Bandai Origin of Valkyrie 1/55 News Thread
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
Valkyrie-exchange has them for only $88, shipping included! -
I hope Yamato makes a significant indicator on the box that says whether the VF-0S has the new arms or not, maybe a slight packaging difference, like changing the color of the background or something. A sticker is easily removed, the color of an entire printed background is not. The reason why I say this is because I too, want a VF-0 at some point. I know some fans hate the design because it is so reminscent of the VF-1, but I love it, its the valk I always saw as bridging the gap between a fully fledged variable fighter(VF-1), and a conventionally powered fighter like the F-14. The A model is so damn sexy too, love that grey paint job.

Which of the CONFIRMED VF100's are you looking forward to the most
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Toys
I actually don't think it was ever listed, the main hint was the Macross II title listed on the bottom of the ad, amongst the other Macross titles such as Zero, SDF Macross, Macross 7, and Plus. Since the 2SS has a niche following, is the most popular valk from II, and II is listed, I think if any valk comes from that movie, it'll be the 2SS, which can be released with red, yellow, and blue trim. I remember Nexx specifically having a different gun. I for one would want the red mecha he fought(man its been so long since I've watched it), the Metal Siren, and VF-2JA(MAN that thing doesn't get any love, and its an awesome design!). I think this line will be awesome if the obscure valks make it into the lineup, its good for us since it won't break the wallet. Potentially more articulate than a Revoltech valkyrie, and with a sculpt better than perfect transformation valk toys, but not as good as model kits, we could have a good winner here. It can't do what a model does best(look the more accurate/best), but it can pull off what most perfect transformation valks can't(look accurate, and be more articulated). Sure technology is improving and advancing some might say at an alarming rate, but as it stands it seems that designing a perfect transformation toy for any company designing a valk toy is hard enough as it is. -

25th Anniversary G.I. Joes, Wave II
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Mog's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Alright, I haven't found the exact post, but some members at HissTank who pre-ordered are now getting a ship date of 11/7. There is speculation of a restock, unlike the previous 3 gijoe exclusive vehicles at target. Some members who pre-ordered already have their planes on the way. Me personally, I opted to wait, and enjoy the thrill of the hunt. I have been waiting 21 years for the v1 Conquest. Sure I could have obtained a vintage sample, restored it, cleaned it, and added new stickers, but nothing beats the feeling of buying something you've wanted for years, MIB, new, and yours to open. I do have the 98 version, which I enjoy a lot, but I keep that one for Ace, and the v1 deco is much better. -
The question is, if one orders the VF-0S from HLJ, will HLJ ship them the restocked one, or the older version? From what I understand, unless you take it out of the box and handle it, there's little much else to identify which is the newer one.

The VF-1 is significantly smaller than the 25, I doubt the VF-1 Bandai makes will cost the same as the 25 unless a launch arm display/diorama and full complement of FAST packs are included. Well said. Quite honestly, the 1/100 VF-0S that Yamato planned looks nowhere near as good as the 1/100 VF-25 that Bandai has shown. Very true, with bashing on both sides, I think a lot of fans fail to realize the benefit of two competent, competing companies. More variety, competitive pricing(both trying to undercut each other), and more motivation to outdo each other resulting in increasingly better product on both sides. While the David and Goliath go at it, we get to enjoy all of their products, its a win/win situation for all of us. Honestly I think the parts swapping option is the bastardized choice given to the fandom. The aircraft model builders don't want something that transforms at all, toy fans want perfect transformation, the ones that are open to parts swapping are those who build variable plamo and understand the compromises involved, and enjoy them. Those of us toyfans that are open to parts swap are for the most part reluctant, only wanting minimal swapping, like those of parts not necessary for transformation, such as landing gears. The same group that wants a toy that looks good in all modes despite parts swapping fit in that group. Ultimately I hope that if the toys do need parts swapped for transformation, that Bandai supplies less anime accurate parts as optional pieces that can maintain perfect transformation, so you simply swap out depending on your taste. Less accurate parts for perfect transformation, or swap to swap parts for swap transformation but more accurate appearances.

No one saw the VF100s line coming, so Bandai may be much further along than we think. At one point, we only thought the 1/100 line was only for the 25, then we barely hear anything, then tiny pics in magazines, then Bandai comes out of nowhere with an ad hinting at future releases all over the f^&*cking place.

Bandai Origin of Valkyrie 1/55 News Thread

Drifand you forgot the 1A TV Max type! Combat relevance man! Combat relevance>flashy looks. Seems like both Yamato, and Bandai always go for the flashier valks for Max, and everyone else, which Max valk is always released? DYRL. Which one comes out after? TV. Which one is the most important yet is only now being made as an extremely limited run release? The TV 1A. What I do like is that the 1A from DYRL now has grey on Max..grey does go good with blue, but as said earlier I am partial towards ultraviolent white. Hell yea! -
Yamato 1/60 VF-1A/D/J/S v2.0
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Dante74's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
No, we could have double jointed knes that bend much further than 90 degrees, and an angled cut join in each thigh, similar to Revoltech, that enables a more dynamic/wider hip stance. -

Not sure if a lot of people here are buying them either, as far as I know, me and Toonz have been the only members here to buy an Origin of Valkyrie release. -
Man, I'd rather have a weathered paint job on the new 1/60!!!

Thats like saying the new Yamato 1/60 is an abomination compared to the Hasegawa, without taking account that one is perfect transformation, and one cannot transform whatsoever. I think it is to Kawamori also I doubt that. Undoubtedly Yamato has made the most accurate perfect transformation valkyrie toys these past years, since they got the license. They've shown that they are willing to start from scratch to make a better valkyrie, and completely outdo previous releases. However as a smaller company(as is oft stated in their defense when someone mentions how their releases cost more than someone like, Bandai's), their quality control in their releases is definitely representative of a smaller company(in other words, you'll definitely get a toy that looks awesome, but cross your fingers that it isn't broke). The YF-21, Nora 51, and new VF-1s have typically been fault free, but how anyone could have overlooked the fragile shoulder hinge on the new VF-1 is beyond me. Their designs are very ambitious for a small company, and their dedication to Macross, and other mecha franchises that are not always the most popular, is impressive. Kawamori approves their designs and requests changes, this is what he is doing right now with Bandai, there is no reason to believe that he wouldn't request the same changes of Yamato, that he is now requesting of Bandai. I don't even see any comparison whatsoever of the new DX VF-25 to the DX Macross 7 valks from years ago. Those really, are more comparable to Takara's transformers mainline jets, the 25 is much more refined, proportions in fighter mode are much more accurate, you don't see the LERX'es shoved up near the randome at all, making a slender valkyrie look like a Legioss with FSW. The battroid mode is one I actually like, because it does deviate from the onscreen appearance with a more balanced, as opposed to lanky look. Unlike the DX Fire Valykrie, the 25 doesn't look like a red Eva with wings. The articulation is much better, the detail more intricate, the proportions much better. The reason Yamato might make a better one is because once they are able to, it will be years later. At that point, Bandai's will have already been out, the good things and bad things will be known about the toy, and Yamato can avoid those faults by making sure they don't design things the same way, as the problematic areas. At that point, since Kawamori wouldn't be working on the Frontier anime anymore(unless there is more seasons or OVA or movies), he has more time to consult(well more opportunities I should say), so he isn't bothered while he is planespotting. Yet even then, knowing Yamato's track record and knowing that most of their toys in general, are not as durable as Bandai's in general, and knowing that Kawamori may make the same demands/changes/requests on them as he is on Bandai, will there's really be better? Who the hell knows, shi^&t, it makes me happy because we have variety, we have 2 1/60 VF-25 toy types to look forward to, and competition generally drives the price down. These are definitely made for adults, most toy companies in japan shifted even more towards catering to collectors years ago, as the birth rate in japan is in decline at an all time high.

What I like, is that it has a more militaristic look and makes the skull stand out more. I'll admit, I prefer light grey or ultraviolent purple tinted white to eggshell white. -
The fastest way for releasing the hip bar when going from battroid to fighter took me less than 3 seconds. Pull the back(not backpack, the actual back), which well angle the swing bar, then rotate both legs downwards 90 degrees, nose hatch is now open, now just push the hip bar forward. Its very simple and I think it is highlighted in the manual, there is a pic that seemingly refers to it. That part no longer worries me at all. The shoulders on mine are loosening to the point that stress has eased on the shoulder hinge. Those of you who broke the shoulder hinge, did breakages occur due to transformation or posing?

Yamato 1/60 VF-1A/D/J/S v2.0

Agreed. The only thing the 1/48 has over the new 1/60, is a more firm/more durable shoulder hinge. -
Ride Armors, Legioss and Treads! Oh my!
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to EXO's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I thought they were....they are bringing over the bad ass beagle, I thought CMs was included too, I guess not. Man..I want a CMS Legioss/Tread here...after suffering with my yet to be fixed red Legioss from Aoshima...poo..I read that the CMs is much more durable and I like the way it looks...long nose ftw... Speaking of which the shoulder pin on my Aoshima Legioss(the one in the hinge connecting the arm to the body) was not pushed in all the way at the factory. The bonehead who forgot to do this probably didn't take into account that without the pin shoved in all the way, the whole god damn arm assembly is prone to falling off, as a result of the pin falling out, and it has! So yeah, anyone figure out a way to fix this? The pin just needs to be shoved in, but I cannot figure out how to get the shoulder open..are there tiny hammers or mallets small enough to bang this piece of poo in or what? -
Star Wars: Force Unleased

Yes, Lucas was constantly interacting with the development staff with regards to the story, and characters. The staff went along with his suggestions, and he did have a hand in the story. From what I read last night, the apprentice's true identity is not learned in the game, but he is named in the novel. Beforehand he was said to be the child of 2 jedi, the father rumored to be Quinlan Vos. Some of this I got from the Art book, which is awesome and I did not even realize it was out til sunday! I thought it would be out later this month. Excellent book, especially if you are a fan of digital paintings and concept art. It has some spoilers though, so be warned. -

Has anyone found a way to pull off the shoulder pads in battroid mode, and reach the screws as to loosen them?
