Thanks for the Kawamori illustration. Thanks for noticing the avatar. My favorite video for sure. I am a bit of a Bjorkaholic as well. Also a huge Miyazaki fan myslef and dig your totoro avatar. It was a bit difficult to see what is going on in the background of that poster. If you do have a better shot with less glare that would be sweet.

Great advice about the "greebies" I did not think of that!. Maybe a conglomeration of things would work well. Also great ideas about the starwars capital ships! Those have great texture! Also, the PCB! Doing the walls in PCB may look really cool! Even unpainted it would make a bit of a statement. Thanks.

Yikes! That really bites. Now I too am scared. I suppose that I should not push my luck with them much more.

Thanks for the links. Those are very cool. They may be a bit too small at 16cm but it does say they are linkable so I may try that. Maybe I can just get one or two to test before getting a whole bunch of them to make a nice 1/48 hangar.

Mr. March is on to it there! Good call!

Thanks. Do you know anywhere that I could get that Aircraft carrier set? I have seen the crew set available but not the one with the truck.

I just laughed out loud! Thanks everyone!

I have personally had great experience with tisinc99.com . I bought a Queadluun-Rau, a 1/48 VF-1s Roy, a Stealth Super and Strike parts set, a max factory Ignis, and a toynami DYRL Roy figure from them all on separate occasions and had great experience with each transaction. Good communication (except that they did not answer my last email), fast shipping, products coming in perfect condition. Maybe I am just lucky though?

Yeah, if everything was all in one box, the Regult battle pod, with all the extras to make the missile light and heavy, and some exchange parts to make a scout, as well as an articulated zentraedi warrior to crouch inside then I am sure that most of us would buy at least one if not three. It would be much better than doing a basic and then charging extras for add ons because people would get too upset and then boycott. A whole Zentraedi Line (in 1/60 scale) would be awesome: The Regult (with all the parts as above) The Glaug (with Kamjin inside) The Nousjadeul-Ger The TV version of the Queadluun-Rau and even just some kick ass Zentraedi warriors (with the purple suits and helmets but better than the matchbox ones). Probably all dreams that will be shattered by high costs and low popularity or some other good reasons. I just want some Zentraedi for my Valks to battle with. Is that so wrong?

Thanks everyone. What is a "booby-duck"?

Thanks everyone. I have downloaded 2 different fansubs including the ANBU and, holy macross, they are so much better. I mean, now I can really watch Macross Zero and find out what is going on. The chinese bootleg I had was so so so so so far off with the translation and no matter how many times I watched it, it still did not make any sense. I am going to burn the ANBU sub that I downloaded to disc so that I can watch it on my TV hopefully. I am really excited to watch it all the way through now. I wonder how many people only see the bad subtitle chinese sub and think that is it. I know that I did. I do have one frined who is a SDF Macross fan who said that he watched just the first episode of Macross zero and had to stop because he lost interest in the story. Probably because the subs sucked so much! It would be great if the legal stuff could be worked out and they could release a proper DVD of Macross Zero for English speaking people to read. Maybe they could even use the ANBU sub? What a shame that the only available DVD has this atrocious sub!

Thanks for the tip about the plastic styrene products. That diorama that you linked to is awesome! Do you know what kit the yellow transport vehicle came from?

Oh, Like a backdrop? That may work out nicely if I can find the right image. Thanks.

Thanks. . . Yeah, I thought that the clamshell bucket did look out of place too. I included the Crane for a feeling of movement and activity but also because the color worked well. Good point on what it is doing. I was thinking of putting the Super Parts engine cover there instead of the gun but it would not fit with the clamshell. Maybe I should just take off the clamshell and rope the cover on. I think that you are probably right about the tractor too, thanks. It does look old stlye. I wanted something carting the bombs around though. Maybe I will leave the trailer that the bombs are on and take the tractor away. So where do I get a tarmac surface? Are there pre-built ones or do I need to buy materials and paint? In either case if you could give me a link to a supplier that would be great! Thanks.

This is my first try at a Diorama. I have all the content but need an environment. I do not know what to do. Like not at all. Even the ideas I have, I do not know how to implement - ie materials to use etc. Can some of you pros or not so pros give me some advice? I was first thinking of making some sort of box to put it all in with two walls (touching) and a base with the base part looking like part of a landing strip or runway or hangar floor (whatever that looks like) and then the walls looking industrial high tech (whatever that looks like). This is the vague idea that I have. I do not know how to implement it. I do not know what materials to use or where to get them so any advice from you macross world forums would be appreciated. You will of course recognize the DYRL Roy's VF-1S with the Stealth Super Parts exposed. Then there are two different ground crew sets. One is a hasagawa and the other is I think an italeri. The crane is a die cast CAT crane that is 1/50 scale but it is close enough. I thought that the color schemes all work out so I want to have an environment for them that will complement them somehow without distracting from the foreground. Here are some photos of how I am thinking of laying it out. Let me know what you think.... [attachmentid=43182] [attachmentid=43178] Here are the Mechanics [attachmentid=43177] Roy [attachmentid=43180] Zentraedi attack!!!@! This is just a joke. I do not plan to put those clunky things in there. But if Yamato would make a 1/60 or 1/48 (I know that is too big) regult battle pod then I would consider displaying here. [attachmentid=43181] Also, as a newbie, how do you get the little models from falling everytime you breath or walk around your table? I do not really want to glue them into place or have a giant mound of goober to stick them in. Any ideas? Thanks.....

Hey thank you Kung Flu and Valk1J. That is very helpful. I will check those out. I do really want to have a good version of the DVD though. ...So I got my copy of the Macross Zero on ebay but it was sealed and looks professional, although I guess it may be a bootleg? How do I get a non bootleg DVD of Macross Zero with english subtitles? Do you know a place where I can buy it? Thanks...

The subs on Macross Zero seem to be really confusing and difficult to follow. I have heard that it was first translated into chinese and then from Chinese into English and that is why it is so bad. I have been told to Torrent a fansub but I am not slick enough to figure out how to do that and my internet connection is sssslllooowwww. Does anyone have the fansubs as a script that you could PM to me or post on this thread? I would love to print them out and watch with the better subs.

Just because the Regult is not in Yamato's current future plans does not necessarily mean that they will not choose to include them into their future plans, does it? I wonder what it would take? Does anyone here know how they decide on what products to produce? In the Macross world there seems to be an impossible amount of mecha to make so it must be hard for them to decide. Also, in another thread some people are talking down about Yamato-toys and I understand the frustration with the problems that some of them have but I really do think that they have produced the coolest macross toys that I have ever seen.

yeah, a 1/48 elintseeker or ostrich would have a much nicer sculpt than the 1/60 and more detail and that would be nice. Also a 1/48 VF-1D would be sweet but how about some new stuff? A 1/48 Hikaru Fan Racer with Rick and Minmay that comes with a giant Tuna would be cool! Some civilian stuff like the A-510 Sports Car? A Lockhee SF-3A Lancer II or a Siokorvsky Comanchero Attack Helicopter? Still, the one I really want is a 1/60 Regult to battle with in diorama.
-
Ohhhhhhh..... That would be gorgeous! That is one of my favorite battriod mode designs. Kawamori is a genius.
-
Yeah, I agree that it should probably not be any more difficult than the Q-Rau for them to produce a regult. It seems to me that the design is even more simple than the Rau. I personally would rather see a regult battle pod with attachments for the missiles and the scout add ons than a Glaug but a glaug would be cool too. I do not know what Yamato's game plan is for the future but I do not see this being so far fetched. By the way, the SV-51 Nora type image on yamato-toys.com looks pretty sweet. I can not wait to see a painted prototype. That is a Valk I will definitely buy. I remember the first time I saw MacrossZero and saw Nora's Valk and thought, "Oh poo! That would make a freakin sweet figure!" I am a sucker for tactile 3d aesthetics! P.S. I am a newbie and did not know that my cursing would be transformed. It is like a variable valk mod put on to the word recognition? I would not have chosen "poo" but I guess that gets the point across....

Custom 1/48 VF-1S Minmay Guard "Paris Act" by wickedpr1nce
miriya replied to Roy's Blues's topic in Toys
That is probably the sweetest, cleanest custom valks that I have seen! Great work! ...and yes, Yamato-toys, if you are listening, please produce one of these for us! -
Thank you! That is beautiful. I love the look of the final product! Very sleek!

Thanks for the report and the photos. I like the color scheme on this now that I see a real photo of it. I am really wanting to get a 0A but can not choose between the first release and the Shin with Ghost. Since you have both what would you recommend? Also if you have more photos of your new Shin0A I would love to see the whole thing in B mode to scope the color scheme as a whole.

Good point about the size... yeah the 1/60 would be sweet. I have the matchbox and the exosquid one and they are just so clunky. I think that Yamato could make a nice elegant slick looking one maybe with a "fastpack" type of add on for the different types of missile launchers and the scout antenna with a swappable door for that too. I agree that too much money would not be great but considering the cost of a 1/72 kit, if you can find one, and the time to assemble and paint, I would be willing to spend $80 or so for a 1/60 by yamato, especially if it came with the missiles and add-ons. Also it would be great with a squatting Zentraedi warrior inside the pod! By the way, thanks for the variable line art! I have never seen that! Was that in the original series?
