It is always easier for a big company to this sort of thing. A small company like Yamato and Arcadia won't have the resources to do this at a good cost, IMHO.

Why can’t people remember that this is the closest way to how Kawamori envisioned it...

For some reason the 1J will always be my favorite. I really love the 1S, and the others, specially the TV versions. I hope Bandai goes through the TV versions first. Yes, I'd still get the movie versions, but TV was my first love.

Good diagram there Xigfrid. I hope Bandai can make a fun, slightly durable 1/48 as Yamato did. It is still by far, my favorite Macross item.

I do recall some people broke the back pack hinges or something. Out of my entire 1/48 collection nothing has ever broken. Except for one of my CF valks took a dive on my hard wood floor and broke the headlaser, and yes, it was my fault. My jacket caught the edge of it's gun and dragged it down as i turned around. I had panel lined it, so i always had it next to me. I never fixed the laser, since it magically disappeared, and it is still one of my favorites. Other than that, none of my 20+ 1/48 have ever broken anything.

I see your point No3Ljm. Now that nose /radar thing, i do see as a complication, lol. Unless it is there for the GBP. I am not a huge fan of the radar cone thing, it has been done before. My old 1/48 are actually pretty sturdy, when you think how many times i've transformed them. Still, I am pretty sure it might have to do with the future GBP release.

I don't see the big complication here. The original art had, as we saw earlier, the legs swiveled to the "hip position" and detached. Many would call this a proper step, but now it seems to be a hassle?

Let's remember... There were others.... IIRC, Wave and other studios had versions of VF-1 toys in Magazines. They were expensive and or very hard to build. I think perhaps the Yamato founders were inspired by this, to create their own. Later on, Bandai's interest was renewed in part by Yamato's efforts, and due to the ongoing Macross series they had contracted. I recall finally getting the original chunkey monkeys when Bandai re-released them. This is while Yamato was getting hot/popular. The first time i held my first Bandai 1/100 HM Hikaru 1J, it made me think of a shrunken 1/48 or a 1/60 V2[double elbows]. Am I the only one who felt a connection?

There is so much wrong with this moive, i can't even watch it again. Also if you noticed, the lasers in TLJ, arched. We all know projectiles lose altitude with gravity and wind resistance, on earth. When the 1st order is attacking the rebels, the lasers "arc" down into the ship's shields. (during the slow space chase) -
Thursday 3:32pm in Japan time. So in 22 minutes?

Thank you! I am working on the acces ramp and on the sides. It is big, and it is taking me way longer than i expected. It sure does look like a pile of junk now, so i am happy. Oh and it is missing the attack damage. I am making it as movie accurate as i can. -

These are the 3.75" inside the Legacy Collection millennium Falcon. Yeah luckily they are not crossed eyed, lol. I am in the process of weathering the Falcon. Slave IV, do you have any Slave 1?
