  1. They revealed last year that they have the vintage mold. I hope to see it eventually, either as an exclusive this year or next, but better yet, a mass market release. With the Movie Night Raven already at the $39.99 pricepoint, I hope it sells well enough that big vehicles are brought back to mass market rather than being just exclusives. I'd love to pay just $40+tax for the original Night Raven, modified to fit 2 modern era figures, and the drone, for $40. Any of you thinking it is too big for that, well I don't think it is. Similarly sized aircraft toys sell for $25 at TRU. Also, for those into the IDW G.I. Joe comics, or are curious as to what they are like: G.I. Joe:Origins #1 Review G.I. Joe #2 Review

  5. It's there, used for more ordinance after air superiority is established, and stealth isn't priority.
  6. It can be folded in: Box back
  7. The Legends figure actually is an all new mold. Now if a Springer makes it to the mainline, I hold hope that it is all new and not a retool of Incinerator. The figure I am most impressed with so far is Human Alliance Bumblebee. Very cool.

  11. When Hasbro announced G.I. Joe:Resolute, they said that if Resolute is successful, that they have plans for a Transformers cartoon aimed at us older fans. Link here. I don't know if any of you know about Resolute, but it is a webisode series, animated by the team that does Avatar, and aimed at us. Characters will actually die, it's written by Warren Ellis, and the first trailer from SDCC last year showed Snake Eyes kill a few Cobra Troopers; 1 stabbed in the head, the other hit with a shuriken to the face, and the last killed after Snake Eyes did some CQB maneuvers, threw him to the ground, stabbed him with his wakizashi, and twisted the sword to finish him off. I imagine if a Transformers version is ever made, it'll be with more G1-esque characters than the movie, in both appearance and attitude.

  14. Tailfins do look better here but could still be better, silhouette from the top is cool. For the price, it should come with a stand, otherwise you are paying the same price for the VF-11B as the YF-19, and the VF-11B as seen in the pics is significantly smaller.
  15. Thats my main issue too, it's with the movie designers. To me, the toy is decent, but the original is far more realistic and sexier.
  16. See that's the thing though, it's accurate to the movie's reimagined design as opposed to the classic one. I personally prefer the original, that one is AWESOME. The new one is okay, not terrible but my main issue is with the design itself used in the movie as opposed to the toy. Why the designers thought that a boxy aircraft would be stealthy and futuristic over the original which had much better stealthy and futuristic qualities is beyond me Hasbro does have the vintage mold though, who knows, maybe it can be released as a Target exclusive or modern era release. Hell it could be repainted into the Sky Raven if they wanted to make more money back.
  17. Movie Toy Catalog & More! Night Raven looks better in these pics. Cock and load action is dated though. Thank goodness it didn't end up like the Thunderwing.
  18. Bot are very attractive actresses, I caught onto Sienna Miller when she was on Keen Eddy years back. She is hot. Both actresses may not look as hot in gijoe but they are beautiful women. He won't. Some of the lines that were given to her were stupid. She did alright in the movie but my main issue isn't so much with her as much as it is with the script. One would think that moving beyond a nostalgic, yet campy 80's cartoon would also mean moving beyond some of the most cliche' and stereotypical characters seen in movies. Yet unfortunately, TF1 was plagued with them. I hope the sequel is better(and I did like TF1 a great deal but it definitely could have been better). Looks wise, I think Sienna and Rachel are more attractive.
  19. It can be posed in more dynamic poses as well as being a fun toy to tinker with around the desk; basically taking the battroid as far as it can without having limitations/compromises in sculpt due to transformation mechanisms, et al. As much as I love the battroid sculpt of the v2 1/60, this GN-U figure has a more accurate battroid mode. Not to mention cheaper, however you get what you pay for, and in this case, it evens out. Pay more for transformation, pay less without it. It's no surprise that Yamato added the VF-1 to the line, it was inevitable.
  20. GN-U Dou VF-1J Hikaru Type Looks great, might rival the Revoltech version...
  21. Make sure to angle the swing bar. Pull back on the backplate, which dislodges the swing bar. Then simultaneously swing both hip parts forward/downward, this will pop the nose hatch open, then just push up/forward on the hip bar or legs and this will pop the bar out.
  22. No because they don't seem that small at all, anime accuracy/lineart/whathaveyou aside. The VF-11's tailfins look small on the toy, it was the primary thing that I wanted to see improved over the 1/72 version that was released 8 years ago(and which I liked everything else on sculpt wise except for the tailfins). To me they are "just right" in the anime; I don't really care for anime accuracy I go for what looks good, and bigger tailfins would look better, even if they were tiny in the anime(which they aren't). For you, but see with me, I love the way the VF-11 looks in non-armored fighter mode, so I don't want to have to put armor on it just to hide the fact that the fins are too small. Maybe it does look better in person or in updated pics, but the initial pics do not help.
