  1. In KOTOR, Darth Malak was a PITGDA to beat for me.
  2. The 1/60 fixes nearly everything that was wrong on the 1/48. The 1/48 had a huge chest, huge legs, and skinny arms with a hand the exact same size as the new 1/60. The 1/60 has an appearance reminiscent of the way it was portrayed in the animation, and has a more balanced look. The arms are not skinny or tiny, the chest is not bulging and huge, and same with the legs. The head has more range of motion. The only advantages that the 1/48 had are a shoulder section that I have never heard of breakages on, and an easier way of getting the hip bar secured/removed in battroid mode. The 1/60's excellent qualities are tainted by the design flaw inherent in the shoulder hinge. Had that been rectified before production we would have had a solid winner here. As it is, it's "almost there". The hip bar removal in battroid mode is not a pain in the ass as I thought it would be. Just pull on the back which in turn angles the swing bar, then simultaneously swivel both legs down, this will pop out the flap, then merely push up on the hip bar to get it out. That's it.
  3. Same here. My big question now, will all those details be painted on the toy? If so...holy sh1t. Especially impressive on Ozma's.
  4. According to Vifam7's translation of the GA page, they do. Well we also have to take into account that the plamo market is arguably bigger, and more popular, and Bandai is offering their fans 3 different types of VF-25. It seems that a toy that is sturdy but inaccurate is acceptable since there is already superb accuracy offered on the plamo. However in my opinion the overall balanced appearance of the DX is my preference over the skinny, more accurate plamo. I don't think this is a case where Bandai purposely sabotaged their own DX toy, I think they just wanted each design team to go separate directions, and play the strengths of each one(parts former, perfect variable, plamo). As in best accuracy for a plamo as always expected, superb durability in sturdiness on the DX perfect variable, and make the 1/100 look more accurate than the DX, but more durable than the plamo. I like this because there is more variety. God damn it I miss your posts. That's another reason why I think Bandai went the route of offering 3 different forms of VF-25. Yamato would only offer 1, and it might bite off more than it can chew like some of the previous releases. Seems Yamato will make all the compromises to make something look good and be perfect.
  5. I'm hoping for the same thing. You forgot the head lasers being able to angle outwards too.
  6. Pain in the ass. Really, the only sore spot on the v2 1/60. I've tried what you said before, and finally initiated loosening the screws on the shoulders. Now I can pose mine to my content, no breakage yet. The 1/60 VF-1A v2 has shoulders that are considerably looser, yet no breakages. With a model, not a toy. Therefore..I highly disagree with the following: There are still no breakages reported on the v2 VF-1A's shoulders, so loosening the screws on the shoulders of the VF-1S is to your advantage. It is a pain in the ass to constantly brace them just to prevent breakage, see if it was designed better, you wouldn't have to do that. I don't see anything wrong with constructive criticism. You can't enjoy something completely if you have to keep doing sh!t to prevent breakage. F*ck that. Once I loosened the shoulders on mine I didn't have to brace them any longer. Hell, maybe we can consider the overtightening from the factory to be tampering from the workers who assembled the toys. Over a long time. Chances are the hinge will break unintentionally before the shoulders are ever loose enough to move without needing to brace them.
  7. Music to my god damn ears. We haven't heard of a Macross toy being like that since when...the 80's? Welcome to the club...sadly yes Hmm...he always seems to do that. He's always done it with Yamato, so there is a chance Yamato's would have turned out very similar if they did it..only..well..the expected...uhm......breakages.
  8. It's of paramount relevance because we want to be able to handle something that really shouldn't break. We aren't buying a model kit, a garage kit, a kitbash, or any of that, yes we are buying a collector's toy and we don't treat it the same way a 5 year old would, but it should be able to take more abuse than a model kit and not break. There are a lot of members here who spent the amount of money specified on Yamato's toys and had something break when it shouldn't have, and not all of the breakages were due to carelessness. Why am I so vocal about and critical on the v2 1/60 VF-1S? Because after years, Yamato was so fart1ng close to making a god damn durable valkyrie, but the flawed design of the shoulders got in the way. Hell yea man Indeed it is. No, the companies in question need to find better ways to design parts. The numbers speak man, even if you have minimum breakages, there are many more people with breakages for Yamato toys. Why else do you think everyone was overjoyed when Overdrive decided to offer free replacement parts on broken toys?
  9. Metal composite Zeta Plus looks BAD ASS. I heard good things about the RX-78-2 version with G Fighter months back. The single version came out recently, how much do these things usually run, and when is the Zeta Plus set for release?
  10. Is that black and red King Gainer just a special repaint, or based on an actual paint scheme in the series? I just started King Gainer and like it so far, that Revoltech black and red version looks great.
  11. Agreed. I prefer the design of the old 1/60 shoulder. NO breakages on that shoulder joint whatsoever reported.
  12. What I do like about the landing gear is that they seem to fit seamless. Definitely looks good, if it is articulate enough(which it could be judging by the joints seen on the resin prototypes months back), there might not be a need to buy a Revoltech or even a Robot Damashii version.
  13. It is mainly because there is more space for a figure to sit within. I heard that the Skystriker was actually 1/32 as well. Most of the ones out right now would, and wouldn't work unless you modified them. WWII warbirds are out of the question. It should be, they merged with the American TRU recently. Nope. See if a company like Hasbro or Motormax makes a vehicle that is made for joes to sit in, but made in a smaller scale, I don't mind. That is one of the reasons I like the True Heroes F-22 so much, over the Thunderwing. The Thunderwing was made for joes to sit in, with scale thrown out the window, and it shows.
  14. Same here. Even the big toy companies are feeling the heat too.
  15. Because the loyal Yamato supporters feel the need to show their admiration. Hell it's not like it's needed on this site of all places, it is blatantly obvious which company nearly everyone here is loyal to. I hope we hear something soon regarding the reissues, haven't seen any new chunkies since the VF-1A DYRL Super pack bundles.
  16. Like it usually does: ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE
  17. mickayesou, anymore images? I see the VF-25S at the top of the scan.
  18. What are you talking about? Have you handled MP Prime or Starscream? The MP and Binaltech/Alternator figures are toys, not model kits. Collector's toys yes, but still toys. MP Prime is one of the most durable collectors toys I have ever handled, and to an extent, Starscream is fairly durable too.
  19. True. It is sad thing specifically for this toy, as everywhere else, it is pretty much solid all around. I prefer the 1/48 swing bar/hip placement, but even then getting the swing bar in place for battroid, and taking it back out was nowhere near as much as a b1tch as I thought it would be.
  20. Why? You have to assemble and paint those yourself, plus add decals/stickers if you choose to. With the 1/100 the toy is already made for you. Assembly of the product is taken account into the cost.
  21. Oh man...I LOVED the Mandolorians after KOTOR, hopefully I can make my character into a renegade Mandolorian Sith.
  22. It's too early to tell from the pics of the lineart, where we only see 2 modes and nothing showing the transformation from 1 mode to the other, just supplementary gimmicks. If we were shown the same thing with MP Prime(lineart just showing 2 modes), we wouldn't be able to tell if it even had the chest transformation you were talking about.
  23. The only MPs with complex transformations were Megatron and Starscream. Prime is easy to transform, even Starscream to some extent. Takara did what you wanted with MP Starscream and people complained.
  24. Have any of you tried pre/post shading your custom joe vehicles? I might try it on my first custom.
