  1. That was my initial impression, but I was hoping there was something that I missed.
  2. See Pan's Labyrinth before Hellboy. Hellboy's more comic bookish, good, but, it's just not near the unique and as well done fairy tale experience that Pan is. Plus you'll see why a couple of us think del Toro's better for the Hobbit director chair because of how he handled Pan.
  3. Spiderman 3 vs Pan's Labyrinth vs Children of Men? Is that the question? Sorry, that's just the way it comes to mind for me, and given that initial impulse, I'd have to go with del Toro.
  4. I'm wondering about the functionality with the tires being so large that'd really kill the manueverability, wouldn't it? Ok, there's a military mechanically inclined lot here at MW, so speculate. Why does it look the way it does?
  5. I was hoping Lemmiwinks would rerail the thread, but it looks like he gave the wrong answer to Cat-atta-fish's riddle. Gollum really creeped me out when I was a little kid. It's still a product of its time, but I like it, and yes, it's pretty much a musical. Out of all the 70's cartoon material to be made about the LOTR universe, this one's the best, imo.
  6. The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.... Carry on Lemmiwinks or you'll soon be dead!
  7. Hey, I deserved more of a barb than that! One of the movies I ordered is Frankenstein Conquers the World.
  8. Exactly what I was thinking. It's filmed dark, but not *that* dark. Blade Runner is one of those movies that, like a classic book assignment that I would put off as long as possible, that when I do immerse myself in it, I wonder why the hell I was so apprehensive. I guess it's some of that pretentiousness it posesses that does that to me. It knows it's "smart" at times, I can't deny that. I also can't deny that when I'm done, I've watched a good science fiction movie that's hit on multiple levels of the human condition and that I think we need more movies/stories done with this attitude in mind.
  9. As a science fiction movie nerd, this is what I should have bought myself for Christmas..... Instead, I just spent $70 on standard DVD Toho films..... Yes, I await the barbs. Eventually I'll get this.
  10. Did you say unreashed?
  11. I'm ecstatic about this news. The chances of the Hobbit having the same tone/look as the LOTR movies is much higher now. Leonard Nimoy's ecstatic about the news too! Just see
  12. It's been a long time since I saw Omega Man, but didn't it end with one of Chuck Heston's trademark death scenes?
  13. That's about the best we can hope for in a good movie in this mixed universe too.
  14. There's a bunch of xbox live gamer tags in the xbox thread, although I doubt most of them have this game. Mine is "Qaztab", but lately I've been mainly playing this offline to get all the various medals/achievements. As for when you should try online, try it anytime. People fly completely different from the ones in the game, which are easy to nail in comparison. Fighting online will make you a far better campaign player. Speaking of which, I'm going for the attacker medal and the flying fortress level is ridiculously easy with an A-10 armed with RCL's. Even on Ace difficulty, by the time the Strigons show up, I've taken out two of the smaller fortresses and am focusing on the third. By the time Strigon gets their wits about them that they should focus on me, I ally cover and sometimes ally assault them, and they never get anywhere near. Factor in the super machine gun and the superior yawing ability of the A-10, and it's even more-so a piece of cake.
  15. Warmachine on allspark customized a classics Ultra Magnus into something more fitting the name. They're' selling it here. It seems like a pretty simple to add paint scheme. Although I wonder if there's a better/cheaper way to kitbash the head. From his description: "CUSTOM TRANSFORMERS CLASSICS ULTRA MAGNUS G1 STYLE. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE, BUT THIS IS MY VERSION OF HIM. ANYWAY, I FABRICATED A NEW HEAD FROM THE ONE HE CAME WITH BUY GRINDING AND TRIMMING OUT THE EYES AND FACESHEILD AND USING CLASSICS JETFIRES FACE INSTEAD. THEN I CUSTOM PAINTED HIM TO RESEMBLE G1 ULTRA MAGNUS FROM THE ORIGINAL 1980`S TOON. I DIDN`T BOTHER WITH ALT MODE PICS BECAUSE HE LOOKS THE EXACT SAME WAY AS HE DID BEFORE. I ACTUALLY LIKE IT LIKE THAT. THE ONLY THING THAT MIGHT LOOK ANY DIFFERENT IS THAT THE EXAUST PIPES ARE NOW WHITE AND SILVER AS OPPOSED TO ALL BLACK." Lots more pics here:http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m296/Wa...Ultra%20Magnus/
  16. I'd probably entertain buying some of these new planes if they grouped them together into packs. The pricing structure as is is simply absurd. I don't know what they're thinking.
  17. Or....Botcon Bluestreak and Botcon Smokescreen....
  18. I saw no Joker goons. That could be a very good thing.
  19. 4 months later......my HD dvds from the free offer August promotion arrive, and somehow I really don't care.....
  20. It's a good time to be a Transformers fan, no doubt. However, it's probably a terrible time to be a kid with Transformers on your Christmas list this year. I just went through a couple toy aisles in a couple different stores, and there's really nothing there.
  21. I really hope 12 year old boys don't have an ass like Grace Park's.
  22. I just want something that isn't going to tower over the Legioss/MPC Alpha I have it next to.
  23. I'm not sure how many were made. I remember the one ebay auction description I read saying that it was available only as a kit at one convention in Japan, so I'd imagine that'd be anywhere from a couple hundred to maybe a thousand max. I think that auction was at about $200 when I stopped paying attention to it. The Titanium Scourge turned out very nice, imo. He really needs a counterpart. Heck, there's even Quintessons of every type coming out(see here). And with a Galvatron coming out, we need a Cyclonus so we can recreate the scene where Cyclonus and Scourge trick Galvatron into psychotherapy on psychotherapy planet.
  24. Trying to catch up on this. Out of the upcoming ones, the CMS one is the smallest scale then? A smaller scale version is a selling point for me.
