  1. You have a good point. The WWE may have known something. But I can't say that for sure, and those text messages alone don't lead me to the instant conclusion of "he murdered his family and killed himself". National media is full on WWE right now. There was an article on CBS Sportsline right now talking about how WWE is culpable in the murders in a circuitous fashion. Also, in defense of the wrestlers shown, I would conjecture that WWE did NOT release any information to them regarding the situation. At the time the show was probably taped (mid/late afternoon I would guess) there was no news coverage really whatsoever (first news I saw on a wrestling website was around 4 or so). All I know is that pretty much every person I've talked to on the subject, both in person and online, has mentioned that it looks really bad for WWE having a tribute show for him, especially the pictures of Benoit, his wife, and child. Hindsight is 20/20 though. We'll see how it materializes. And you're 100% right about taking others out with you. Weak.
  2. Actually, with the way the media has latched onto this, and the general feel for the fact that it was definitely in poor taste for them to have the tribute show, they need to say something. And it could be as simple as "Hey, we made a mistake. We rushed forward with a tribute show for a comrade who had passed before details were available. In hindsight, considering the details of the situation, it was a poor decision. Sadly, there are no guide books for dealing with tragic situations of this nature. We will place this in the book of 'lessons learned' that we hopefully will never actually have to employ." With the hatred that ESPN has for WWE and other news outlets too, they have to be careful how they deal with this.
  3. This is a substantially different situation from Eddies death... They've already removed all product and mentions of Benoit from their website and product descriptions. WMXX description is "HHH defends title against HBK"
  4. If these end up being the facts of the case, what a POS coward.
  5. I can't believe he killed his family. His son. Just insane.
  6. I think both are true. I'm think it's possible the Tumbler is in it and gets destroyed and he gets a new car after that. I agree it looks like an escape pod. I don't think it's a full time vehicle.
  7. Batcycle...
  8. Doom stealing the surfboard is straight out of the comics. I'm not saying that everything that plays well in the comics plays well on the big screen, but it's not some hare-brained idea the movie guys came up with. Incidentally, was there any explanation given for why the SS is, you know, SURFING?
  9. Batman didn't dress in all black until the last 20 years or so and even then in the comics, it's been only rarely. The only place he's been all black on a consistent basis has been the movies. For most of his career (~40 years) it's been gray/black or gray/blue. And he didn't even have the yellow oval until the 1964.
  10. I don't know for sure, but was that Punisher book written by Frank Miller? My joke about the color of the belt is based on a line from Batman: The Dark Knight Returns where he explains that the symbol is yellow so people shoot him in the chest where he wears a bullet proof vest instead of aiming for his head. Can't say which came first off the top of my head, but I'd guess it's DKR...
  11. He wants people to shoot him in the waist. He wears a lot of extra body armor down there.
  12. The cowl is a HUGE improvement over the previous suits.
  13. Thanks for the Omega Man trailer. I can't watch it at work (stupid content filter) but I am excited to check it out from home. Saw that movie at a 24 hr Sci-Fi marathon a couple years ago and LOVED it. Great stuff. Saw "I am Legend" (VP Version) on AMC about 6 months ago. Good stuff there too. I'm thinking this could be pretty good. I read a psychological paper recently that said that chaotic creatures like zombies and whatnot are always popular during chaotic times in society. Between this movie, Invasion, and a few others, it seems that this is holding true.
  14. Thanks for the scans. Interesting looking stuff.
  15. I like it when his dad gets into the action "Quit saying stupid sh**, Spike."
  16. I actually could go for a modern take on Buck Rogers.
  17. Are these out? Sorry, I think I missed something...
  18. "Heavy Metal Fight" is relatively new, methinks. And is awesome. Their ripping on Spike and Chip for not knowing anything about "Cybertronian Law" is awesome.
  19. I don't know about the toy aspect of it, but I know that it has personally made me wish I still had my old Marvel Comics TFormer comics. I may even buy some TPBs on ebay. And based on the Ebay prices for most Transformers stuff recently, it looks like there is a significant surge of interest.
  20. While I think this looks like fun, I'm a little bored with The Clone Wars as a time period. Why the heck can't we have a "Shadows of the Empire" animated series. Seriously. Luke was SO different in Jedi than he was in Empire, I'd love to see that story fleshed out in animated form. Even though I don't mind the prequels, I like the OT characters better probably because it's what I grew up with.
  21. Was there ever an announcement from Yamato about this or was it just an HLJ thing?
  22. I agree. A little OT, but I was reminded of this thread when I was flipping through channels tonight and stopped for a second on ID4 to hear Will Smith say "Just like the AMRAAM launch pad on a Stealth"... Ummm...correct me if I'm wrong, but neither the B2 nor the F/A-117 ever carried AMRAAM's... So easy to get right, as Graham says...it's like they don't even try.
  23. Son, I've lived that life for years and it's fun at first, but in the end it's empty and hollow.
  24. Jack was funny, but he wasn't scary, at all.
  25. JBO, I agree with you COMPLETELY about the ending to T3. It was EXCELLENT and made the movie for me.
