ok, got one of the Gundam Action Bases to try out.

Ok, how easy is it to upgrade the hard drive? Is there software involved that copies over what's on it already? Basically, this is my dilemma: Ok, I have a PS1 (modded), PS2 (original and slim), that we are going to keep, so I don't really need backwards compatibility. I don't need all the memory card slots. I am getting a $200 Dell gift card (bought a new notebook around Xmas), I can get the PS3 40gb version and only spend about $220. I want to remove the 40gb and replace it with my old notebook hard drive (7200rpm, IDE, 100gb). How would I need to format the 100gb hard drive? (I gave my old notebook to my mom with a 60gb spare HD) I was going to wait for the Dual Shock 3 to come out, as I don't plan on using the PS3 until MGS4 and FF13 come out.

man, MS just keeps doing it. I'm done, I already have a Pro and a Halo edition. I'm about to pick up a PS3 once I get my Dell Gift Card. On Mass Effect, is it my system? During conversations, the shadows on the faces suck.

it's just stylistic differences using the earlier picture, alot of people like the look of the TV 1A head because it's what we're used to seeing. Toynami's version is pretty close if you remove the outer ring. I'll probably only get a VF-1S in 1/60 when it comes out myself. Just to fill out my 1/60 line. Now, if they make the TV Max and Kazikaki with the correct head, then I'll have to get them and a VF-1J Hikaru. Else, it's just the Focker. I'm running out of display space and I'm starting a more expensive hobby --oops, wrong pic---fixing

I hope they do, I had to get a Hikaru pilot and Super packs from a 1J just to do mine. The only thing I didn't do was paint the arrows on the head black, I'm not that good of a painter. I will probably do the same with the 1/60s when they get released.

like J said, if it's too far away, or your house is too nice, get the wireless adapter. you might be able to get it used at GS for around $80. I have an old house and I just drilled some holes in the floor, my basement is not finished so I don't mind all the cables going everywhere. My friend has his router directly underneath his 360, but his basement is finished and he doesn't trust me drilling into walls, so he bought the adapter.

Any guesses on the order of the line-up? I'm assuming Roy's 1S is going to be first. Guess I'll be getting rid of my 1/48 Roy/Max/Hikaru VF-1S trio.

The DVR stuff with the Elite has to be done through Microsoft's service. I think. I can't remember since I wasn't really looking into it, but MS was supposed to be parterning up with some cable companies or something. -- I have the regular premium (non-Falcon) edition (mfg.081307-with a quiet drive) that my son uses, and I have a Halo (non-Falcon) edition (mfg.080607-with a noisy drive) that I use. You could always buy whichever one and get a faceplate that suits you. My Halo one is puke green, but it sits pretty much by itself in the dark that it doesn't really clash with everything else I have, which is black or silver. If you can find a 20gb 360 hard drive cheap, you can always get the arcade edition. I know I was seeing some 20gb HDs going for $55 during the holiday and arcade editions for cheap. But it's going to get close to the premium price anyways, might as well just get that. A co-worker just bought the Halo (Falcon-w/noisy drive) edition over the Elite edition (the Gamestop we were at were all out of arcade/premiums, just had Halos and Elites in stock). He likes it and it doesn't clash with his decor. I'm sure someone will sell you their black faceplate if they're not using it. I've got a regular white, a Halo, Halo 3, and Ace Combat faceplates collecting dust in the closet, no black ones though. My son is using a Gears of War faceplate and I have the stock Halo puke green.

The Elite has the 120 gb Hard drive and is black. The Elite, Halo Edition, and Premium all have HDMI. If you must have black and plan on doing the DVR stuff, get the Elite. I didn't bother, 20 gb is more than enough for me right now. I have Tivo for my DVR. Good luck finding a quiet drive one.

yeah, i'd probably sell three of my 1/48s just to get one of the new 1/60s, just so my scales would be the same. Right now, I have a 1/60 VF-1J as the scale one in my 1/60 lineup. The only 1/48 I'd keep would be the Stealth.

Are they going to prorate my Live subscription? Add a free day? j/k I know I had no problems this morning, I just got back, I guess I won't even bother trying to go online now.

thanks, I'll check it out. Crysis is the exact reason I am looking to upgrade my desktop graphics card. Currently using a 256MB Geforce 7900GS and I can set it at medium settings. It looks great at medium settings, but I really want to see what High settings look like. It runs fine on my desktop right now. I don't exactly plan on trying to run Crysis on a notebook. As long as I can do simple stuff like Oblivion, WoW (If I ever decide to start WoW), and maybe Gears of War for PC, I'll be happy with the 8600M GT. The main selling point for the notebook was for it to be able to do simple CAD drawings for crash scenes/crime scenes. It just doubles as a simple gaming PC. I know the 8800 series is coming out for notebooks, but since my job is getting the notebooks for three of us, I can't really complain. The 1720 with the 8600GM is the only one of the three we're allowed to get that doesn't have integrated graphics (X3100).

Where can I check graphic card capabilities on notebooks? I'm about to get a Dell Inspiron 1720. It has the Geforce 8600M GT 256MB video card with it. I know it's going to be able to do the CAD stuff I need for work (it's a Core2Duo 2.0GHZ, 2GB RAM). I just want to make sure the 8600M can play some decent games. I was looking at a Sager notebook with the 8600M GT 512MB card, but I can't pass on the Dell for $475.

People are reporting that the fans that plug into the 360 are messing it up. The one that uses the 360s power supply are not making full contact and causing the plastic to melt. And the other ones mess up the fan speeds/air circulation or something. What I do sometimes is I have a plug in fan that I just plug in and have it move the air away from the exhaust of the 360 so that it pushes the hot air away. For now, I just keep at least 6 inches open on all sides (except for the bottom)

sorry Apollo, kids got sick and I got sick with them. yuck. For those wondering, if you d/l the new map pack, it is gamertag specific. I moved my GT over to my son's 360 and d/l the maps again (for free) and I can play them on there as long as my account is present. Once I moved my account back to my 360, he can see the maps on his hard drive, but he can't access them. bummer. I'll try again to get back on some nights, I start vacation on Monday and I'm off the rest of the year except for Christmas afternoon. My son's been playing on my account to try the new maps if you see me on and I don't respond, that's my son.

There should be some type of seal with a logo. I was at Gamestop once and we opened up a Legendary Edition Halo just to see what the helmet looked like. It was sealed with round stickers. After looking at the helmet, they just resealed it and put a new round sticker over the old one, so at first look, it doesn't look like it was opened. They also have a shrink wrapper in back. I bought my wife a DVD for xmas, but wanted to watch it during a break, so I watched it, then went over to GS and had them shrink wrap it for me. yeah, i'm stupid, i know.
