ok, it looks like he removed this screw here with an allen wrench and pulled the entire blade out. after that, i don't know what he did. hope that helps. custom saber shop is offering conversions and parts for the do it yourself. i'm debating doing my vader myself or sending my other anakin in for a red blade. i like the feel of the anakin better for sword play. also, the anakins can be used with my cell phone clips to hold onto my belt for dual saber play. now, Mace's would be the best FX to convert since it's clean with no protrusions, but I prefer Obi-Wan ep.1 / ep.2. I can whack someone upside the head with the bottom of that saber.

ok, my son's old 2 megapixel camera is here in his room, here's some quick shots. i just used an allen wrench to remove the screw holding the blade in and it comes out, it's the original MR blade, just empty now, so it's a bit hilt heavy, but i guess that's how a real saber would feel anyways. imo, it doesn't look as bright as the MR. it's still nice to have no blade to wear, now i just have to find a convertec belt clip to use. i'm sure this conversion can be done cheaper as it looks like all he did was take out the led assembly, and rewire the luxeon led in, but since i don't know how to do that, i'm happy with it. customsabershop says they are doing this conversion now for only $100. yeah, just picked it up today from the post office, inept mailman didn't leave me a notice saturday, and saw me come out to get the mail, guess he was too lazy to come back even though he PARKED in front of my house. i had till wait till today to go pick it up. waiting for my son to bring my digicam back home from school, so far, it looks the same, i see where he added something to hold the blade in, now i have to find an allen wrench to remove it i guess, i think he was supposed to leave me a little blue screwdriver thing, but i didn't see it. i sent him an email. the blade is brighter at the bottom, and the top, i'll have to get my spare Anakin out and take side by side pics with new batteries in each just to be fair. i'll get pics up later today. just gotta figure out how to do shots without the flash since MR blades always show up white when I use flash.

I have two of the blue one, one still in package, one I wear all the time, battery is still good from whenever I bought it years ago. I have two of the black ones too, let me find it. i didn't buy any of the plastic/nylon banded ones, just the metal banded ones.

they've been averaging $150+ on ebay for some reason, i've seen some go as high as $180. someone told me borders had a 20% off coupon recently. i'll have to check next time i'm at borders, i think it was only 10% off toys/videos/electronic stuff though.

alot of borders bookstores still have the ROTJ Luke in stock for $129. I don't know if you can mail order it, but i wouldn't shell out, I had bought two when they came out and my son didn't want his, I sold it for what I paid for it + shipping to someone in Canada (no borders in Canada). it was like $147 or something total.. I can check Border's around me again next time I go to see if they have any.

I should probably have my converted saber soon, I just got email shipment notification from USPS, but it hasn't made it to them yet, he got my saber on the 8th, so i expect him to probably send it back this weekend. once i get it, i'll post pics and i'll try to do an mpeg movie on my camera, but someone will have to host it or point me to a free host site for movies. i just bought a new flashlight for work, it's a 3watt Luxeon LED with rechargeable (i think lithium, 123 sized) battery and man, is this Luxeon bright! (got it off ebay from some company in hong kong) It's just as bright as my Streamlight M3 light. one of the guys i work with has the Pelican M6 LED version, and the $40 (it was very expensive shipping, i guess to cover the ebay fees, i think it was $9.99 US for the light and $29.99 shipping). the light I bought is much brighter than his $70 light, and my battery is rechargeable. i wish i can get my M3 with a luxeon led. i was looking at the surefire x200 for my HK, wonder how bright that is. oh, it does say on the box (from my flashlight) not to look directly into the luxeon led.

i'm trying to figure out how to mount it to the wall directly. for now, i'm just going to use an acrylic stand. or maybe i'll see if it fits the Yamato launch arm.

also, the 3 battery versions are closer to 1:1 size. I remember the first one ever, the Anakin AOTC FX saber, that thing was huge! I like the newer Vader and Anakin ones, it's still a little larger than 1:1 size (well, I won't really know until I get my Anakin ROTS Limited Edition, then I can compare). I'm still waiting for my Obi-Wan TPM Elite Edition to come in, they said shipping starting Oct/Nov, but with MR, as with Yamato, delays, delays. If you can pick up a Larbel Obi-Wan EL blade, they are sweet! No sound, though. I picked mine up for $349 with the EL, I've seen the same thing going on ebay lately for $450+.

I think with the Luxeon LEDs, when you turn it on, it just turns on the whole thing at once, like the old EL style blades. i think with the MR FXs, the blades have LEDs along the entire length of the blade and are set to turn on and off in sequence. I sent my anakin one off, the one that uses 3 batteries. figured it was worth a shot, I'll post pics side by side with a regular Anakin when I get it. my son and I were dueling with the Anakin and Vader sabers last week at a party, and they held up pretty good, we weren't doing any HARD contact, but for the light contact we did, no scratches or dings on the blade. I did get a crack on my Anakin blade when some 4 year old took it and whacked it against the tree, that's the one I sent to get converted. Teaches me to go get a drink and leave a lightsaber sitting out on the porch.... I mean, you could buy all the parts yourself for hellacheap and do it yourself, but i don't have the time, skills or patience to sit down and learn. afaik, you have to send either the Vader or Anakin ones that uses the 3 batteries. I agree about the Mace hilt, I just wish they would make the Obi-Wan TPM/AOTC saber, it is by far, in my opinion, the best saber hilt designed for sword fighting, it's practically clean. I use my Larbel Obi-Wan with EL blade for most things since it is the easiest one to use. After looking at the current list of launch games, my son and I went to Gamestop and canceled our preorders. $700 (i was getting the $399 version, he was getting the $299 version) in one day is a bit much for no games that we'd want to play. more than likely, we'll wait till next summer if/when Halo 3 comes out. The only game we play on Xbox now is Halo 2. I pop in MechAssault or DOA2 every now and then, but I prefer Mechwarrior on my PC and DOA2 on my PS2. Right now, I'm playing RE4 on PS2 and my son is on punishment for getting a bad grade in Algebra, so no one is touching the Xboxes. I'll get a PS3 and buy three on launch day just because I stood in line for the other playstations. Have to keep to tradition now...

I'll miss the power up and power down lighting effect, but if I can go all out and duel with it, then it'd be worth it. figured I'd at least have something to wear on my belt that isn't a $300+ MR Limited Edition. edit- the newest MR FX Sabers. Vader, Anakin, Luke ROTJ reissue with LED blade. bought a second Anakin FX that I am sending off to get converted to just see what it's like.

I'm not quite sure how ghoomer being FUBAR(or attempting to activate a non-existant exploit) is MS writing buggy software. 341038[/snapback] not saying ghoomer is related to MS, since i've deleted everything in there, i get alot of nonexistent processes trying to run. i still get lots of popups, now i get them in firefox too. windows is windows. just saying MS writes buggy software, always making it harder to do stuff. i really miss the old DCL days....ahhh..vax/vms..... also, after the reinstall of XP, it didn't recognize any of my USB stuff, until after I upgraded to SP2. i couldn't use my mouse or keyboard, i had to go dig through the basement to find a PS2 keyboard and mouse since i don't have any adapters. then I had to d/l drivers for the motherboard, soundcard, video card on my notebook and burn a disk so i could install those things. man....it's 2:30a, I have to be up at 6a. might as well go to bed now as soon as my dvd with data files finish burning. MS was giving me a hard time with reactivation (this is the 4th time I've reactivated it. First PC motherboard blew up, so I put a new board in. that was reinstall #2, then the m/b blew again, build new PC, install #3, now I just did install #4. seems Office XP is working so I don't have to reinstall that). i finally have everything back up and running (VX2.Look2me is still running) and I will just have to live with the dang VX2 until someone can tell me how to remove it without doing a format. then again, maybe it's time to build another computer and use that stupid Windows XP x64 I have sitting around. ok, message is jumping all over the place, time for bed. at least when my kid gets up in a few hours, he can print stuff for school. guess i should really put the printer onto a wireless server or something so the notebook can print, or he could just hook up the cable to the notebook....or i can buy him a printer...nah..

tried ewido, it found lots more things, but it still can't remove VX2.Look2Me. did find Ghooomer and erased the directory, but i even deleted my windows directory, then reinstalled windows and it's still there. guess i will just do a format and complete reinstall over again. microsoft is going to be questioning me on how many times i've reactivated this version of windows, but hey, if they didn't write buggy software, i wouldn't have to do this.

i just rehooked my buddy up, he had Adelphia Cable Broadband service, I set him up with a DLink DI624, no problems. he didn't pay his cable bill and got it cut off, I just rehooked him up yesterday with SBC DSL service and the DLink is still working fine. basic settings. i just enabled secure wireless for his girlfriend, but the xbox is still hooked up via ethernet.

C++ my bad, I've been taking a visual basic class for using Access and it's been taking up too much space in my brain. checked my computer for the ghooomer directory and for the file, even went to the command prompt to try and search for it. can't seem to figure it out. gotta stop letting my kid use the computer... dont know what he did, but i ended up with alot of adware and spyware and some viruses, but after cleaning everything out that i could find, i'm just getting this now, and only when I come to this website.

that's what i was afraid of. i'm trying to figure out how to delete all my visual basic runtime libraries and reinstall all of them. firewall doesn't show any problems, router not showing any problems. there is NO TRAFFIC at all, I can go to any other website and do everything, and it only shows up when I come here, and only after I purge all my temp files and cookies. if i didn't clean out the cookies/temp files, and come back here, it doesn't pop up. i'll see if there's a firefox update or something. using i.e. now and it sucks.

only seems to happen with Firefox. IE is fine. but when I use my notebook to access the site, everything is fine. it's just the desktop doing that. notebook is also running Win XP Home SP2 with firefox as well.

Ok, I'm not too computer literate, so here's my question: Everytime I come to visit MW's Forum site, I get the following Visual Basic Error Window: I've searched my computer, that directory and file does not exist. I'm all patched up with latest security fixes, etc. running Win XP Home SP2. no viruses found, spysweeper, adaware, spybot, xoftspy, microsoft antispy, yahoo antispy, cwsshredder, all report clean. How do I update my Visual Basic Runtime Library? thanks. sorry if wrong forum, figured it was only happening on MW, so I'll ask here.
