Kerensky and his followers left and traveled for awhile. Eventually, they found planets to settle and then became just like the Inner Sphere, warring with each other. Eventually, Kerensky's son, Nicholas rearranged them all into the clans. There's got to be a synopsis somewhere on the web.... found it History After months of deliberation, Aleksandr convened most of the Star League forces still loyal to him (over 80%) and departed the Inner Sphere. After years of traveling, the massive flotilla of Star League refugees came upon five marginally habitable worlds, the so-called Pentagon Worlds (due to their near-pentametric relation to each other). There Kerensky's followers tried to forge life as they knew it once again, and for a time it seemed the Star League would still exist, far away from Terra, although this was not to be. Within a year, cracks were beginning to form along faction lines and soon the Pentagon Worlds were at war: an eerie parallel to the carnage unfolding concurrently in the Inner Sphere, a conflict now known as the First Succession War. At this, Kerensky prepared to gather the precious few troops still loyal to him, when he suffered a massive heart attack and as his dying wish, Kerensky left the reigns of the Exile Star League in the hands of his son, Nicholas. Kerensky's son took 800 of his best warriors and 600 civilian families away to a planet known as Strana Mechty ("land of dreams" in Russian) where he forged a new order. This order was known as the Clans. Those who possessed exceptional military skill became the breeding stock of what would become a hereditary ruling class. They embodied the pinnacle of combat prowess, and were put through a variety of competitive and selective processes with each generation to produce virtual super-soldiers. They were charged to protect the weak and powerless, but primarily to take back the Pentagon Worlds and, some day, the Inner Sphere where they, the Clans, would reinstate the glorious Star League. In the beginning there were twenty clans, each with forty warriors. Over time, three clans were Absorbed (Clans Widowmaker, Mongoose, Burrock), two were Annihilated (Clans Wolverine and Smoke Jaguar), one was Abjured (Clan Nova Cat), another was split in two (Clan Wolf), and two eventually merged with Inner Sphere nations (Clans Ghost Bear and Snow Raven, respectively). Today, the Clans are almost wholly unrecognizable, compared to their forebears. Though Clan history speaks of twenty Clans and the Eight Hundred Bloodnamed, Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht encountered information on board the Wolf Clan flag vessel, Dire Wolf that lead him to suspect the number may have been as low as six hundred or greater than eight hundred. It is possible that the practices of Reaving and the ilKhan's right to primogeniture were later attempts to retcon this information. It is also likely that the Annihilation of Clan Wolverine and Absorption of Clans Widowmaker and Mongoose altered the Bloodcount.

$150!! Ouch, even discounted, it's like $130. Anyone know what brand the goggles are? If they are decent, I might pick it up, if not, game only for me. -
that's about all I can remember off the top of my head. I hope I got it right.

Yeah, the Dragoons picked up a bunch of old Star League era mechs from caches on their way into the IS, but they were surprised that their mechs were still more advanced than the rest of the IS who let their tech knowledge get lost. They guarded their mechs and resupplied when needed. after the fourth succession war, the dragoons were ordered to cease all contact with the clans and prepare the IS for a clan invasion. The new game takes place in 3015. The Dragoons came in 3005. In 3015 they were working for the free worlds league during the marik civil war, so they could be mentioned about in the game. after that they went to work for house steiner, so i don't see them getting close to deshlar in 3015 since it's right next to house kurita. either way, i'm happy to have a new mechwarrior game to play. now i need to find my cable to hook the pc up to the big screen again.

I'm ok with just the name Mechwarrior. Now, we're in 3015 on Deshler. I'm kinda glad they are limiting the variants and making it harder to make my own variant. It makes you make do with what you get. Given the timeline, it's harder to get mech parts, mechs were passed on, etc. I don't think most people are going to be thinking about Activision's Mechwarrior from 1989 when people mention mechwarrior today. Most gamers today are too young to remember back that far anyway. No pulse lasers, I don't think the Inner Sphere had pulse lasers until after the Clans showed up. I think I still have mechwarrior 1 on floppy somewhere. Oh where are you Gideon Braver. I doubt it will run on my system now. I think I tried to install it once on WinXp and the fights just moved so fast, it was over before I could do anything. I've got 2, 3, and 4 and all the expansions lying around here. Hopefully when MekTek.net releases the free version of 4, it'll work better with vista. I haven't tried to load any of the MW games on a vista machine yet. I kinda preferred the MW4 mech building over the MW3 version since the MW3 version let me put anything I want anywhere on the mech. Pulse lasers in the legs??? I thought it was odd, but I did it anyway. I wonder if my Battletech I and Battletech II would still work? I know I have those somewhere too, I just found the box and manual (old style copy protection, ha!) for it when I moved, but the discs are somewhere else.

yeah, my order was for two 1/60s and a super fast pack, shipping was about $63 for EMS. I haven't gotten charged any extra tax by customs for any EMS or SAL mail before. I order stuff out of hong kong monthly for work and only ever had one customs call on one order. -

sale is going quick, EMS shipping kinda kills it, wonder what SAL would've cost me. I think EMS cost me $64 for two valks and a fast pack. But it should be here by the end of the week, so I can't complain too much. -
d/l'ed Broken Steel the other day, just had to go find a save file that was close enough to the end that I did Anchorage and The Pitt with. I just finished the game again and just woke up to start Broken Steel. Will get back to it when I am off the next three days.

I agree, 5-Series Gran Turismo, sucks. I was planning on getting a 535 next because my 325xi is too small, and was waiting for pics/specs on the GT. I will probably wait to see more pics of the other 2010 5-series before I decide to get one. I just don't get the hatchback 5... -

I end up spending my money on lightsabers and paying Roy's Blues to put them together. Else, any overtime I get, I put it aside for Macross/Star Wars stuff. Usually, but since we're in the process of moving, any overtime gets put towards paying for both houses until we get the old one sold and in this market, that may be years. But I find that I've been spending too much money on my stupid car. It needs nothing, but I keep spending money for stuff. Just dropped a bunch on a snow tire/wheel package (yes, I know it's Spring). I could've bought every 1/60 Yamato coming out with the amount of $$ I spent on snow tires/wheels for my all-wheel drive car.

Any chance of Yamato releasing different colored heatshields? Don't really want to pick up a DYRL-1A Max just to get a blue heatshield for Max-1S. Oh Yamato, way to milk us.
-
I dvr'd it last night, I will try to watch it in the next day or too. Glad to hear they are finally killing people. I got so sick of seeing everyone eject in the old cartoons that I stopped watching them. Even as a kid, I kinda thought, man, how come no one dies in this cartoon???

Finally! Now I don't have to worry about finding someone to build my model kit of him. I never really watched the series, but loved the designs.

The computer and electronics super geek thread
Chowser replied to Dante74's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm always fixing friends/coworkers/family members computers as well. I need to start charging. First thing I ever do is: I install Avast antivirus, update it, run it. I install SuperAntiSpyware, update it, run it. I install Spybot Search and Destroy, update it, run it. After those three (all for free) are ran, I usually fix the problem. Sometimes, they have something really nasty that I have to do boot scans, which usually gets it. I usually do the boot scan with Avast and then with Spybot. This does take awhile, I just let it scan and go play games or something. If I'm getting problems with Windows not booting up, I'll try to use the recovery console to restore the system. Last time, I actually had to wipe my old computer and start over. Thankfully, I had my old Win XP Home upgrade disk. I had to argue with Microsoft about activating it because I have activated 4 times already in the past 5 years. All on the same computer, I had to argue with MS, hey, your crap keeps giving me the blue screen of death, and this is my only recourse. It's the same fricking computer. So now, the computer has WinXP on it again, but only with Service Pack 1. It will crash if I try to install SP2. Oh well, it's just for internet surfing now. -- I also turn off all the stupid start up programs everyone has running. I mean, how many instant messaging programs do you need to start up? -

No more WWII please. I mean, the last thing for them to do is make it so we play from the Nazi side, but they'll never do that. -

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3
Chowser replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
well, just got my Alto DX from HLJ ($153 US shipped to me). EMS took two days to ship from them to me (Ohio). Mail lady delivered it this morning at like 8am. Thankfully I was already awake, I had planned on sleeping in today. I guess HLJ is late on charging, it hasn't shown up on my debit card yet. For me, it's ok, I was debating getting the model and having someone build it for me (my skills suck), but overall I am happy with it. I'll probably never transform it. It's gonna sit next to my YF-19 Takatoys custom and YF-21 (both of which I have never transformed either). Now I just have to wait for my stand and super packs from Tokyo Hunter. Alto's color scheme is really the only one I wanted from Frontier, so I'll take a break until Yamato starts releasing the 1/60 VF-1 v.2 variants I want. -
Dang, I was going to hold off on my 1/60 V2 for abit, but I will have to jump on these.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3
Chowser replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
ah well, by the time I got around to trying to get it from Angolz, it was out of stock, so I ordered from HLJ with low stock, now it's discontinued and my order says Future Release. Guess I'll have Alto's super pack without Alto. Hopefully there will be a rerelease with some updates.
