  1. Do the lower legs not stay up well in fighter mode or something?
  2. Yeah that was something that bothered me a lot too, the lack of good connection points in fighter mode. Very disappointed with that.
  3. I want lots of ratchets and near indestructible materials used for construction.
  4. That's more or less what the TakaraTomy designer said about it. He had to design the whole figure around the speaker box and combination gimmick.
  5. The CM's is disappointing too. I got an Aoshima Zeta(red?) and was extremely disappointed. A lemon. If the Toynami Robotech MPC is better it's only because of marginal higher quality but even so, the design is FLAWED to begin with. Though the MPC VF-1 is basically a warped copy of the HCM with influence from the Imai 1/72 kits, it is a better toy than the Toynami Alpha. The only thing the Alpha has going for it is sculpt, the design decisions behind it are very very questionable. If you get a CM's, track down Stiq's blue version WITH the gatling cannon and new fixed-pose hands. The standard articulated hands are disappointing and don't hold the gun worth a damn when posing. Mine would CONSTANTLY fall out. Frustrating. Other than the hands, which were a borderline dealbreaker for me, the CM's release is just decent. Also the gatling cannon reissue(EX?) also has a better connection with the Tread. The 1st releases had a laughable combination connection.
  6. In would buy both, love the woodland camo as it seems like it was made to commemorate the retirement of the Mitsubishi F-1.
  7. Sell it man! I sold my V1 and after getting my hands on the Renewal, man the Renewal just blows it away.
  8. I hope they tampo the chest markings, but if they don't, I will use the NUNS stickers, as they complement the blue stripes really well for some reason. The blue stripes, the fact that Gamlin used the D 1st and ended the TV series with the D model, and that HEAD SCULPT...those are reasons why I want the D. The S looks cool too but damn that D head sculpt is just awesome...reminds me of the VF-1J too, which isn't a bad thing at all.
  9. I actually overlooked the part where you stated "modern toys". How is the 25S Renewal compared to the 25F? I should have one coming in soon, but I was wondering if the joints seemed to be tighter, specifically the metal ball joints. I sold off my V1 25S, and am glad I did, because this new one looks way better.
  10. Happened to mine not too long after I got it. I suspect it's because the lasers are made from PVC. Reminds me that there's only one company that knocked it out the park the 1st go around. RIP Takatoku
  11. I still think the VF-17D will look awesome, as good as the S has looked in the galleries posted so far.
  12. Works for me, I want both, and now have time to save up!

  14. So I take it this won't be that much bigger than the VF-1 in fighter mode, unless the measurements in the VF Master Files books are wrong.
  15. The sculpt looks EXCELLENT. The articulation is very impressive too. I have decided to wait for the VF-17D which I suspect will be even sexier. PIC REQUEST: Nightmare next to 1/48 VF-1(any).
  16. F-104 & SR-71 Blackbird say yes
  17. Sounds great to me then. Fighter to battroid for the 21/22S is easy, tucking the legs into fighter when going from battroid to fighter is the snag for me. Nightmare is appealing but I think the D model will look best. That blue and that head sculpt. I believe it, best time to release it(Macross 30th and while Frontier is still popular), plus Bandai can catch onto the exposure that Yamato's 17 is getting.
  18. Is it a higher learning curve than the YF-21/VF-22S?
  19. I'm guessing this will be the yen equivalent of $300+. I'm gonna start saving.
  20. It is a toy, fully assembled and painted, read Graham's 1st post in this thread.
  21. I HOPE we get the 1/55 Strike Valkyrie, Super O and ELINT. 1/55 is still my favorite VF-1 toy design. Takatoku rules. The aforementioned Strike Valk was teased for the Origin of Valkyrie line but wasn't released(image was shown at a toy show a few years back). Guessing it was planned then canned once sales didn't do well.
