  1. After some exacto, sanding, saw, and filling (have yet to clean up the filling)...
  2. unpreped, unpainted, just taped together for mock up visualization....
  3. The parts laid out. . .
  4. Thank you Rob! I appreciate the info. I will try to register again and if I have probs I will PM you. Thanks.
  5. Please pardon my ignorance but why was the old strike a pose thread closed? It was one of my most favorite threads ever. Is is like gone too or is it still online somewhere accessible but not able to add?
  6. I will post progress as soon as possible. I have taken some photos. I have cut some resin. I have sanded some stuff. And of course have made some mistakes that are easily fixable. I am so very excited about this project. I am hoping to have all my parts preped and ready to primer coat by Saturday. And again I could easily have just glued this thing together without much work and without painting and it would still look great. You will see when i post my prep pics on Sat. . .
  7. Thanks for the heads up Ryno. I did go to Home Despot and looked at the dremels and became overwhelmed with anxiety and fear. I ran out of that hell hole with a toddler on my shoulders!
  8. Sweet! I really enjoy bushmills too. I just discovered my new favorite (affordable) scotch. It is called Highland Park and it is from the Orkney Islands (Where I have been a long time ago). So I got a little razor saw, some MMD white putty, and a mask and have continued on my Macross Factory multiscale kit. Of course after a few shots of Jameson and a corona. Also I have just soapy washed my Glaug kit getting it ready for priming coat. However I am seriously considering constructing this kit mostly unpainted! The parts are moulded in good colors and I thought of maybe just adding a little bit of paint here and there while leaving the plastic as it is. Of course that would be susceptible to UV discoloration which would eventually suck. In any case I will be doing this glaug in a non-cannon scheme even if I do a full paint up. Thanks again everyone!
  9. Looking Great! I look forward to the finished version! Keep it up. (EDIT: ...with some Tamiya modelers viagra, "Ensures that your kit finishes before you do!")
  10. Great poses. Great figures. Great custom and of course great photo! Sexy valk photography! Thanks!
  11. Ah. Sorry about that. Yeah my mac is from september 07 so it is a newer version intel based macbookpro. I have not tried it on my g5 or g4 yet. But that last explanation made sense. Bummer about planned obsolescence.
  12. Your mac should be able to play it. I think I have an idea of what may have happened. Maybe there was an error in the torrent download? Something happened like that for me with the AiA episode one which will not play, it is all just a green screen all the way through. Maybe try to download the file again? Or try downloading from a different torrent site?
  13. I remember when movies were a nickel and whores cost a dollar!
  14. Hey thank you all for your help with these questions. That is very helpful. I guess it is off to the hardware store after work for me! 1. Dust mask 2. Dremel tool 3. jewelers saw Then off to the hobby shop 1. Tamiya filler Then to the liquor shop 1. Single malt scotch Then to the workbench!
  15. That is strange because I played the AiA sub mp4 on my mac and it was perfect. I just opened it in Quicktime. But maybe because I have Final Cut Studio on the computer that helped somehow? Have you tried QuickTime?
  16. 3. what is a good putty to use on resin kits? Either generally by type or specifically by brand. Thanks.
  17. I am pretty sure that they are off white. My VF-1S looks off white to me but I may be off so not positive.
  18. Thank you! I was actually thinking of rigging up my display with battery powered LED lights especially for the Dioramas. Do you know of a good online source? Pointable or coved would be sweet.
  19. Ok so I am a noob to the model kit thing. If there is a thread like this already then my bad just please redirect me. Otherwise maybe a good place for new comers to the hobby can get guidance. So I will start with a couple of questions here. 1. When sanding and cutting parts from a resin kit do I need to use a respirator or mask or is it fine to just freeball it so to speak? 2. What kind of tool is good for cutting large chunks off of resin parts off either from massive mold overflow or frankensteining? Would a small hack saw be good? I am sure that I will post more questions here later. Especially since I am in the process of attempting some stuff. Thanks.
  20. I know that it was mentioned in a previous thread at some point but what kind of light is best for collection displays and not yellowing? Was it that florescent lights were bad for yellowing or better? And what kind of bulbs were best to use to slow yellowing?
  21. I have wondered what Kawamori-san's valk collection would look like. I am sure that it would bring most of us to our knees and make some of us cream our jeans. It would be like looking directly into God's Vagina! (Please forgive my wretched, wretched soul, damned for eternity in a blazing hell fire for such blasphemy)
  22. Funny! Yeah, first they are going to get us used to paying $150 for the super/strike but then price the 2 seaters at $175! Ouch! They know that we will all budge even at that price. Talk about prophetic! I know. Out of all the variants for this line the VF-1D is the one I crave the most because I need one to pose in battroid mode next to my V.1 1/60 which looks good in fighter mode but lacks in battroid mode.
  23. Nice collection Hal9000! I like the look of the Blue and grey ghost on that VF-0A. EDIT: And another congrats to Macross Man for the supportive wife! Lucky dog!
