i called and verified that japanese ps1 games do play on a japanese ps2 because i had the same question.

is there an online store that anyone can recommend to buy a japanese ps2? are step down transformers available at most electronics stores? thanks for the help

i am having lots of trouble finding a way to mod my ps2. rather than accidentally destroying my ps2 so that i can play all of the import games i just received (Macross, VFX2, ACE 2) i was thinking about getting a japanese ps2. anyone know if it will work with a US tv and with US outlets? if not, can anyone recommend a mod chip installer or a place that sells reliable modded ps2's? Thanks!

i finally got my first valk..a 1/48 VF-1S hikaru courtesy of lost and found toys. i love it sooo much. i spent my entire evening transforming it to all of its various modes. i had a little scare when a tiny tab broke off of the piece that flips up to reveal the hook for the backpack on top. i have no idea how it popped off, but a little bit of superglue and a steady toothpick fixed it up proper. the hardest part was finding the minute piece in the carpet. i was really scared of it at first, but after watching the video and braving through the "i feel like this is going to break it" moments, i started to relax and enjoy myself. best toy i've ever owned hands down. i can't wait to get a 1/100 monster so it won't look so lonely on my shelf. a big thanks to all of you for the guidance and for creating such a wonderful community that i am really happy to be a part of. cheers! jake

yes, white backgrounds hurt my eyes. i wish the valk could have been lighter though. in order to do that i would have had to spend a lot more time on it in photoshop.

Is the Super Dimensional Fortress Macross import Japanese PS2 game the same thing as Macross Do You Remember Love PS2 game. I've found the 3 disc DYRL PS1 game on ebay, but no DYRL for PS2 that i've seen mentioned a few times. I'm very confused. Thanks! Follow up questions: Is DYRL for PS1 worth getting if I already have the SDF Macross PS2 game and RT Battlecry? Will import ps1 games play on a modded ps2? Thanks again!

i'm the same age as macross. woot woot. give or take a month. 2/9/82. i'm getting a 1/48 VF-1S for my birthday. it only took 15 years to get the robot i've wanted ever since seeing transformer's jetfire. i've been reading these forums and looking at pictures for a week straight. i can't believe i never knew about any of this stuff except from exo-squad/robotech toy boxes and a mech book i had way back in the day. i'm totally wrapped up in it. i wish i had a friend that was in to it too. i'm pretty sure my gf's getting tired of me talking about it. i just finished the second disc of the orignal series with english dubs. i'm going to pick up the english subbed version from robotech.com and try and find a copy of DYRL somewhere. i can already tell this is going to be an expensive habit. damm.
