  1. Yeah, Exo, It is my favorite music video. Chris Cunningham, the director of the All is Full of Love Bjork video, was a mechanical engineer before becoming a director and actually made the robots for the video. There is some CGI of course but there are actual robots too. There is a making of video on a DVD called the collected works of Chris Cunningham. It is only about 10 minutes long or so (cant remember) but it is pretty cool. I have always loved robots, I love Bjork, I love that song (especially the video version - much better than the version on the album!), and I love seeing robots making out! It is ascetically gorgeous, with the lighting and the contrast. How brilliant to make robot sensuality!! I had a feeling that some people on the MW forums would appreciate it.
  2. The color must be off on that camera. Just look at the color of the YF-19!
  3. I think that the lighting was bad in some of those photos and that the gold would turn out nice if it is displayed with the right lighting. This photo made it look really great IMO.... And I am definitely getting one, even if I have to sell my . . . guitar.
  4. If you have to go with dubbed version of SDF macross go with this one instead of robotech. http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=243
  5. Next after Macross Plus is Macross 7, Macross 7 Dynamite 7, and Macross 7 the movie. You can get them all here http://discountanimedvd.com/detail.asp?dvdno=14607 but it is subbed and I do not know if there is a dubbed version available. Debatable after that is Macross II Lovers again and Macross II the Movie but some would say that this comes right after DYRL. Can someone more knowledgeable let me know too. There is an english dub of the movie link http://www.amazon.com/Macross-II-Dub-Hirok...a/dp/6303695345 and the OVA Lovers again is very hard to find. You can maybe torrent is somewhere or find on ebay. Mine does not have a dub version only subs. Another cool think is the 20th aniversary DVD which is not even subbed as far as I can tell. It actually crashes my computer but it is worth it for all the cool scenes. Link http://discountanimedvd.com/detail.asp?dvdno=1637 Maybe some other members can correct me on some of this stuff?
  6. Ok so first is macross zero (not yet available in dubbed verision - best sub is ANBU) Then there is the TV show Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (best is the original Japanese with english subtitles) Then there is Macross Do You Remember Love (DYRL) the movie which has several versions available. I got this one and am happy although some other members may be able to point you in to the direction of a better quality release. Link is here http://discountanimedvd.com/detail.asp?dvdno=117 Then there is Macross 2012 which kind of goes simultaneously with SDF Macross TV, the movie, and then a little tid bit more story that happens after the DYRL movie. It is mainly Minmay music videos with some flash backs and some added stuff. Link here http://discountanimedvd.com/detail.asp?dvdno=220 Then there is Macross Plus OVA with 4 episodes and then a movie version that is those episodes condensed with stuff taken out and a little bit added. I personally like the OVA best but I own both and enjoy both. I really love Macross Plus! It is second after Zero and SDF Macross for me. It is available in Japanese with English Subtitles as well as english dub. OVA Link http://www.amazon.com/Macross-Plus-Collect...1148&sr=1-8 Movie version link http://www.amazon.com/Macross-Plus-Movie-B...1148&sr=1-7 More soon....
  7. First in the timeline is macross zero, which is a tie at best macross ever with the original show for me. IT IS JUST AMAZING!!! WARNING: Do not buy it from ebay or an anime store. The only commercially available macross zero DVDs contain the WORST SUBTITLING EVER! I just could not understand it! It is screwed up because it was translated from Japanese into chinese and then from chinese into english and it is just rubbish! There is a perfect translation available fan sub version by ANBU which is the BEST!!! You can not get this on DVD but you can torrent it to your computer and burn a DVD from there. You can find this on many torrents around. I think this one has it here: http://old.sharemanija.net/modules.php?op=...le&sid=8837 More soon....
  8. Hi there Sqidd, I must somehow convince you to watch the 36 episodes of macross in Japanese with English subtitles. This is the BEST way to see it. You can get it here for $39.99 http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=93 The original Japanese show newly dubbed into english is available but really just watch the above. It is available for $34.99 here http://www.robotech.com/store/viewproduct.php?id=243 Of course you could watch Robotech. After watching the entire Robotech macross saga and then watching the original Japanese with english subtitles. I formally renounced Robotech and became a macross purist. I grew up on Robotech and had loved it for decades but after seeing the original with eng subs I now think that Robotech is really cheezy crap (with a huge amount of sentimental value). I implore you to watch it in its original form with eng subs. It is quite amazing how HG and Carl Macik butchered the show. Macross timeline coming up.....
  9. Oh I do hope so! If not someone here can sculpt one and sell to the members!
  10. Sqidd, I think you have a nice collection too. The bottom shelf looks great! I personally like when the valks are spread out more with space because then you can see each one individually. If I had more space I would do that too but I have to fit all my figures in one place so that I can hide them somewhat hostile forces! Maybe try some different camera angles to make your collection look better in the photographs. Like if you zoom in on one at an angle so that the others are in the background but out of focus that is always a cool effect. Or you could use a macro lens and get some close ups of some of your favorite details of the valks. I look forward to seeing more photos of your collection once the new additions arrive.
  11. I saw one of these "giant" Vf-1js at a toystore in LA on the third street promenade in July. If I remember correctly it was a Miriya color. It was on display and it was pretty ugly. It looked like a poorly made 1/144 scale model blown up and it looked quite heavy although I did not try to pick it up. You would be better off getting a modeler to do you a large custom or hire a sculptor. I mean for that money you could 3D scan a 1/48 yamato in your favorite pose, or a nice 1/72 Hasegawa model and have it 3D "printed" in foam core or wood or whatever material you want and then paint it or have an artist paint it and that would look much much much better. Actually that would cost a bit more than 3Gs but it would be cool! With these 3D scan and 3D milling machine "printers" they can do any scale. You could make one 8 feet tall! Oh, how sweet would it be to have a valk in batt mode done in bronze!? Put it in the middle of a coy pond with bamboo fence? Macross Zen Garden!!!
  12. Thanks. Valks, Wine and Women! If I only had more money and more space!!!
  13. Hey, thanks. I would love to but I am in California. If you want to buy me a ticket to MI then I am game!
  14. If you are not referring to the Banpresto Claudia, then yes, the other Shammy has a flower girl head and twisted wrists!
  15. Me three, I have bought quite a bit from tisin99.com and have always been satisfied. But there are definitely people here at MW who have had very negative experiences. Hobby Link Japan is great. they are www.hlj.com and they usually have the best prices too but there is shipping from Japan so sometimes it just evens out, but other times it is still cheaper. They have the fast packs in stock right now for $48.85.
  16. I personally am not too keen on the camo especially after seeing the 1/48. But the more subdued camos may work or a gray/white snow camo. But if they would do a pink camo I would soooooo go for it! Like these samples here...
  17. So I have finally set up my collection, at work. When I get a nicer place I will get a sleeker cabinet and display them more elegantly with hopefully more unique Valks, figures and other toys..... I hope you enjoy the pics.
  18. Thank you Graham for your lobbying efforts. I guess most of us agree that we want to see the yf-19 in more color schemes.
  19. Great work on that. I like the gray one and the two white ones the best.
  20. Yup, that one is great! I would go for that too and the yf-21 prototype 1 color scheme is great too, imo. I actually have never really loved the yf-21 omega blue with yellow stripes color scheme so much.
  21. Oh, please do! If you do make a custom I would love to see photos when you are finished.
  22. Yeah, that 21 scheme is just gorgeous. Art is so subjective. I really like that supernova theme. And I really do not like the angel birds theme or the low vis camo but other people love them. Funny! It must be hard for Yamato to choose which themes to go with when there are so many different artistic opinions.
  23. Sketchley, Thank you very much! That is perfect! Exactly what I was looking for!
  24. Thankfully I am single but I do have to hide all my macross paraphernalia from my baby's momma who, if she found out what I have and how much it cost, would deliver unimaginable suffering upon me for the remainder of this life and likely to continue on to future lives. But if she does find out I can blame at least one 1/48 vf-1 on you, LOL!!! So does that mean that I have to spend even more money getting GBP because of you!?
  25. ruskiiVFaussie, Those are some sweet poses! Where did you get those hands for the valks? Looking at your valks makes me NEED another 1/48 vf-1! You just cost me another $200!!!
