  1. Can you take pics if you do? Now the question is, is it by Motor Max Toys or M&C Toy Centre, the company that makes Power Team Elite(PTE)? I know M & C Toy Centre did make a PTE blackhawk a few years back. The new F-22 is actually from Motor Max Toys, which surprised me. I suspect that it may have been developed in coordination with M & C Toy Centre, as the construction is very reminiscent of something they would pull off. Normally, PTE and Chap Mei vehicles are repackaged under the Elite Operations banner for TRU. It seems that this fall, the Elite Operations banner is being replaced by True Heroes. This is why many of us thought the F-22 was a PTE vehicle(and it very well may be). Either the F-22 was made solely by Motor Max Toys as their first foray into joe compatible military vehicles, or a collaboration between them and M & C Toy Centre. I highly suspect the latter. The landing gear doors are attached to the gear, so when folded up, there aren't many obvious, "toylike" gaps, that are common on Hasbro's G.I. Joe offerings. There is interior detail within the engine nozzles past the thrust vectoring panels. I wasn't expecting this at all, so this is very impressive, especially for a $24.99 toy. Most importantly, I placed my 25th comic pack Ace with helmet on, into the cockpit, and he fits just fine!. So there you have it folks, forget buying the VVV Thunderwing, if you want an F-22, get something better and cheaper, get the True Heroes F-22. If Hasbro makes a YF-23 Skystriker II from Resolute I hope it is up to par with this plane, because for affordable "joe scale" vehicles, Motor Max toys just raised the bar. Oh not to mention, this toy is actually significantly bigger than the Thunderwing, which also makes it bigger than the Conquest and Rattler too. The only thing I don't like is the angle for the vertical stabilizers, seems like they need to be more outward. Oh and there is no stickers to apply. There are only 6 stickers and they are already preapplied. I hear that this toy is actually 1/32 scale, if not, very close. Since it is affordable, I may pick up a few more to customize, with waterslide decals and apply good amounts of clear coat to prevent from scratching. The deco is so plain, it seems like it is begging to be painted!
  2. Well if it ends up defective, you'll definitely hear about it if I get one. That might not even be how the VF-25 transforms according to the line art and animation, the VF-0 was the same way, so the beloved Yamato wouldn't make retractable hands for this either if they had the license and if this is the case.
  3. Yeah and by keeping support for accurate toys with arms that break off and many other random pieces in flawed first runs, we will just keep getting broken toys in the future. No sh!t, why do you think people complain when something from any company breaks? True, I remember when this place didn't reak of bias, and when most of us were drooling at the various customs, and wishing someone would make Macross toys again in any form. Sadly true, especially the last part. When those were first announced, they were announced to come with the packs. Depends on which view and which mode you are looking at, the gullet on the 19 is an obvious give away, as are the skinny legs on the 21(which I have defended by the way), incorrect crotch placement on the 19(bam there is something familiar with the 25 aside transformation!), et al.
  4. Point is, you shouldn't have to. Which is the same reason that this may actually be a good thing for all of us, maybe 8-10 years from now, broken arms, Tab B's, canopy hinges, broken hips, chipped intakes, bp8's, missing heads, flawed 1st releases, weak hinges on parts that endure a lot of tension, rubber seepage, incorrect installation of pins into critical hinges, unforseen breakages due to unforseen chemical reactions between contacting plastic pieces, et al will be ghosts in Yamato's past, and they will finally have their quality control problems eliminated so that they can seriously take on the giant company of Bandai. What they do is admirable but their accomplishments which are no easy feat, are easily tarnished by quality control problems. Maybe they can make a VF-25 that doesn't break. Can they do it now? Who the hell knows. Maybe that is the reason Big West is letting Bandai hold onto the license for Frontier so long. Broken VF-0 arms, problems prior to that in recent years, and more recently, some broken VF-1S toys probably didn't inspire a lot of confidence in Big West. Broke toys don't make a profit. I like the way the 25 is turning out, like how it is more balanced and thicker compared to the model kit, like how the gear is not as long, and like the overall look. I wish the crotch placement was like the model kit's. I wish the nose gear was just a little bit longer, and that the gear overall were more detailed. I don't mind the inaccuracies so long as Bandai was going for specific approaches for a good reason. It is not like Bandai shoved all the robot limbs underneath and made them blatantly obvious, or shove huge gatling guns under the wings to cover up the intakes, then in robot mode, call the gatling guns arms, or simply did away with landing gears to begin with and just make the engine turbines swivel out from under the intakes to serve as landing gear. That is what some modern transforming jet toys do, some as recent as last year.
  5. Serious eh? That would certainly take into account something called durability correct? That is an aspect of quality, merely looking damn accurate and accomplishing the feat of perfect transformation doesn't cut it, durability has to be taken into account. If you were buying a SHE, IHP, or modded Hase I could understand since those are not supposed to be played with, but when you see toys being made by companies catering to collectors there are no excuses. These companies in question aren't making garage kits here, there is no excuse for breakages out of the box and questionable design decisions. It would be a real pleasure to see another company take a stab at the design and make it more accurate; but that pleasure is diminished if something like, oh, an arm falls off. It doesn't to me, I don't see huge, obvious diecast swing bars in fighter mode, an exposed head without any attempt to hide it, a gun that can't be mounted in fighter mode, legs that can only be swung up and down and not sideways, et a I don't think Ginrai ever stated that it was a good toy. I think he only made the comparison since it is a modern DX toy, based on a mecha designed by Kawamori and made by Bandai, and it is a more accurate comparison to the new DX VF-25 than comparing the 25 to the 1/55 VF-1.
  6. It's because most of the time when a hand is made to be articulated on a toy, the sculpt/size is usually compromised, and the fingers are prone to looseness. This is the same reason why Yamato eventually included swappable hands on their later 1/48 releases, and included them from the start on the new 1/60. Bandai got around this on their gundam models by eventually adding a tab to secure weaponry or accessories placed in the hand, in addition to swappable sets of hands.
  7. I want to see those, a Metal Siren, VF-2JA(come on, I cana't be the ONLY one who loves that thing!), and VF-19S. The 19S is sexy, I actually hated it at first, then I kept seeing similarities between it and the YF-23.
  8. They look nice, and accurate, but I actually like the more balanced appearance of the toys better. The model looks more anorexic in comparison, sure it is more accurate, but in this case, I don't mind the changes to the toy. Maybe it is just me, but maybe that is a good thing. Maybe years from now, when they are finally able to get the license, their qc will be through the roof and their toys damn near indestructible. Maybe Yamato will finally have their durability match their high level of accuracy. Same here...but god damn it that sucks for us in the states!
  9. On a brighter note I guess that is confirmation that we get a stand!
  10. So the Ozma version was shown, just in fighter mode though. Didn't expect to see Luca and Michel's valk painted up. Any price given for the Super packs for Alto, if they are available seperate or bundled?
  11. A voice of reason! God damn it I miss your reviews man! Agreed Actually, it was $48 something plus tax. With tax in my state, I paid $51+.
  12. Does yours have the sides of the windscreen painted? I hate that about the paint apps!
  13. New TRU F-22 Man I hope the anniversary figures can be shoved into the cockpit! This looks way better than the bloated, tiny wing Thunderwing!
  14. Hmmm...that is worth trying out, Revan is my favorite character. I wish it had a more accurate head though, don't know what concept art hasbro was looking at when they sculpted his head!
  15. I just meant with regards to not necessarily needing to remove parts to transform, but I do agree, no visible swing bars.
  16. The Imai? God I hope not, swapping an entire cockpit/nose section would suck. Keep it like the Toynami 1/100(not in quality but in transformation); the only swapping parts being the landing gear and the heat shield/canopy.
  17. Hmm...interesting that the crotch placement is the same. I do like the more balanced appearance. Same here, nothing has to be completely accurate just to look good. Same reason I like the CMS Legioss. *edit whoops!* There aren't blatantly obvious pieces this toy that make it look like a child's toy. It's definitely a toy for the older fan, just not the most accurate.
  18. Man that sucks, I hope the g1 screamer repaint turns out better. I finally found Animated Ultra Magnus, it's the best Animated Leader figure out of the three released so far. The hidden weaponry is impressive. He is the most heavily armed of all Animated Autobots so far in the toy line. Transformation is impressive because both modes retain the blocky, animated aesthetic, and it is deceptive. It is much more complex than meets the eye. Ratchets all over the place too, I love that aspect. With weapons revealed, the look changes significantly in every mode, aside from lacking a rifle, the Animated Magnus has way more weaponry than the G1 Magnus. For those of you tired of Magnus being a repaint of Prime in white with supplemental armor, this figure is for you. He has more features than Bulkhead, is more stable than Megatron with regards to holding poses, and has gimmicks that enhance both playability and aesthetic very well. It might just be the best Autobot figure in the line so far. I think the only one that may top it is Animated Omega Supreme. It is definitely one of the best figures in the line.
  19. Man they should give us a Darth Revan with ball jointed knees and ankles too, those are the only joints missing on the figure!
  20. I saw Acid Storm and I do like the Classic screamer mold, so I was debating whether I should buy Acid Storm or not. I held off for now, are the pieces of the windscreen painted on all of them? If so....why in the hell?......I was surprised and dissapointed.
  21. Just for Alto and Ozma, Michel and Luca are said to come with their respective packs.
  22. You have to lift the hinge that the neck is attached to, towards you before you take remove the hip bar.
  23. Damn, this is impressive and very generous on their part. Thanks Over-Drive!
