That's a bummer but not entirely unexpected. Hopefully the extra time will mean better QC.
-
That's sharp. Only $750?

I think the DX and 1/60 nosecones both look good in battroid. The neck area is the significant visual improvement on the DX. The DX cockpit/nose area looks a bit stumpy to me in fighter mode, to be honest. I think it's somewhat of an illusion because of the huge Macross kite that's back a little ways, as well as the longer horizontal surface that protrudes forward above the intakes. The nose of the 1/48 Yamato is very long and looks great. The 1/60 isnt as long but looks great too. I still prefer these over the DX in fighter mode due to their proportions. The DX has better tampo obviously.

Hopefully they fix the awful neck on the VF-1A brownie before it releases

That would be a very nice upgrade. Where is that picture from?

Nevermind, moved to KC thread. My 1S head lasers are a little gappy too

I am excited to see how Bandai handles the DX GBP. Also, looks like NY finally shipped my VF-1S. Gives me a little more faith in the multiple Super/Strike parts I ordered with them.
-
Thats the same situation my order is in. Just hanging in preparation since Friday. Keep hoping for the shipping notice this week.
-
There's my NY preparation email. Looks like they are making their way through orders
-
It is amusing, or I guess disappointing, that with all the tampo Bandai spams these VF-1s with somehow it is both inaccurate and incomplete
-
If NY will definitely fulfill my order in time, maybe I will just wait it out. I have Strike Packs pre-ordered with them too and don't want NY to cancel them too or ban me. Here is my VF-1S among friends. Haven't transformed it to battroid yet. Once I do, it will likely permanently stay that way as I think battroid (and Gerwalk) are where the DX really shines. 1/48 Valkyries fill up display room rather quickly!

That sounds painless. I am wondering if this is worth a shot or if multiple requests by people will upset them.
-
I got brave and applied some careful force and it popped right in there. Yay!

I still haven't heard a peep from NY. The one I bought from Loopaza showed up today though. Has a little bit of smeared tampo paint and some scuffs. More frustrating is the arm shoulder slider isnt assembled right. I couldn't figure out why the leg wouldn't seat properly in fighter mode. The L part of the slider tab is above the groove instead of below. Looks like I will have to attempt a little disassembly. I couldn't pop it into the groove and don't want to break anything. Small issues aside and the silly 001/100 error, this is a nice looking figure.

I haven't got any notice from NY either. Mine was purchased from them at the first markup round they had. My multiples set of Strike Parts are on order from them too so that should be interesting. I will try to be patient another week before I get too anxious about it.
-
My sentiments exactly. This should absolutely be a proper white TV Version Roy VF-1S. Other than that - very cool Scout Regult.
-
LOL ugh that's accurate for both Bandai and moreso for Arcadia
-
Yeah don't I feel stupid paying 27000+ yen for mine. Wish I would have been patient. Maybe there's some hope for Bandai making the next figure more readily available though.

I finally tried installing the replacement VF-1 shoulder hinges I got from Shapeways earlier in the year. https://www.shapeways.com/product/DV3KRQCTN/kanzen-henkei-1-60-scale-fighter-variable-hinge?optionId=3675956 Unfortunately these things suck. Drilling out the holes so the pin could go in wasn't bad, but the hinges don't actually close all the way. Maybe I should have picked a different plastic type instead of the white versatile? They work fine for battroid or Gerwalk mode, but this VF-1 won't be able to fully transform into fighter mode. Has anyone had any better luck with these?

I really enjoy the Yamato 1/48 VF-1s. I have been debating selling my DYRL set, but not because I don't like them - it's for space purposes. Assuming Bandai does the whole lineup in 1/48 DX, I won't have room to display one of each . Even with that in mind it isn't an easy decision to let them go.

HLJ got back to me and confirmed replacement parts are coming in mid October with instructions on how to replace the foot.

Wow that's interesting. I haven't received an update from HLJ yet. If returning it for a refund is the only option, I can't confidently say I would buy another SV51.

I thoroughly enjoy the Kitzconcept figures and these non canon paint schemes. Looks like they rushed the box for the red version - only two sides of mine are labeled correctly. The figure is great though.

I will have an extra VF-1A Max that likely won't be needed due to space limitations. Couldn't snag one at less than NY prices but I'd be willing to work with a member here if somebody needs one

Curious to see what the next one is. Back to SDF, or another DYRL? Maybe something off the wall like a VF-1D? With Bandai you never know
