not done with it yet, i'm in the 1st third still, it's more like Halo 2.5 to me, so I'm playing more Oblivion than I am Halo 3. Any reason why they made the Needler non-dual-wielding this time? And why can't the Arbiter cloak? I'm playing with a co-worker online and I go to cloak and I just turn on my flashlight. Didn't know the Arbiter gave up his cloak for a flashlight.

certain games will split screen and if you both have Gold Live accounts, you both use your own headsets. I've played four player on one xbox before way back when.

just got home with the legendary edition. i'll open it tomorrow, time for bed. you'd think that i'd open it and look at it after spending $110 on it. but nope, I'm here surfing before I go to bed. my cat better run, she's going to get a helmet stuck on her head in the morning!

Finally talked with my son, total time the 360 was running before it RRODed was 18+ hours. I wrapped it in a towel and stuck it in the freezer for 5 minutes. Let it thaw out and it seems to be working now. This one is still quieter than my Halo edition 360. Today, I stopped in to see if a just stolen 360 was brought it to be pawned off (which it wasn't) and checked to see if my H3 Legendary was paid off and got a nice surprise. The district manager was in and knocked off 15%, so they took the excess and threw it on my Ace Combat preorder after knocking that down some too. I get the employee discount now! Woot!!!! 15% off everything! And if I buy a used game, I can just use the Edge card and it's 25% off. Guess I'll be doing most of my shopping there now instead of trying to price shop! It was a nice thank you for me and one other guy since we've gotten so many people to come in and buy stuff.

I believe it was new, it looked new. Unless they were relabeling refurbs with a new manufacture date or sticking them in new cases. I will check it to see what team built it when my son gets back home with the unit. That might make it more clear when it was built. It was made 08/15/07. My Halo edition was made 08/06/07. That scares me now. But after speaking with my son this morning (the unit still will not power up), I am wondering if it was heat related as usual. He says he and his ex-step-father were playing for over 6 hours and the room was hot (dummies didn't turn on the a/c because it was 70 degrees outside) when the system RRODed. He immediately turned it off and it was hot to the touch. I'll look at it some more when he gets it home.

My GS Manager just got back from a Microsoft conference, there are no Falcon boards out yet. Oh, DH, good thing we didn't do the trade. My son just called me and said the replacement 360 RROD.

haha, i said i was done doing that also, but I get off work at 10:30 on Monday, I'll head over to GS after work and pick up my copy. I've already traded in enough to pay off the Legendary Edition. I was going to pick up another copy for my son, but my brother just bought a new TV and got a free 360 Premium and free Halo 3, so he's giving us his copy of Halo 3 since he doesn't play Halo.

I saw the XSATA at GS, I didn't like the fact that it has to be hooked up and near the PC. They make something called the XPORT also, you just take your HD and plug it into the port thing. Only thing with the XSATA and XPORT is the interface. I will have to figure out what each save file is since it's all numbers/letters instead of file names. I might just stick with the memory unit. I'll have to see how big the files I want to move are, I just want to move my Elder Scroll saves since I'm still playing that while waiting for Halo 3, the other saves, meh, I might have to move Dead Rising and Gears also. I'll have to see if GS will let me buy a memory card and return it the next day.

Ok, my wife got tired of my son playing guitar hero in the living room because it was waking up the little ones and I didn't know she got a raise and bonus last month, so she went out and bought me a 360 Halo edition, so I guess I won't buy the Elite. Crap. My question is, is there any way for me to copy some of my saves off the first 360 without having to go out and spend $30 for a 64mb memory unit? I know I can d/l all the content I have already paid for already, and recover Gamertags, but I really want to be able to move some saves. I guess I can get the 512mb memory unit off ebay out of hong kong for less than $30... Does the 360 Elite transfer kit copy the HD from one to the other without deleting data off the original? --- ug, can't spell today...

It was shown on SCI/FI channel last night. I still have it on DVR, haven't gotten around to deleting it, if you want, I'll burn it to a DVD (commercials and all). You could probably d/l it faster than i can burn it.

wait, he does all that just to have a kid? geez, I DVR'd it last night, guess I won't even bother watching it, I was channel surfing and i saw the part well, guess it's a spoiler, so i won't post it. but that part i saw, i was just apalled. it sucked. i stopped watching and dvr'd the next showing. guess, i'll just delete the whole thing.

I just saw one, it's even uglier in person. I'm still debating the Elite. My son is wavering thanks to you guys School, scmool, Halo 3 is coming out! He just found out you can do 4-player co-op.

I've had nothing but problems with mine, wasted $60. I went back to the wired headset. Once less thing for me to charge.

The wireless is separate I believe. They already have the Halo 3 Wireless Headsets and controllers out for sale. Oh, they have a Halo 3 faceplate and SKIN stickers out as well.

No HDMI port on the new one, I was just debating if it was worth it, the only reason was for the bigger HD, HDMI, and Falcon motherboard, but I've had the new one two weeks and it's quiet and never gets hot. I'll have to try Dead Rising again and see if it does anything. I still have 9 GBs free on the Premium HD and so far component is alright, my TV only goes up to 1080i, and I don't plan on watching HDDVD, so I don't know if I really need HDMI, I'm pretty happy with 720p. (My tv is only a 32" LCD)

Yes, Halo 2 did look better when playing on the 360 in 720p. --- Dilemma: Should I sell my 360 premium unit when I get the Elite? Could I even get $300 for it since it's only been used a month? Or should I not even bother getting the Elite since my Premium is quiet and has the upgraded heat sink and quieter drive? The whole reason we were getting a second unit was so my son and I could play Gears, Halo 3, and Ace Combat with our own televisions instead of doing split screen, but he is not renewing his Live account at the end of the month and is going to concentrate on school.

2 rings (usually on the left side) means overheating. 3 rings is general hardware failure. i think if you get an error 71, it's the hard drive. i've only seen the two rings and three rings.

Has anyone tried buying on of those USB powered fans? I might pick on up and hook it to the back of the 360. I would just use it to push air around the outside of the 360. I wouldn't have it blow air into it, just have it going to keep the hot air moving away.

My original (bought Feb. 06) has sat horizontal till it got replaced in Aug. 07, the replacement is also horizontal. If I get the Elite, I'll move the premium to the basement and stand it vertical and see if it makes any difference.

I actually have UPSs hooked up to my TV, 360, PS2, Computer and monitor. Gives me about 10-15 minutes to save in case of power outages. I found about a dozen APC BACK-UPS ES 8 Outlet in a dumpster and they all work, just packaging was torn. Yes, I dumpster dive when I'm on night shift. No shame in it. I've built two computers from dumpster diving... ---- I actually called MS on August 9th, got my box on Monday the 13th, and shipped it same day with their prepaid return label. Shipping is 3-day UPS. Both ways. So I was without the 360 for about 15 days. My son is now playing Guitar Hero which he got for his birthday on the 14th, so he had to wait two weeks before he could play it. haha, too bad for him, I'm taking the 360 with me next week for another week long school. I don't know if I'll be online since the academy's internet NAT is so strict, I get knocked offline alot. And they only have a 13" TV in the room. Wonder if I can pick up a cheap 27" LCD and bring it with me. I couldn't play Dead Rising at all on the 13", couldn't read a thing. Anyone get an HDMI equipped premium yet? I'm wondering if I should hook the 360 Elite up by HDMI when I get it or just leave it as component and save the HDMI for the PS3 again.
