yes, but if they made 10,000 for $100 bucks, I'd bet we'd all be buying it and cursing that they only made 10,000. wish i had the $$$ to spend like that, had a scare last night, wife called and left me a voice mail saying, hey, she won the lotto with her lottery pool at work, first thing i thought of was Macross goodies to buy. i was about ready to park the cruiser in the middle of the freeway, tell the people to do their own accident report and walk my a$$ home, but i called her to verify and they only won $150. don't ever do that to me again!!!!! (the lotto was up to $112million) argh!!!!
  2. are these the ones that can be had for $10+ ??? arii toys
  3. haha, not macross related, but funny, to me. make sure to read all the questions. ebay's stupid rules
  4. well, Wonderfest has started, hopefully, we'll see a new thread started soon. You would think Yamato would like letting us know and get worked up, granted, they are only allowed to cater to the japanese market, but they must know that we are their biggest fanbase and this is where the money is. most of us are probably in our 30s with decent jobs with a little disposable income. Look at Godzilla and Kensei, I mean, if I wasn't buying swords and guns, I'd be one of them with a fleet, one sword or gun with accessories is equivalent to 6 1/48s! I bought three swords and a gun last year, and my wife keeps telling me to stop buying weapons and start buying more toys, who needs more incentive than that? right now, I'm looking to get a new shotgun or the 1/48s M&M, Q-Raus and Monster. If I can get (not looking too good) the chief or prosecutor of my city to sign off on me owning a short-barreled shotgun in their city, then i'm getting it, else I'm spending the $$ on more Yamato stuff. Yamato, give me something good to buy! 1/48 GBP! YF19FP! VF0S! and of course, my post won't be complete unless I add, Yamato, give me a 1/48 Max VF-1A TV version! It's a repaint!!!!
  5. don't forget Metal Gear Acid for the PSP. also, Substance skateboarding game ??
  6. newest would probably be my AOTC Obi-Wan saber with Parks Saber EL blade. can't put this thing down. but other than that, it's my Yamato 1/48 VF-1S Max, was the 1/60 till I got the 1/48 done. Now, that is the main one I pose and play with. Got my 1/48 VF-1S squad (Roy, Hikaru, Max) now.
  7. Yes they are, took forever to get those hands on them. Finally took them off since everytime someone bumped the area, one or both would fall off.
  8. yes, everything in the pics i posted are transforming toys. none of my models are put together yet. a 1/48 should cost you between $100-$150 depending on which you want. I'd say it's worth it to avoid the hassle of having to paint and glue everything together to get something this big that is easily played with.
  9. don't forget, most kids these days don't like to read their movies (nor do some adults), I remember when we went to watch Hero at the theaters, they had signs posted everywhere before you bought your ticket that the movie was subtitled and that they will not issue refunds. I can't believe how many people decided to go to a different movie because they didn't want to be bothered with reading. Now, I understand a little catonese, but I still had to read the movie Kids these days don't like to read, I've dealt with 8 year olds who can't read, but the teachers keep passing them. Sheesh. My daughter is 2, she can sing the alphabet, recognize the letters in her name, and knows about half the alphabet, she can also make an S into a $ and knows what $$ is (it's used to buy her things, "Daddy, buy this for me with your money.") She likes to read books as well, so this helps when watching anime, she'll say that the words are going by too fast so thankfully for pause. I have all the Robotech DVDs (from the legacy box sets), but so far, we have not pulled them out to watch. We're gonna finish SDF Macross. The only thing my wife complains about is that it's sometimes a little too violent for her (I'm not allowed to play MGS3 or Halo 2 around her, but my wife can play RPGs where she's attacking monsters, just not people). Right now, I'm working with her on how to transform a 1/55. She can get the legs right, that's about it. Now as long as she doesn't do what my brother did when we were younger, we'll be ok. (back in the late 80s, he decided that my MINTY MINT jetfire and Robotech Alphas were real planes and tossed them to see if they could fly!!!!! )
  10. here's a quick copy of the dimensions from the Macross Compendium you can do the conversions for scale. DIMENSIONS, EXTERNAL: Fighter mode: Wing span: fully extended 20° 14.78 m VT-1C (estimated), fully extended 14.78 m swept backward 42° 12.12 m overswept backward 72° 8.25 m [8.75 m] in stowage position at 122° 4.70 m Length overall: 14.23 m VT-1C (estimated) 13.88 m with FAST Pack system 14.0 m with atmospheric-escape booster system 18.9 m Height overall: 3.84 m [2.85 m] with FAST Pack system 5.5 m GERWALK mode: Wing span: fully extended 20° 14.78 m swept backward 42° 12.12 m overswept backward 72° 8.25 m [8.75 m] in stowage position at 122° 4.70 m Length overall: 11.3 m Height overall: 8.7 m Battroid mode: Height overall: 12.68 m with GBP-1S system 14.1 m Width overall: 7.3 m Wing span: fully extended 20° 14.78 m Width overall: with GBP-1S system 9.8 m Length overall: 4 m with GBP-1S system 4.8 m
  11. now here is a 1/48 next to a 1/60 in fighter mode. the 1/72 is just a little smaller than the 1/60.
  12. jetfire was 1/55 like the bandai reissues. so the 1/48 will be bigger than your jetfire. i don't have any 1/72 VF-1s (well, I've got a hasegawa model i haven't put together yet), but here's a 1/48, 1/60, and 1/55 in battroid mode next to each other. sorry, i'm too lazy to do a chart, i think there's one somewhere already, you just hafta search for it.
  13. I'm doing subs right now. My daughter is only 2, but she seems to like spending time with daddy watching Macross. Basically, anything with a skull and crossbones, she calls Macross. She also knows, little Macross (1/60), big Macross (1/48), chunky Macross (1/55) and baby Macross (SDs). My wife doesn't mind, she says she would like her to hear different languages while she's young. Now, my son is 13, he's not really into subbed stuff, the only subbed stuff he'll watch is Macross 7, everything else, it's gotta be dubbed. I bought him a Super 1/55 Bandai reissue when they came out, he doesn't play with it too much, he does at least transform it a few times a week and poses them.

    What scale Destroids?

here's the heights of my matchbox destroids: approx. phalanx - 18.5 cm (to top of searchlight) tomahawk - 17.8cm (to top of missile rack) defender - 18cm (top of antenna) so it's real close to 1/60.
  15. heh, we actually had an 8 hour class on this, no matter how fast any of us were, from 21 feet, if your gun was holstered, you could not get your gun out in time before the guy with the knife closed with ya, the only time we could get the gun out was if we started moving backwards, but even though we got shots off, the guy still ran into us. now, if we knew the guy had a knife, of course, we'd all have our guns out and everyone would be hitting the 3-day lotto. but surprise attacks, yuck, most of the time, we got cut/stabbed/etc. of course, when we started kicking chairs in the instructor's way, he got a little mad, but we told him, hey, gotta use your environment. also, we shocked him him a few times and ran at him, took a few cuts to the arm, but we still shot him good. most of us wear level II vests with some stab/slice protection nowadays. our swat guys wear their II vests and their IIIA or III vests as well. I'm normally wearing the level II/spike level I vest, but I've got my spare (old) level II vest in my tactical carrier. don't know if it'll even slow down a rifle round, but with my luck, i'll get hit not on the vest anyways. recently, I've been shooting up alot of our old vests, the older ones (all kevlar) stop rounds much better than the newer stuff. I was shooting some "AP" handgun ammo and they were penetrating all the newer mixed vests, but not the older all kevlar ones. they wouldn't penetrate 1" bulletresistent glass panels that banks use, but it pretty much started shattering it, a full mag will probably break it up. the 9mms were doing better than the 40 (faster velocity, I guess). wonder what would happen if i yanked the bullet out from the 9 and reloaded it into a .357 case... Course, the M16 went through all the vests. ummm, lost my train of thought, oh well, my cpl. was at the shot show and asked FN how would he purchase the AP ammo for the FiveseveN and P90, and he was told it would have to be ordered through the dept. and shipped to the dept. with of course the required letterheads, etc.

    What scale Destroids?

here's a pic of two of the matchbox destroids next to some 1/60s. sorry for the fuzzy pic, kinda hard trying to stand on crutches and take a picture. also, that darvocet they gave me is making it hard to stand/sit/whatever but, I gotta have my MacrossWorld fix...
  17. finally found them, here's one Mr. March would appreciate. dual SMGs from Halo 2.

    What scale Destroids?

1'd say 1/60 myself, there's more variety of valks in 1/60, the Q-Raus are in 1/60, so make my destroids in 1/60. besides, i've got no room for a fleet of 1/48s.
  19. clueless buyers? these are on sale for $8 at my local walmart.
  20. all i can say so far from watching the hk boots with engrish subs is, wtf???? is going on. got a copy of 1-5 with decent english subs, i will probably get to that tomorrow on my last sick day from work next to impossible trying to install a furnace and two water tanks when one is on crutches. took forever. had to call for help... I'll say this, I like the mech designs. story-wise...
  21. RE: SDF-1 auction his reply I can take paypal payments. I do not like to because of the fees they charge. If you request paypal i will email you with the info. I do not want to go through another person.
  22. man, wish I lived in Texas... caught a guy coming out of my kitchen window (back of the house) two years ago with my wife's purse in his hand, and i was trying to call my pregnant wife all the way home, and first thing i wanted to do was shoot the guy dead, but after i started screaming at him, i saw my wife come to the second floor window and could see that she was ok, so the ass beating began. he was in no condition to do anything when the local city pd finally showed up (over 2 hours later). damn punk. turns out he was a friend of the teenager next door. now my one neighbor wont talk to me cuz i hurt one of their kid's friends. whatever...neighbors come, neighbors go, but i don't have anymore neighbor problems now. especially in the spring/summer time when i'm out back doing tameshigiri...
  23. oh yes, the sound of a shotgun racking is a beautiful sound. I kinda miss it since we switched to semi-autos, now, all we hear is chik-chik. back when we had pumps, we were chasing some car thieves, and one actually climbed a tree and refused to come down and told us to come and get him. I racked the shotgun and said, "alright, it's duck hunting season, what, aw, c'mon sarge, how 'bout just a few warning shots, or can i just wing'im?" needless to say, he got down with a quickness. most states are probably the same as in, you have a duty to retreat if you can do it safely, you can't use deadly force to defend property, you can only use deadly force to defend your life or the life of another that you believe is in imminent danger of serious physical harm or death. best thing is, when the boys in blue show up, say, officer, i was in fear for my life (or life of family member, pets don't count and are actually considered property). i thought that mofo was going to kill me. he said he was gonna cut me up and kill/rape/maim my family. (dead guys can't contradict you, but it's easier to tell the truth, this way, you won't have to remember what you lied about at a later date). yada, yada, yada. and no, you can't shoot'em on your porch, drag'em in and put a kitchen knife in their hand. been done, we saw right through it, etc. etc.
  24. I think it was called Thexder by Sierra, I used to play it.
