1/48+fp's, 1/60, And 1/72 Picture Gallery Pt 2
miriya replied to VF-18S Hornet's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
So I have been running out of room to display all my figures but had a corner available. There is a lot of great stuff. Most of the really classy stuff is expensive like the glass corner shelves that come out of the wall and look like they are floating. http://www.floatingglassshelves.com/ Go more than halfway down THIS page and the one called "curves" is super nice. Anyway, it was beyond my budjet so I looked for the cheaper versions and found something quite decent that I just ordered from http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.as...mp;SKU=14276831 and it will do the trick (hopefully). I just wanted to share this with you all as I know how limited space and displays can get. The floating ones are really cool because you can put them in a corner above other stuff and still look cool. EDIT: THIS one is cool too but could not find a price. -
macrossman, I like how you put the GBP only on the legs and shoulders. I have never seen it done that way. Looks pretty badd assss. By the way thanks for the clip and the ammo, just arrived. Now I am going to blast some motherjumpin alien scum! Or just let my son blast monsters.

Lucky. I would totally move there and be very happy. I visited once and went to the north sea jazz festival in Den Hague and to a reggae festival outside of amsterdam. I just love that country. We sailed from England to Zee Brughe in Belgium and up through the inland waterways and locks all the way up to amsterdam. What a trip that was! Anyway, sorry to take the off topic tangent. -

So do you live in holland? -
That is dope! You really nailed it with that one. It is perfect. I may have to try some super sculpey. I have not used it since 1999. I am 31 years old, have a son, and I collect Macross toys and other bizzare anime girl figures too. [Hi my name is ***** and I am a macrossaholic. "Hi *****". ]

Word! Or Laplamiz or Milia or flightsuit Misa or Claudia. I would love a whole line of macross Fraulein figures. They are making a billion idol master figures (WTF?) so why not Macross? I am extremely excited about the Yoko Fraulein though. But yeah, Rovoltech, what about the Macross Ladies? Bring it on!

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Vegas, did you use HDR technique in those? -
What materials did you use to make this?
-
Do it at an angle from back to front. That is what David reccommended and it helped me.

That is one of the coolest customs I think I have ever seen!!! Thanks for sharing. how much? you sell to me special price I promise good deal please.

Damn! you are right. One of the main reasons I am on this forum every freaking day is that my parents did not buy me the SDF-1 when I was watching Robotech as a kid, nor the Takatoku VF-1S Super. Over the years it got so pent up that obession ran wild and my sould was robbed by Yamato Toys. Now I am a living dead toy zombie who eats HLJ boxes for breakfast and sleeps in a pile of packing peanuts and ebay receipts. But yeah, I may test it on my POS 1/55 KO. If Bandai reissues Milia in this run then it will be half what it would be on ebay at this moment. Plus it is fun. My son was so impressed when I took the thing apart and then again when he saw all the bits painted. Got to love the awe in a 3 & 1/2 year olds eyes!

I am so tempted to take it there but I am trying to slow down on my instigating thread closures. i do not want to be unpopular. Or do I? . . . No I wont. I think it is a worthy topic. I have several friends who dont like anime because of all the wierd sex stuff and little girls and tentacles. And I always tell them that not all anime is like that. Then I show them My Neighbor Totoro, or Spirited Away, or Nausicaa of the valley of the wind and they are won over. But even Miyazaki's Kiki, has her panties showing quite a bit and that is considered to be a bit of a feminist anime. It probably is largely cultural and for us the age of consent is 18 (some of us maybe less than that depending on state) and so all the little girls stuff does freak us out. I personally do not like the pedophila and rape in most hentai flix but that is why I do not watch hentai. So far Ranka does not bother me. I have only seen through episode 13 though.

Thank you.

Thanks for the great review Jenius.

Thanks. You are right. When I do my next 1/55 custom I will definitly sand the hell out of everything first, especially the parts that rub like Jung recommended. For this one I am not going to paint the white stripes because my son wanted it all red with no white. I actually like the way that the decals or tampo printing whatever are still coming through and the panel lines too. It gives it a certain quality that is cool for this. My next custom will be turning a jetfire into a zentraedi themed/colored valk that I am calling Kamjin-Hijack. It will be the kind of purpleish zentraedi colors and I will apply the decals from my regult on to is. For that for sure, sanding everything first, then primer coat, then masking and applying paint variations one color at a time. Also I will be experimenting with the takatoys cockpit and puttying it up with the lower half of the short jetfire nosecone. That will be a challenge for sure. So Skull-1, do you think that the clear coat or the future will help keep this thing from chipping to all hell? Another thing I was wondering was if I did have to start all over after my son plays with it for a week and it is chipping all over the place, of stripping it down, sanding it to hell and painting it with a heavy enamel automotive engine paint. Is that stupid or just crazy?

I wish they would re-release the stealth fast packs. I have a set on my Roy and it looks great. Long live 1/48!!!! -
It has not gone up on HLJ yet though. Do you think that it will? I hope the TV Hikaru does not sell out in preorders before I get my foot in the door. Nor the VF-1D, especially that. I must get those two or I dont know what I will do, maybe cry for weeks on end and eat chocolate until I overdose.

By the way. Tips are welcome...

She fits well and I think I will leave the cockpit in this color without any further painting. If I had a clear canopy I would paint it and maybe put some details but... well not sure yet...
