definitely good idea to research the law or talk to a lawyer. I am pretty confident though that the design itself of the VF is protected under copyright even if you yourself paint it. Selling shirts would require a licensing from big west or harmony gold or whoever. However copyright is lifted for political satire. Using your mel gibson reference, South Park was able to use mel gibson's name, character and face in an episode in parody of him for political reasons. It was really funny by the way if you have not seen that episode I recommend it. I myself did oil paintings of Milia and Misa and I was thinking about selling them but just gave them to my dad instead. I am pretty sure that if you paint a VF and keep it for yourself, give it to someone or trade it you will be in the clear. But I am NOT a lawyer. There was a Chinese restaurant that made duck and their logo was a really crude rendering of Donald duck and I seem to remember that they got sued by Disney for that.

I really love Macross Zero as it is. Some of the most gorgeous designs by kawamori IMO and really great animation with a meaningful story. I know that many people on the forums dislike the story and think that the points about modern civilization destroying native cultures is too "wussy" and just want more fighting. And to each their own but not everyone feels that way. One of the things I like about SDF Macross is that the story, along with having really cool fight scenes, has a message about getting beyond war, and finding peace. Call me a wussy or a peace loving hippy or whatever you want but I think that shoji Kawamori and the other creators of Macross were trying to get that point across. Sure I love the Mecha and the fight scenes too, they are beautiful works of art and it was the robots and explosions that got me into macross when I was a kid. As far as Macross Zero goes, One of the problems with the story is that the translation into English is really bad (depending on what version you have). If you want the story to make more sense watch it with the ANBU subs. That helps a lot. Personally I liked the Macross Plus OVA much better than the Movie which seemed rushed to me. Still if they made a Macross Zero movie I would own it and probably love it but I do not think that it is necessary. What I do think is necessary is a proper english translation on DVD. It is a drag to have to torrent the ANBU subs. I would love to have Macross Zero in high quality DVD with the ANBU subs (make the font just a tad bigger) and even on HD or BlueRay too. My four cents. . .

I just have to add that the reason that I can laugh so hard at these is because I had my comedy glasses on, thinking that this is comedy. But if the German Kid and the Britney guy are for real and not acting for the camera then it is not so funny and quite sad. I just had to state that because I realized that I felt guilty when I looked with my reality glasses on. Anyway, all I can say is that I hope that they are acting.

After looking at your pics of Revy for several months now in looking at MW collections, and then seeing this thread, I finally ordered one from HLJ yesterday. The funny thing is that, also because of you (heehehe) , having more than one, I thought, "I really need to order more than one so that I can pose a few of them in awesome poses". Does anyone know when Yamato plans to release the Nora Type SV-51? Is there a release date? I can not read Japanese but it seems like their website does not have it on the release calender for 2007. I cant afford it yet anyway but I will be right there for the preorders! So does anyone know when they plan to release it? I thought that they were going to in 2007 but it seems like maybe the 25ths pushed her back? hmmmmm......

thanks. Yeah, I looked at most of the new movie toys and was not impressed. There were only a couple that I thought were decent and this was one of them. I am actually quite impressed for a $10 toy that is fully transformable. I think it looks pretty good in robot mode but the car mode looks a little cheesy. Yeah, the ultimate bumblebee looks great. I want one but I am trying to save up for a yf-19 w fast packs and fold booster, a yamato SV-51 Nora type, a 1/48 vf-1j hikaru, a 1/48 vf-1j stealth, a few gundams, some anime figures, rent, car insurance, my son's education fund, and so forth but I may end up getting it anyway! there are some things you cant live without, for everything else there's..... (getting screwed by interest rates) master card. I think that unreasonable obsession with macross that makes me buy $200 toys when I can barely get rent together is part of the fun!

Hey, thanks for the photoshopping. I was wondering what it would look like with the fp armor. Still do not like the look of that black plastic. If they had made it in the dark grey color of the fast pack plastic, with maybe some white and red stripes (sparingly), that would have been great. I am glad you guys like these and even more glad that I do not becuase I so can not afford these.

I am so with you on that. I agree completely that the super nova and minmei guard would have been much better and I would have bought both of those whereas I have no interest in the black and gold ones they chose. But, you know art is subjective. Lots of people do like the black and gold so I am glad that they are happy with it. I do still hope that yamato will make a yf-19 super nova and avf-1s minmei guard.

I dont know.... IMO dont likey the 25ths. I think that the 1/48 VF-1J Stealth looks waaaaayyyyyy better with the variants on black and dark gray. If they had done the yf-19 with those same colors (as the original vf stealth) instead of the all one black, and then included the red stripe I would have liked that much better. Also not much of a big fan on gold although I love it on the nora. The 25th VF-1S almost looks pirate-ship-like and I think that it may be cool to do a custom on one getting rid of the words tampoed on and putting some pirate designs like skulls-&-cross-bones and anchors and a plank that the micronized zentraedi could walk, maybe coo? maybe not. The photos of th 25ths somehow look cheap to me. You may proceed to throw your stones..... Now! . ...Ouch! I used to like to get stoned but now it just hurts....

So will they make hentai figures of the macross ladies?
