  1. Did they send an order confirmation yet? I would email them to find out what is going on.
  2. So that they can make more money when someone has to buy another valkyrie for another head. All companies do this, not just Yamato.
  3. Thanks Graham. I hope they listen. None of their older VF-1 toys had this problem.
  4. Whoa...the TIE Avenger looks cool! Thanks for posting that, I've never seen it. I like the Interceptor the best, followed by the Bomber. The Defender looks weird, though I'll admit I like it better than the one in the Legacy comics, forgot what that was called. Surprisingly enough, I'm not a big fan of the regular TIE fighter. Looks too plain to me. BTW guys, NEW prototypes!
  5. If they didn't care they wouldn't be paying to keep the license. Maybe they were just waiting for the right moment to strike, and with a movie on the horizon, on the heels of a recently completed series, this year is a great time to flood the market. A company that doesn't care wouldn't be making 2 different toylines, some gashapons, plamo, and possibly more, they could be using their money for something else. Also the DX Macross 7 valks are a far cry from the way the DX 25 turned out, so who knows man what if Bandai decides to make DX 1/60 Macross 7 toys later? Companies are more willing to take risks during a movie year, Bandai is no different. Hasbro does it all the time with Star Wars and Transformers, and will be doing the same with G.I. Joe, and every other company does the exact same thing; take more chances during a movie year and pump out product that otherwise wouldn't even be produced.
  6. I hope we get a VF-171EX and VF-27 this year.
  7. No it's called business. Why do you think Yamato was the only company carrying the 1/60 and 1/72 Macross Plus licenses, as well as 1/60 VF-1 and 1/60 Macross Zero? Why do you think the Mospeada toys by different companies in Japan are all in different scales? Wouldn't matter for me, I love gloss. Even some of my G.I. Joe vehicles have gloss and I quite like it. The model is actually similar.
  8. That ultimately is a waste of money though. That's like saying "sure some of the ones you buy will be broke, but some won't". No offense man. I would just advise to be cautious when planning to buy any of these toys. It's to everyone's advantage to be patient and wait it out. I can see the line as not worth buying unless: A-Yamato comes up with a fix B-the potential buyer is willing to implement DIY fixes. The former should have been done as soon as the 1S breakages occurred, and the latter shouldn't have to be done. That's the way it is though. I hope m0n5ter's fix can save my 1S. Everything else on the 1/60 is structurally sound and high in durability, surpassing the 1/48 which was very sturdy and durable to begin with. Why Yamato dropped the ball on the shoulders puzzles me, especially because the piece is so simple and their SV-51 and YF-21, both much more complex, turned out relatively problem free.
  9. Yamato always tells Graham that. They said the same exact thing when the VF-0 arm breakages occurred soon after the 0S was first release, and also when the Bp8's broke after the first 1/48 was released at the end of 2002. Yes. It also helps that they know most people here will buy them. I think it is because they were the only game in town for all new, perfect variable Macross toys these past 8 years. They could relax because there was no competitor in sight with a same scale license. There was no one else to go to but them. The designs are brilliant. You look at what they came up with 9 years ago when they first started out with their YF-19 and other Macross Plus toys and nothing came close. For some reason, a lot of problems aren't identified during testing. Whoever is doing the testing of the toys and running them through their cycles is obviously missing somethings. And these things add up over time. It could be Yamato underestimating their customers like back in the day. Back when the v1 1/60 came out, the Hikaru 1A's backpack was not secure at all in fighter mode, so if you turned it upside down, the backpack would go limp and fall down. Yamato said that they never anticipated their customers to do barrel rolls with their valkyrie. They even went as far to say that some Japanese customers were taking the valks into the shower with them, and they hadn't seen that coming. I didn't either but still the barrel roll comment surprised me. I can handle delays so long as the toys end up sound. Everyone made a huge deal when this new qc guy came onboard and was responsible for the SV-51 and YF-21 turning out relatively problem free. It puzzles me how those two designs, which are much, much, more complex than the v2 1/60 VF-1, turned out relatively problem free and we have the comparitively simple v2 VF-1 turn out with broken shoulder hinges. If diecast hinges would solve the problem then I am all for it, I don't care if it is bare metal, just so long as it doesn't break.
  10. Yeah but Graham was told 1/2 of Shin's shipped out were fixed, 1/2 were screwed. Yours must be fixed. Anyways I hope it is, it would suck to have a broken 0, it is one of the most beautiful valk designs.
  11. From the fix and procedures that m0n5ter suggested, it seems to work. He manhandled that thing more than anyone else would even dare! Salamat m0n5ter! The more DIY solutions come up which are pretty much neccessary at this point as to not break the things, the more these toys sound like Dragon's 1/72 diecast models.
  12. Yes, please. CM's an Toynami engineered disappointing Legioss toys. Both look great to me(I have Zetas from both companies), but quality wise, both companies turned out way better Treads/Betas than Legioss/Alphas. Would be if it was engineered better. Make it 1/32 and be done with it. Fits in with a popular model aircraft scale, and would be the biggest Legioss ever made.
  13. Gloss finish makes toys look refined to me. I even like gloss on military aircraft, as unrealistic as it might sound, even low viz planes.
  14. Have you handled the arms extensively and have they exploded?
  15. Man I hope Toynami gives them a non-transforming sculpt of an Alpha and just says "make it transformable and HAVE AT IT! Oh yea, just as durable as the beta too, kthxbye!~" Hey Save, did Aoshima say if they were going to make the Treads at a different factory than the one they made their Legiosses in?
  16. Aye nako! Putanginang hinge! Ng fix ni m0n5t3r baka mag ayusan ng hinge. Sini sabuken mo yan? Baka mag try ako ito, para mag save ng Roy 1S ko. Magandang laruan itong 1S perong mi discracia sa hinge. It is a big crack on a small part. Once that one goes, the only other thing holding onto the pin is the part on the opposite side. Once that one goes, the entire arm falls off. Agreed. Either that or use a hinge similar in design to the v1 1/60 shoulder hinge, of course without the chestplate hindering arm rotation forward. I don't really care for the hinges being able to move in and out, it's almost redundant articulation.
  17. I've always done that, but the moment I move any joint, be it an arm or leg, or bending the knees, the gun immediately falls out.
  18. I doubt that they will since it is for the most part, the exact same thing as their current 1S Roy only with different pilot and TV hands included. Also Yamato never made a TV accurate 1S in the past.
  19. Any tips on getting the Legioss to grip the gun better in solder/diver modes? I could be doing something wrong, but I'm not sure. I noticed that a lot of you guys have the Legioss posed with gun in hand.
  20. Lucky you! I have the Zeta/red CM's Legioss, and the gun falls out of the hand every time I move something!
  21. I doubt it, BBTS won't be pricing as high.
  22. Those of you with the CM's Legioss, have you found a way for the hands to grip the gun better? Every time I move the figure, the gun falls out!
  23. No one spoke about it because it is old. HOLY CRAP $258?! for that thing? You can get the YF-21 WITH EMS SHIPPING from HLJ for much less!
  24. Wait Roy definitely deserved the treatment man, the scene where he saved came out of nowhere and saved Minmay and Hikaru rules. And if you are referring to Max's 1S, it was involved in the best 1 on 1 dogfight in DYRL.
  25. No I was merely suggesting that it could be a possible exclusive by Tamashii in the future(the heavy armor/sniper rifle from the last episode that I suggested).
