  1. I would prefer Yamato too but I thought that Bandai has the license. Is that confirmed or rumor? I forget.
  2. Thank you both. I am sorry that I checked this too late to miss that auction. No, I do not have the kit but I saw a different auction and I did like the box art but was wondering how the kit looked. After seeing the second auction pics, it looks like the kit is decent but the box art is much better of course.
  3. I am not certain but I think that it was a Link from Valkyrie Exchange's website.
  4. lots of new players will play all regions but you have to check.
  5. Sure that is true but Bandai may have gotten "exclusive rights" for some period of time, which is quite common. Does anyone know? I would much prefer to see Yamato making these but maybe Bandai will impress and surprise? We will have to see.
  6. I personally think it is quite ugly and tacky. I do not like the gold on black and the markings are silly at best. If they had done it like they did the VF-1J stealth with black and two tones of dark gray and no silly markings then that would have looked a lot nicer. I will either get the original color (FP version with the fixes) or the hopefully upcoming low-vis and or supernova-ish scheme. But some people like it. Art is subjective and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But some people's eyes are really screwed up!
  7. Do any of you have this Misa Tsukuda Vinyl Kit and completed it? I am curious as to what she looks like completed and painted. If any of you have it could you post some photos? Or if you know where some photos may already be, could you guide?
  8. ohhhh,,,, hmmmm,,, well,,,,, I guess,,, But.. THEY are not selling in the US! Some other naughty people are! So does that mean the HLJ is breaking the law by selling us these? I do not understand. I know that the whole HG / Big West / Studio Nue thing has been sticky for the last 20 years but how would a book like this be a copyright infringement? I wish they could all just get along and sort it out so that the fans could enjoy Macross more freely. If it was not for these legal absurdities we would have good subtitles for Macross Zero and the new HD release of DYRL would come with English subtitles too. I wonder if Carl Makec (spelling?) hates the non-Japanese Macross fans. Especially ones like me who got hooked on Robotech and then switched over to Macross. I find that people like me have a love/hate thing going on with him. Anyway, back to the point, I think that there should be no problem with customs but I am not a lawyer. Also if they just put out a book with all the other stuff, the ideas, CADs, Line art, Prototypes, and finished products that would be cool. Of course much cooler with customs too. I know that many people have mentioned that the photos of the final products are a plenty online and that some of us already have all the variants but for me, I do not have most of them and although I do spend hours gawking at yamato macross photos online, I would really like to look at them in print. I was thinking about even enjoying a catalog in print so that I can crave, compare and BUY MORE VALKS!!!!! /Rant-Rave
  9. Where did you get DYRL in English?
  10. Thanks guys. I am happy with my collection (not saying that I do not want more! ) I think it is really great to be able to share each others collections this way. This thread and the display your collections threads are my favorite because we can live vicariously through each others sweet collections and get ideas for displaying.
  11. I too would like to see new stuff but for me, I am not a modeler so I can not paint them myself and personally do appreciate the repaints. Sure too many repanits of the same mold does get old but for the YF-19 so far there is only the original and the 25th (which I do not like) so I think that they could get at least two more repaints out of this for us. Plus, for me the low-vis and/or supernova-ish scheme is more attractive to me than the OVA version. But of course to each their own. I am happy for you that you know how to paint and customize, that is a skill that I would love to learn one day.
  12. Most of the photos on the Macross World page are pretty good. Of course the members would have to provide full resolution versions for print at least 300DPI.
  13. It is too bad that you do not like the YF-21. It is such a pretty bird....
  14. So for me it is about midnight on a Tuesday night and you are probably just getting off of work on a Wednesday evening, yet we are both on the MW forums and drinkin up!
  15. Sure, I want all the characters in the Macross universe as figures. I have been wanting a Laplamiz and a Gloval for some time now. I am so sorry that I missed out on the CMS Max DYRL (UN SPACY) Pilot suit (I have the Meltrandi suit version) and also sorry that I missed out on the Hikaru one. But there is definitely lots of uncharted territory. How about Breetai and Kamjin too? And a Guld? And of course a Misa Flightsuit (there is an unofficial one that I want to get). Where is CMS now? If you are listening to us please come out with some more macross figures!!! BTW: You know that you can get a nice Isamu figure (non-articulating) from CMS corp. Twin Moons Anime has them here http://www.tmpanime.com/index.php?main_pag...roducts_id=1527
  16. If you do open the second one then please post the differences between the two. I am curious. BTW, You cant go wrong with chunky monkeys.

    SV-51 CF!!!

Is there a Pilot with the SV-51 CF? I do not see one in the yamato photos. Will it be like a beige colored Ivanov or something?
  18. It looks like I am not the only drunk contributor to the forums tonight!
  19. So I finally found a Mao and so she is cuddled up with shin...
  20. Here are some Revoltech poses...
  21. http://www.hlj.com/product/KNM13693 and http://www.hlj.com/product/KNM13694
  22. I have the Devil Starf, and the Angel Arnval and love them both. Sure it was a nightmare putting them together but once in a good pose they have stayed. I also got the wafferbunny thinking that it was a complete figure because the ebay seller I got it from made it sound that way and I was really bummed that it required a body. Then knowing that the Santa Claus Tsugaru was an option kit I got that and put it on my Angel Arnval thinking that it would be bad ass, which it kind of is but I like the Angel Arnval better by herself. The worst thing is that they do not offer the basic bodies in America and the ones I have seen on ebay cost almost as much as an Angel or Devil so why bother? The line is too expensive. I like the customizability and part swapping but the option kits are absurd all they need is a few more inches of plastic and you have a whole body but instead they make you buy a whole new figure. Probably one reason why it did not catch on so well. Regardless of all this I just ordered the Ach "Misspeada" figure.
  23. These are on HLJ right now.
  24. wow, reading that made me sad. I actually was not impressed with my first 1/48 either. So I sold it. Then I got another one and now I wish that I had my first one again! It does sound like yours has some issues but some of them may be able to be fixed. I know that after spending almost $200 on a figure (after shipping) that you expect a figure that does not need to be fixed. When I got my first 1/48 I showed it to a friend and he was blown away. I told him that it cost me $150 and he said, "wow! I cant believe that they can make such a cool figure like that for so cheap!" and I was thinking, "Huh? I agonized for months before dropping a load like that on a toy! What do you mean so cheap?" but after thinking about it, it is quite incredible what yamato has done and the 1/48 sculpt is so beautiful. I would imagine that if you can do the fixes, apply the stickers (or decals if you prefer) and do some cool poses that you will fall in love with it. These things are not cheap and are an investment in time too but it can be lots of fun. Worst comes to worst and you want to get rid of it then you can put it in the box and sell it on ebay for probably more than you bought it for! Even, open and displayed people get a decent dollar out of these on ebay. Maybe you could do what I did and sell this one on ebay, with that money get a different one, and then want another VF-1S again. BTW, I think that HLJ probably has the most current issue at most times of these. They do run out regularly and restock but I am not sure about this point. There are some sellers, very few, but some who know which release it is and advertise it. Also it seems with some of the Yamato figures, that it is really the luck of the draw. I got a Vf-0A with good biceps and shoulders (although the feet are a little bit floppy but it still holds whatever pose I try). In fact all of my yamato macross figures are mostly free of major flaws but others will get ones with various problems. Anyway, I am sure that you will do what is best for you. My $0.02
