Is anyone getting the four gurren lagann gashapon sets that are coming up? I am on the fence. The Kotobukyia figures are hot but a bit pricey. hmmmmmm......

1/48 VF-1J Milia red with red fastpacks. That is my top choice and I do own it. nobody is asking but my second choice would probably be 1/60 VF-0A Shin with booster. I also have that. Third would be Nora's SV-51. However when the new 1/60 V.2 VF-1D comes out I may have to rearange things here.

Thanks! I am glad that you noticed. That is from Ichigo 100% gashapon set. I got the set for a different character for member newbie to make me a valk girl that he created but the other girls were nice too and that head was a perfect match. The gashapon set is getting harder to find but there are a couple up on ebay (item 330244939801 and 310075052305). However I bet that if you looked around at other gashapon sets you would find a head that would work. For me it was worth spending the $36 for the materials to make a valk girl and a kim mod.

Has anyone else who got one of these kits, built it yet? I would love to see what other people do with theirs.

Thanks. I love the way these two look together. Yeah, Nora is the biggest toy I have (I am pretty sure she is bigger than the SDF-1). And indeed it is a tiny little milia in the corner. It is one of those Super Deformed ones (A christmass gift from Misterryno).

In doing this project I am constantly wondering what kind of paint the toy companies use that sticks so well after years of use? Is is some industrial poo that only toy manufacturers can get?

Looking at the panorama pic and seeing all the cool details of the 1/48 Ron5864 diorama on the left I am realizing that I need some more detail or at least some ground crew in the diorama on the right. It is containing 1/60 scale valks but I think if I use some 1/72 ground crew I could pull it off still. That is another project!
