This creation is an abomination. Really fugly as hell. Sorry. for me this is a MUST PASS. I dont even have the slightest wish to have one. If I was given one of these I would probably just kitbash it.

This morning I decided to wear one of my macross tee shirts (black tee with Hikaru in cockpit and macross logo on front). So I go to the DMV to renew my Drivers license and the guy at the counter first thing he says is, "Awe! That is my favorite anime!". Turns out that he used to rush home from school to watch Robotech when he was a kid, told me about his veritech models and his friend who has an SDF-1. When he took my drivers license photo he said, "I am going to try to get Rick Hunter in the shot too". So that was cool because most people ask me if it is a transformers shirt or a speed racer shirt (WTF?). Next thing I go to whole foods to get some lunch and the (very attractive) young woman working at the coffee bar section says, "cool shirt!". So I said, "Thanks! Do you know what it is?" and she said "of course". Turns out that she has watched both Robotech and Macross and is a huge anime fan. So we talked anime for quite some time while my son was eating pizza. All this stuff just makes me happy. A couple of weeks ago I was at the academy of sciences museum in SF and someone was wearing a macross Kite shirt with UN SPACY on it. I yelled out, "hey! Cool shirt!" and almost everyone in his group turn around thinking that I was talking to them, but he didnt. So I yelled, "UN SPACY! COOL!" He then turned around in almost disbelief. I wonder if I will see any macross costumes tomorrow. In Santa Cruz almost everyone dresses up. Well that is my macross journal entry for the day.

Graham, Will yamato come out with the $500 version later? can you chime in?

This is gorgeous! I want one bad. I could see just doing something really simple to it like a single decal on the chestplate. I think it looks great as it is too.

That is absolutely correct. The Kotobukiya mechanical chain base. The ones I used were numbers 9 and 10. They look awesome painted up, something I have yet to do but hope to get around to some day. Other members here have done it.
