It would be awesome if it came with a removable figure but I somehow doubt it in this small size. Even though the Regult only has two limbs, I think that because of its dynamic design, and the six joints, you could get some really cool poses. This will be the first real decently poseable articulating regult and I am excited for that. The squatting "parked" position. The flying position with legs behind. The running position. The contra-posto position. I think that there is a lot of possibility with this one. I am still hoping that yamato will make a 1/60 Regult with removable articulating zentran pilot too. That would be the ultimate for me.

I dont know. I kinda like the Typhoon I better but I would like to see Yamato make the II as well. Agreed about the gross difference between Priss and the Typhoon. She is painted and it is colored (and cheap looking) plastic. I would rather that they were both painted. Is Yamato going to do a whole Bubblegum Crisis Line or is this a one time deal?

I really do hope that this means a whole line of 1/60 Destroids and of course some 1/60 REGULTS and other Zentraedi goodness!

Thanks for the photo. That really shows it in a different light.

Yeah, does paint wear off with transformations? If not, how?

Maybe they hate modelers. 1/72 was good, 1/48 was good, lots of other kits in those scales and accessories and great stuff for dioramas, but 1/60? WTF? I like the size but there is nothing else in the world in that scale! I agree that 1/200 is a bizarre choice when 1/144 is so standard and and about as small as one ought to get. Maybe it is some sacred numerology joojoo?

Many bodily fluids escaping every part of my body in awe of this masterpiece!

Off topic but is Yamato going to make a 1/60 PT VF-0D? I really want one of themses.

It could be done decently with great care by spray mounting very evenly and cutting really well without getting bubbles or folds. Of course it could be done that way very easily but would look pretty ghetto indeed. Well, could get around part of it by printing the 3 panels that are 14.25 by 14.627 on a large scale printer and then the other 4 panels on a normal scale printer. However to print on high quality paper with a high quality printer will still run a bit pricey. I can check to get some quotes for this. I can still shop around to see if I can get a better quote for a full color large scale print at 70" by 32" and hopefully find something that is a lot less than the first quote I got for $150. If any of you have local digital printers maybe see if you can ask them what they would charge for a full color print that size and report back? I have not given up yet.

I am excited about these too. I have not voted yet because I want to see how they plan on painting this. If the Tomahawk is weathered then I will probably pick one up. I love that 1/200 YF-19, and the weathered 1/48 roy looks nice but I want to see a closer up version. If it is tampoed with FP and does not smear then I am in for one of them too. Definitely a very exciting time to be a macross fan!

Second that!

Dude! They are doing a MILIA? NICE!!! I did not read the whole thread just looked at the pic. Definitely excited. Will be doing a Fraulein Asuka x Revoltech Milia kitbash FOR SURE!!!! Also excited for the mac+ figs! But I have to say, most excited about the regults!

I smell a VF-4!!!!!!!!!!! -
I am VERY excited about this!!!! REGULT ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is a good idea. I would love to see this. Post some pics up here when you have some progress. I was also thinking of using the Fraulein Poco when it comes out to kitbash with another Revoltech VF-1.

Great! Thanks for the help! I will do that and report in a week!

So you like that idea? That would certainly be the easiest! EDIT: Heck, I could even just email you guys the files and you do the printing on photo paper or have it done at your local shop. That at least saves the shipping costs.
-
thanks. Got this after posting my last one. Yes, this may be one option.

Thank you for the input DND. That is actually quite helpful to me. First off, what is shipping for a 1/48 box alone? I have paid more than $20 to have my 1/48 sent to me so that would leave no budget for the box printing. I am certain that there are no companies that will do one-off large scale full color printing on non-corrugated cardboard for $20 or less. When unfolded and unglued the box is about 70" by 32". Even to digitally print on "normal" paper stock at 70" by 32" would cost more (probably a lot more) than $20. I just got a quote for printing for this thinking that at minimum could spray mount the paper to the box (not optimal) and they wanted $100. I do still have some searching to do and have not given up yet but it is starting to dawn on me that to make a custom box for a 1/48 yammie that is an actual box, looking like a real yammie box, may be more pricey than we expected and more expensive than anyone is willing to shell out. Other options may be to print on quality paper stock in large scale (If I can get a decent price) and spray mount to an existing box, or to print on quality paper in sections to glue on to an exisitng box in sections. More research needed.

Thanks! I will let little Han sit in there for a week!

I have just completed quote requests with 5 different online companies. I will report when I get replies. I hope to make our first box relatively soon.

Well I have found one local digital printer that can print on Satin Photogloss 7 mil stock which is not exactly cardboard so it would be a bit thinner and bit less "hard" than the actual yamato box. He can do the large scale. The box when it is all layed out before folding is about 70" by 32" but he would charge $150 per print and then I have to do the cutting and folding myself (extra charge). So this quote seems a bit too expensive. Hopefully I can find a product box prototyping company.

I have started to look for a company that will do digital large format printing on non-corogated cardboard with no minimum orders. So far no luck on websearch so I will look to local print shops. I will report back when I get any positive results.
