OK Kicker773, This is Miriya logging in. I have done a little more work on this. Here is what I am thinking of as the VF-1D (normal version - Virgin Road to follow) Front, Sides, and inner flap (respectively as follows) . I have yet to do the Back part. I had an idea to use a screenshot from episode #2 or a montage of screeshots from that episode for the back. What you think of that?

Sorry for the stupid post. I would like a spartan or defender or phlanx. I suppose some Zentraedi warships or scouts would be cool in this line too.
-
I hope that they make destroids in this line. But no hemorrhoids or asteroids.
-
I am guessing that it would be about 2 or 3 feet in diameter? Whatever it would be I would definitely need more shelf space if it was in 1/60!
-
I would like to add to my ever expanding wishlist, a Zentraedi Quel-Quallie scout.

Hey Kicker773, Sorry I have been out of the loop on this project. I should be able to do more in the next few days. Will update soon. Thanks.

You must see this film! If you want you could rent it first but you will probably end up buying it afterwards. It is a brilliant masterpiece! Watching it you would never know that it was made in 1984. It is timeless! Totally. I am thinking about the same. Because of my son, I have watched Totoro literally hundreds of times! Next in line for best Miyazaki films would be Spirited away, Princess Monoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, Porko Rosso, Laputa,... Oh they are all so great! I am a big fan of his works! -
as for the VF-1, the Yamato 1/48 are the most elegant, detailed and accurate sculpt of any VF-1 ever and beat the toynami by far in articulation and poseability. The new yamato 1/60v.2 line which will be coming out later this year (Summer?) may be a contender. Yamato also has made absolutely brilliant 1/60 VF-0 line, YF-19, and SV-51. I highly recommend that anyone who is interested in Macross and Macross collectible figures (or toys if you prefer to call them that) and has the money to spend get at least one Yamato 1/48 VF-1 for their collection. It is truly a masterpiece, not just one in name.

Both of course!

My latest addition is Nausicaa and Moeve. She is crammed in there as I am really running out of space! I have been wanting one of these for a long time now and finally found one on evilbay. It did run a bit of a pretty penny but was worth it. Nausicaa is one of my favorite anime films. -
Bless you guys for talking me into this!!!! Actually I appreciate the advice. I know that if I do not get it then, a year or two down the line when it is unavailable, I will regret not getting it! So often I am damned if I do or damned if I dont.

I think that Graham had at one point said that Yamato was more likely to do the orange nova than the blue. We will see if they ever do either.
-
So did I but now I cant afford it!!!! Hopefully I will get some type of miracle windfall or some majickal thing like that within the next 10 days so that I can get this. And of course now that it is ready for me to buy, I am having second thoughts. I really want it but it is so expensive and small. And of course that is what everyone is going through with this collectible figure. If it cost less or if it was bigger then it would be a no-brainer (spelling? actual word?) for me but I am agonizing a bit over this purchase.
-
That is sad. I have the 1S and the 1J so maybe I should get the 1A while I still can. thanks for the update!

I hadnt heard about that. So no more Revoltech macross in the future or just no more sold outside Japan? I was hoping that they would make more.
-
I am not sure but it looks like this one has been weathered too. The panel lining, there are several techniques from ultra fine mechanical pencil to gundam marker to modelling style lining with weathering. I am not an expert tough and I am sure others will have some concrete advice. Also there are several threads about lining and weathering where you can get step by steps.

In that pic the YF-19 looks kinda chubby to me or like he just pigged out at an Indian buffet and needs an alka seltzer. I actually like the 21 and the 11 and will probably get them. If the 19 doesn't change sculpt then I may pass on that one. I am probably one of the few who are excited about this. I like Battroid and I cant afford to drop $600 to get these all in 1/60 so for me it is nice. However I will probably eventually get them all in 1/60 as well but it takes more time to save up that kind of money and to rationalize that kind of spending for me at least. I hope to see more color pics of these. Does anyone know about a release date?

I don't think I have ever been so hopelessly addicted to anything in my life than collecting macross (mainly Yamato) figures. And I have tried quite a lot of very addictive substances! The mind is powerful. It can be your worst enemy or your best friend. The mind can be stable, firm, determined, disciplined and wise but it can also irrational, severely attached, unreasonable, seductive, sly, and cunning. If you know your mind and you make a solid determination I think it is possible (but not likely) to buy just one Yamato, but you will have to be really strong, like a ninja, or samurai, or monk or something. Then again you could just give in and say, Fu&k it, I am going to dive in to the deep end and before you know it you will be like Sqidd who bought something like 15 yammies in a matter of a few months! And Sqidd is happy. He loves his collection and so do we. What you don't want is to go over the deep end and then regret it. So I would advise that you just make up your mind ahead of time if you are going to just get one and be honest with yourself and happy with one or if you want to get into a very expensive habit and enjoy that.

I never imagined that I would be happy that a toy that I wanted would be ONLY $100! Strange times indeed. -
I can only imagine....

Thanks! I could not get the lighting right on this one and did not have much time to mess with it. You can see more of my collection on the "Display your collections" thread, scattered along in the second half mainly (I think). There are many pages of great collections there. I also have more on this thread including my favorite Milia poses. HERE, and HERE Thanks buddy!
