Wow @sqidd that's some great run you had there! I have never seen the world at 200mph in a land vehicle, it must be crazy fun... and scary, lol. Specially in a motorcycle. I love riding bikes too, but sadly you can't predict everything on the road. I am personally done with motorcycles, TBH. Not only everyone around you is too distracted or not paying attention, it is also the elements that take the fun out of it. It was always too hot, or too cold, or too rainy. Or the rocks and hitting your skin and making you bleed. Or the feeling of rain needling your skin at 60 or 70 MPH. Or the time a Styrofoam cooler flew off a truck's bed, and it went up in the air spinning, only to suddenly land on my front tire, exploding instantly in a million tiny bitty pieces. Chances are if i tried to avoid it, I would have killed myself in dense rush traffic. Or the time this car cut right in front of me, and it almost made me crash. I caught up immediately to give the driver a piece of my mind, only to discover it was a actually a Nun. I said nothing, I just looked at her angrily, and went on my way. She definitely didn't see me, or it was a motorcycle hating nun, who knows. Or the time there was oil in front of the gas station i was arriving at. It was night time and it was rainy, so no chance see it was there. A truck had just left that gas station and it was leaking massive amounts of oil. Or at least that's what the gas station attendant said as a defense, while i was nearly yelling at him, for having such a nasty spill all over the station. I loss control of the bike, only to regain it as i nearly crashed. Cars are my thing now, i am not going back to bikes. Honestly i felt like i was paying for the darn thing, and i was using it too little. It is an unforgettable feeling of freedom and near immediate speed, while you are holding for dear life, and i'll never forget that. Honestly I don't feel my life is worth someone else's addiction to texting.

Wow @sh9000, you have a massive car collection. I think @tekering, @Slave IV, and @spanner does too. Fantastic! Oh man the metallic blue is so nice! I only have an Old Merc, a few Subarus, and a Batmobile, lol. -
LOL, Definitely a group of "monsters" as in ugly! OMG these things are hideous!
-
Look at that poor droopy nose cone. The waist line is way lower, long and forward. This is a disaster.
-
I've always wondered if this was a joke.
-
This, lol.

Don't you have to be super careful for the swing bar to remain in one piece during transformation?
-
Yup, I don't want to sound like a party pooper, but this is my main issue with the DX. LOL, i love the "bandaid" comment, as it is accurate. We were so close to the near perfect Valkyrie. I know this has been discussed before, but i wish Bandai would have gone the line art way. Where the legs swing down, and they detach from the chest, and reattach to the nose cone. Or simply do it the HMR/Yammie way, as a solid bar and call it a day. I wonder if someone[shapeways] could make a solid swing bar that could replace that flimsy break away swing bar.
-
Agreed, I don't like the swing bar as it is in the DX. It is like transforming something made out of glass. It sort of takes the fun out of it, doing a balancing act so the darn thing wont come apart. I can transform any of my 1/48 Yammies with my eyes closed. You try doing that with a DX, it is impossible. That is the testament of the Yammies, fun, well engineered Valkyries. [except for the shoulder thing on the early 1/60]
-
I agree for being a 10 year old design, it is mighty solid in all modes.
-
HA< i haven't noticed the arm thing in mine. Funny, I actually dislike thet little hook thing in the Yammie, 1/60, and I never use it.
-
No, i am referring to the rear part in fighter mode. In fighter mode, where the back pack meets the legs. It has nothing to do with the swing bar.

I need to recreate this scene with the buildings. I love your low to the ground camera position. This is the good stuff! I do have to say those hands are like 10% too large. -
I personally can't really choose between these two. Both the YAmmie 1/60 and the DX are beautiful to behold, but what i don't get, if why the 1/60 and the DX wont do the fighter mode like the Yammie 1/48 does. That part, were backpack meets the legs at the back, is the best part of the Yammie 1/48. It is tight, and it looks just like it did in the animation. Even the HMR has that tiny gap back there for some reason. The weirdest thing is I have seen that little gap even in non transforming fighters. Maybe i am just neat picking...

I did ride a bike a few years, but in Houston, you have to have 6 eyes on your head, and trust that everyone around you is an idiot. You have to assume no one saw you, and that everyone will get in your way, because no one saw you. I did get rid of my bike, but the feeling is like no other, you and your engine, and all of the dangers of the road, you body will face, since you have no safety cage around you. One thing i loved was getting to 70 mph in the blink of an eye, which is still exhilarating! Now i am just into light and nimble cars. While the WRX is not the lightest of them all, a curb weight of 3152 lb is still on the lightish side. I do want to get mea miata, just to ride around. Miatas have no power, but they do turn and drive very crisply. Maybe get into a racing series later on. It is all about carrying the speed through the corners, and that's so much much. If you still drive a motorcycle today, the only thing i can say is, just assume no one know you are there. That's why i tell my friends to ALWAYS use turn signals. You might be saving a motorcyclist's life.
-
it is 95% beautiful, except for the joint where the arm meets the chest. . It is just a square bar, lol. Other than that, it looks amazing, but I'd never have one... Everything i own MUST transform, if it is meant to transform. Just me. Hey @jenius, I know you're a master scaler. What scale are the GN-U DOU non transforming Macross plus bots? Are they about 1/82 scale?, as they are about the same size as the HMR when you stand them next to each other. I have the weathered trio, which will soon be for sale. Or maybe I'll keep them, but they don't transform

As much as i love the advancements on the DX 1/48, the Yammies hold a very special place in my collection.

I stand corrected.

Amazing work, wow! Yes I thought the laser canon was a bit long too, but I am fine with it. Your work is fantastic, wow congratulations!. That's just perfect plastic sculpting right there! A little distraction, or excessive force anywhere, and it would have been ruined. Great job!

It is amazing how these animators drew an awesomely articulated Valkyrie out of Kawamori's art. Here we are in 2019 recreating these frames with the newest computer assisted "toys". I know the animation had a lot of errors, but that's what now makes it special. Frame by frame with sweat tears and ink, they made this possible. I rememebr thinking as a kid, they will never be able to make a proper transforming toy that could recreate the poses from the show, but here we are today.

The tamashii stands are only for the HM & HMR line.
