can anyone offer up some tips?
  21. I LOVE this pose! I may have to disply mine for a spell like this....
  22. Got my shipping notice this morning too. It is very exciting!
  23. It did not adhere very well in general, when carefully rubbing the excess it was apparent that it did not fill the panel lines evenly, it filled in whatever inperfections were in the plastic better than the actual panel lines, and on some randomly select pieces of plastic it stained the white to gray. I tried to completely wash off those gray pieces but they were toroughly stained by it. And after all that it just did not look very good. That was when I decided to wash off all the weathering wash and start over with a gundam panel line marker (as listed above), which was even, smooth, easy to use, and gave a much better look overall in my opinion. The promodeler weathering wash works good with other things and I think it is a useful product in general.
  24. I wish I could join you guys but I have bacterial conjunctivitis and an upper respritory trackt infection. I am headed to the doctor and am so totally bringing my SDF-1 !!!!!
  25. So totally getting this. It is the perfect size and a fantastic sculpt. So we have a size and rough release date but what is the projected price? Was that established yet?
