  1. I have the entire modeling lesson I believe. The one with the hand is the July '95 Newtype and the second part is in the September issue. I also have the August one and there's nothing related to this. Here's what the finished model looks like.
  2. Saw this animation cel on ebay and felt it was worth mentioning here. Kinda pricy but the composition is nice.
  3. Street Fighter 3 Marvel Super Heroes Strider 1 & 2 Mario Kart Macross VF X2 Metal Slug 3 KOF 2000 Aliens VS Predator 2 Age of Empires/Myth F Zero Pikmin Hanagumi Taisen Columns Ys Eternal I & II Metal Gear Solid 2 Sega Touring Car Championship Sega Rally 2 Virtua Fighter 4 Sengoku Blade
  4. The Gunbuster box set cover art is up and viewable here. It doesn't look familiar so I'm guessing it's new or unused art.
  5. I'm more concerned with how hot this thing gets. It doesn't look like there's much room for a cooling fan.
  6. Wow Amano never ceases to amaze me. Every brush stroke flows like it is blown by a gentle breeze. All of his paintings have a touch of mystic to them and every figure seems to beckon the viewer to listen to their story. I was beyond words when an author and artist I really like produced a few books. It's really sad that interest in art is seldom seen here
  7. I saw no mention of this elsewhere in the thread and if I'm reading this right it looks like Gunbuster will be seeing a DVD rerelease soon in Japan. I'm not sure if this is remastered in any way or a deluxe edition. The translation I read was somewhat garbled.
  8. I don't totally agree with that. The only episodes that are self contained are the first (if you only watch that one and no more), four, and the last one. Every other episode arcs with a later one at some point, excluding the last one. Without watching the first episode, the second won't make much sense, etc. I do wish more of the loose ends were tied up and the what if of the last 5 planned episodes. I still want to see You Know Who as a Knight Saber
  9. Ah, so that's what they look like Have you thought about my suggestion to use tinted glass or at the very least shine a colored light behind the etching to illuminate it? You guys should email Mikimoto and sent a picture of your wonderful fanart
  10. I will add a couple pieces of information about Maimu, although what you said already was about the extent of my knowledge Originally from 1989, there are a few character sketches and cell works in My Time. One monochromatic piece in Innocence from '97 and that's it. Only thing else I could say is girl on bike.
  11. I hope her hair is the right color when the figure is released.
  12. I was wrong I completely spaced the new suits they got in episode 8 I watched all of Bubblegum Crisis last night to make sure I don't remember if those were also the ones they used in Crash. As it was pointed out, Priss's suit in 2040 looks remarkabley similar to her Scoop Chase suit towards the end. The katakana title on the display cards is what bothered me, it's from the original series all right. Still, I wonder why they decided to make the hard suits that only show up in the OAV for 10-15 minutes? I would think the original hard suits used in the rest of the series are much more identifiable with the fans.
  13. I wish Yamato would make toys out of the original hard suits instead of the 2040 redesigns Still they look nice and the joints are well hidden.
  14. yeah, I was just looking at that. Sucks to see a nice set like that without the actual armor in it. How do you report fraudulent items like that? I don't think that's entirely warranted in this case. What the seller should have done is mention the red fast packs are not part of the original toy. I look at it as 'what you see is what you get'. Those fast packs are interesting and I do not believe they are bootlegs.
  15. This is by no means an official thread. If it was, Gunbuster 2's announcement should have been posted here. Same thing with Studio Half Eye's kit, the Noriko figure, and my original post about the making of DVD. Were any of these? No. Curious to hear about all the contents once it's released. I doubt I'll pick it up anytime soon.
  16. I posted about the Making of Gunbuster DVD/Book a month and 1/2 ago. Anybody care to search? Nooooooo And there is a link to a 20% off reservation. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=9339&hl=
  17. I think it's more fun to finish the Pheyos off with the armored VF-11. With a couple of nukes, grenades, a chain gun, and a mess of micro missles it's almost as if he's pissing into the solar wind
  18. Here's a question. Was Macross II ever considered part of the official storyline between the time is was released up until Macross Plus? I never read anything that specifically said Macross II was a side story. It wasn't until I saw a short chronology at the end of Macross Plus ep. 1 that listed Macross II as a parallel universe.
  19. Thanks for the link Only reason I asked is because I seriously doubt it'll be showing in the Springs. I remember the first GITS movie had a good run there so maybe this one will too. Give me a hollar when it opens, because that will be the last thing on my mind
  20. Was there any more information when it's coming out @ the Mayan? 9/17? Sooner or later than that? How long will it be showing, etc?
  21. Damn, wish I could help. FFS is the one I'm missing. I have FF3, Real Bout, RBS, and RB2. I know Tung was in the RB games, but I don't remember the music offhand.
  22. Here is a front view of the VF-1SOL-S. This is a promotional flyer for the SFC game.
  23. My best guess would be the DJ liked the VF-1S and thought it would look cool as a cover. Who knows if the DJ knows about Macross or not. If his mixes have any other references to Macross in the titles he probably does know something about it. One time my friend went to a rave and told me there was a giant Lagi (from Panzer Dragoon) hanging from the ceiling. He knew about the game but I doubt many of the ravers did. Again, it was probably just a prop put up because it looked cool.
  24. That is completely unnecessary. It can and does hover in destroid mode. It can also jump in battroid mode. The Monster only walks in battroid mode, in destroid mode it tilts, hovers and turns (at least in the game). This is not only possible, it's necessary to escape all of the missles those damn Zentraedi pods fire. It can only fire a 30mm cannon, normal missles, and micro missles in shuttle mode. I didn't include the little guns/lasers on the arms because those aren't selectable weapons in the game. The rail gun can only be fired in destroid mode. The grenade crusher can be fired from either destroid/battroid mode. In shuttle mode, the top half of the rail gun that is exposed in back act as thrusters. In the opening movie it takes about 5 seconds to go from shuttle to destroid mode. I think that's for a more dramatic effect, in game it takes about 1 second. Forgot to mention, the Monster is also seen launching from a transport ship (in space) in shuttle mode. It's still unclear if it floats out of the hanger in destroid mode and then transforms to shuttle mode
  25. My Lodoss novels arrived and I can safely say there are several illustrations not in Innocence, one of which I'm attaching below. There are several pencil drawings throughout each book which is nice That picture I attached in my other post is in one of the four novels. The novels take place after the tv and oav series. I don't know much beyond that. The only illustration I have yet to place is the first one in Innocence (big two page spread with Narse the black dragon). It was created over a year after the last novel was released. Perhaps that is one that will be used for the imminent 5th novel. I find it somewhat creepy the day I discovered the novels is two years to the day the last of the four was released. Two years prior to that is the date the Dreamcast ROLW game was released (with Mikimoto's cover art) Also if anyone follows Ecole du Ciel, the 4th volume is scheduled to be released on 7/26/04
