What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
You could wrap small shreds of paper around the joints and put the hip joints back in. The paper acts as a cusion providing more tension. I don't know if it will work but it did work on tightening up some of the ball joints on my 1/48 1S. -
Bandai VF100's Official Thread Ver.2
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Just in scale, nothing else. Never mind, in terms of the Fire Valk "making or breaking" this line, though, I would say they will probably sell better than the 25's, simply because it would be the only one in the market right now. This year is also the 15th anniversary of Macross 7, so here's to hoping for more Macross 7 goodies, including more VF100's and of course more DX toys too...NEW ones. -

Even sadder when Eric Siebenaler unveiled some of his original design sketches, showing the walking tank mode...for an ultra sized Galvatron, which was later abandoned when Galvatron was switched to a deluxe. Had it been an ultra like originally planned, I have a feeling that the transformation wouldn't have been a PITA, and that the robot mode would look a TON better. -
Poll: Is your v.2 1/60 VF-1S broken or perfect?
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to miriya's topic in Toys
Add me to the list of people with broken 1S Roy's, after months, after loosening the shoulders as soon as I got mine last fall, and bracing the hinges during posing, mine gave out, and I have been Yamatoed. The left shoulder hinge has a crack and it's cracked to the point where it's only held due to the bottom ring not cracking. $140 for this thing(srp+EMS & HLJ 10% discount), and now a broken hinge. I hope Overdrive gets the hinges with smaller diameter pins soon for replacements No I am not one of the guys that throws mine across the room to test the strength of the pins nor did I try to reinact the scene where Hikaru and Kamujin fought to a draw. Nor was I recreating Roy's death from DYRL or Hikaru's descent into earth during "force of arms". I handled mine a lot, it is a very, very durable toy except for those hinges. It is a highly playable collectors toy, it's disappointing that the hinges are the achilles heel of an otherwise sturdy toy. Yamato has been making strides towards higher durability, from the Destroids, to the relatively qc problem free SV-51 Nora and YF-21, both much more complicated designs than the v2 1/60 VF-1. -
25th Anniversary G.I. Joes, Wave II
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Mog's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The HOH and 5 pack version is much better. Chrome faceplate, goggles molded to the helmet and don't fall off, and corrected hands. Also.... G.I. Joe Resolute Premieres 4/25 On Adult Swim! -
That was due to them trying to make a toy from scratch though, with the valkyries the only new tooling would be the new heads for the Robotech Veritech releases. Also is the Macross Frontier lineup by Tamashii in the mix?

Delayed til when? Any word on the Strike, GPS-1, ELINT, or SUPER O?

No, no one is complaining because the fins are supposed to be short.

I actually didn't mind the colors, I didn't like the Henkei's colors, I actually preferred the Classic version's. The mold is just flawed in a lot of ways, very disappointing. Not to mention, it's obvious by the instructions that the forward landing gear was supposed to be much longer. The toy has neat things, like having the missle launcher usable in one direction as a launcher, the other as a gun(30mm A-10 gun). The sculpted detail is intricately applied, like the rivets, that's a neat aspect, but overall this is the worst ultra figure in the classics line(maybe Bruticus is worse, who knows, I don't intend to buy him so I wouldn't know). The best Ultras are Onslaught and Silverbolt. Sturdy, good alt modes, fully articulated robot modes able to balance well, and not compromised in the ways that Powerglide was. -

I didn't mind Powerglide being upsized it's the execution of the figure that killed it for me. He, Hot Shot, and Galvatron are the Classics figures I don't really recommend buying. He is unbalanced, the side intakes in jet mode near the nose DESTROY the look, and his huge shoulders/tiny arms in robot mode are not a good combination at all. -

Naw, triple changer ultra as Eric Siebenaler originally designed it to be. -

Eriku most certainly does not have greater tolerances for broken toys. -
Leonardo di Bonaventura, one of the producers, said that he and others were worried that the hooded look of Cobra Commander could be associated with the KKK. Almost NO ONE believes him. Hell I don't. I'm not trying to discredit the guy, but come on, when you see the hooded Cobra Commander, does he look like a Klansmen to you? To me he looks like some guy with a blue hood and a cobra symbol smacked onto the forehead. If they were that worried, and to reduce the amount of bitching while preserving brand recognition and the iconic look, as well as functionality and practicality, they should have just gone with the battle mask look.

It's easy you just pull them off. It's a disappointing figure. It is a huge improvement over the original figure but compared to it's Classics counterparts, it could have been so much better. It's a better figure than Classics Galvatron though. -

Eh....damn.. that sucks! To be honest the figure is disappointing to the point where I doubt the Henkei guns would have made me feel any better. Articulation is great but loose in the legs, hindered on the arms. You could cross the back kibble in certain ways, like making an "x", or turning each panel 180 and making an "x", this kills off the hindrance to articulation but it doesn't look good. The most straight forward way is to leave it as is in the instructions, and tilt the panels back from the top at an angle, but the buttom parts may interfere with arm articulation still. -

Yeah it was a good review man, it would be cool if you added pics. It sounds like it turned out well, I'm just waiting to hear if Hasbro will be bringing this sucker over, news of that is usually saved for Botcon which is in 2 months. If not, I'll import this sucker. -

Just picked up Ratchet and Hot Shot. Was debating waiting for the Henkei Hot Shot since it has the 2 guns, then decided not to because it would cost double or more, and I have the Energon Star Saber somewhere around here for him to use instead. Anyways Hot Shot has back kibble that hinders shoulder movement significantly, the instructions don't really show what to do with it. Jolt does not attach very securely. The leg articulation is good, but the swivels are loose. Overall the detail is good, and the toy looks a ton better then the original Hot Shot figure from Armada, and is much more articulated, However the chest cavity is hollow, and does not secure well to shoulder plates, and overall the kibble on the back is very annoying, has anyone found a way to get around this? Ratchet turned out very well, a retool of Ironhide, but does not suffer from cheap looking plastic. Wish the head could be positioned higher, the hinge definitely looks like it can go up further, but the transformation makes this difficult. -

Not at all. He was a designer on Diaclone toys, such as the F-15 that was eventually repainted as Starscream in Transformers, and did Powered Convoy, and maybe Battle Convoy too, which turned into Ultra Magnus and Optimus Prime in the TF line, Later he designed Hybrid Style Convoy and Masterpiece Starscream. During the design of the 1/55 VF-1, he did help out with the transformation mechanisms. -

Yes, I have the Iron Man repaint that's in War Machine colors, and Captain America. My Captain America has 2 right feet, I can overlook that, but the bad thing is, there is no way in hell to tell unless you transform him. Overall these blow away the SWTF's. Iron Man has flaws, like the shoulder articulation which makes poses look a bit weird, and his legs should have closer detents. Other than that he is one of the most stable Transformers I have bought in recent memory, and his transformation is impressive. Captain America is awesome but make sure to lock the shoulder connections into place, it's a hard fit but when done, the shoulders are secure and will hold any position, as the connections are detented(just make sure to push all the way into place before moving, if not the shoulders will wobble loosely). Articulation is great on Captain America but the knee joints should have been higher, he has double knees and the lower knee joints are too low. Other than that he is huge and stable. Textured chain mail looked cool too. I'm waiting for the brown Wolverine repaint(looks more balanced color wise), and will probably buy Venom and green Hulk. Also anticipating the combiner Iron Man and Spidey. Hope they repaint Thor in ultimate colors, or his current costume colors, as it would make the plane look more realistic, instead of off-putting like the current one. -

Yes but most have downright disappointing robot modes, and some even have bad vehicle modes too(X-Wing Skywalker). The best SWTF by far is the Death Star Vader. Every other figure is compromised in at least one way. The Marvel TF designers at Hasbro right now are doing a far better job on their Marvel Transformers.
