By the way mad llama, I have to warn you about the highly addictive nature of Yamato Valkyries. . . I personally obsessed over looking at photos of them online for years before finally taking the scary and expensive plunge into my first valk, feeling horribly guilty about the high cost and what I should be doing with the money (and time) instead. I thought, "Well I will just get one and then I will get it out of my system and I will be happy and pleased and can stop obsessing over online photos of Valks and will not have to get another" or something like that. So what happened was that the Valks are so freakin sweet that I just cant get enough. Now I have bought 5 yammie valks and the quedluun rau and still all I can think of (other than sex of course - oh yeah and food) is how I can get enough money to get more valks. I am not saying that getting one is not pleasing. On the contrary, it is a great feeling to have one in your hands and to see it in three dimensions, it is totally worth it, but just consider yourself warned that it may turn into a very expensive habbit. good luck....

I am sure that many members have already requested these and that these come up in other forums but I just got so excited when I saw these on the macrossworld site and had to reiterate the awesomeness! Since I am not a modeler I have to pray that Yamato will make these. The color schemes and paint jobs on these are perfect ...

Is there existing anywhere a Zentraedi alphabet or language dictionary or font or even just some images of zentraedi markings? I want to paint some zentraedi markings on a custom and do not know where to look to get some zentraedi. I suppose that I could copy the markings on my old matchbox regult but it would be especially cool if I could choose words appropriately by using a zentraedi to english dictionary. Can anyone here help with this?

Yeah, that does look good. It still looks a little bit off white as the pilot seems to be true white but this is the idea. I would love to see a yf-19 in batt mode in really true white and still having the gray, black and the red parts as well.
-
Does this color scheme come up in macross plus or anywhere else? Would yamato make a yf-19 in white? It would look better cast in white plastic as opposed to painted.
-
I just played with photoshop to get this color scheme but I think that the yf-19 looks great as white. I wonder if anyone has tried this as a custom? I would love to see how it would look actually as opposed to virtually via photoshop. If anyone wants to make or has already made one of these I would love to see photos of it. If I could afford it I would buy a yf-19 right now and commission one of you master modelers to customize it to the white color scheme. I will keep playing lotto and see what happens.

I agree about the Roy. It is a beautiful piece of art. I put stealth fast packs on mine and it is just stunning to look at! Although if you want to play with it a lot and not display, the fast packs may get messy. With mine the front part of the booster comes off when I play to much and when it falls the cover comes off and all the little white parts fall out and then I spend the next 20 minutes trying to locate all of them. Now I just display this one. I had a VF-1j Hikaru and it was beautiful but I personally find the vf-1s roy to be an overall better composition. With the black and yellow lines against the white, it is very nice. I found that the Hikaru looked less detailed than the roy because of less painted lines and in batt mode the black vertical lines on the calf of the 1s looks great where as the single red horizontal line on the 1j seems to look sparse. Although if you do panel lines on the 1j it would fill in the detail and may look great. They are both great toys. I personally never liked the angel birds. The Cannon fodder is cool, though not as much as roy or Hikaru. If it is going to be your only valk then maybe think about what character you like best. For me, my first yamato valk was a miriya because she is my favorite and I like red. The Macross zero toys are gorgeous and my vf-0a is the most beautiful batt mode valk that I have but if you want to play with it and transform it loads of times and pose it all the time then it will be Russian roulette with the shoulders and biceps. Hope this helps. Art is subjective though and my opinion is not everyones.

So last week these were listed on HLJ as discontinued and now they are not present on the site at all from what I can tell. What is the deal? What does it say on the yamato-toys.com page? Can anyone who reads Japanese let us know if they are really discontinued or not? Are they available for sale from yamato? Thanks...

Thanks for the photos! Gorgeous! Who is the character in the first image above (b01.jpg) standing in front of the valkyrie? Is that figure available anywhere? I would love to get one. Also the vf-1sr head, if that is available please point me in the direction because it is fantastic and I would love to custom one of mine too. -
I am interested in the DVD. Please sign me up! Thanks.

Does anyone know if they are going to make a VF-1D version? That is one that I would love to have! Also a YF-19, a VF-4 Lightning III, and a SDF-1 TV version would be cool. What would make me really happy too would be if they made some zentraedi too like the regult or even a zentraedi warrior! Does anyone know if these are all pipe dreams or if they are possibilities?

I just got a early bird special at HLJ.....
-
That is so funny. I was just on HLJ about to blow my wad on one of these b'cause I just got paid (very little but who cares!) and saw the discontinued status and thought, I have to go on to the forums and post something. Of course the thread had already begun. Well I do hope that they do get more in stock before my money gets blown on chocolate, cognac, cheese burgers, and gashapon!

So is the miriya kit going to be available to MW members as a finished model? Just curious. I would buy one....
-
Great work! I would love to see the model once it is painted. Are you going to offer these to the members?
-
I would definitly buy a 1/48 vf-1d two seater with Hikaru in his orance civilan suit and Minmay in the back seat just like in the first two episodes. That would rock!
-
Oh, so you are the samurai monkey! Great work! I would love to get one of your regults some day but right now I can not afford it espcially since I would have to pay for someone to glue and paint it for me, as I have little experience in that dept... But I will keep you in mind for the future. Thanks. Your sculpt is definitely the best I have seen.
-
The 1/48 valks are solid now. I am pretty sure they have worked out all the flaws on those.
-
I may have been hallucinating but I swear that when I was in the supermarket a few months ago the music that was playing was some American pop song with the exact melody for Do You Remember Love. I was shopping and thinking "hey, wait a minute, thats not Minmei!@" Sorry if this is off topic....

I looked on the hlj site and could not find the vf-0s replacements. Do you know how we can get these from them? I already ordered a fv-0a Shin with booster and it should be here this weekend. I will check for stress marks and will post images to this thread in either case but in anticipating bad shoulders I am wondering how to get those POM replacement parts. Thanks.

OK here are two mock ups. You will all probably think they are crappy but art is subjective! I like the simple one more myself. I am sure there are more skilled designers on here that could do better. But here goes... [attachmentid=43280] [attachmentid=43281]

Thanks for the uplifiting hope-shattering note. Although you may be correct. So, How much are your 1/72s and can you offer them completed not requiring any glue or paint on the part of my lazy arse?
-
I do not know if they will or not. I would like to see them do a minmei guard or a vf-1d in 1/48. I would get those.

WOW! That is a really sweet diorama! Great details. It looks like it is almost totally handmade, not using kits? I dont think I will be able to make anything that cool but this is great inspiration.
