  1. I see. So did you file or sand down the pin before gluing? Glad to hear man, and thanks for the tip, I may try it this weekend.
  2. Alright, in battroid mode, the swing bar attached to the hip bar, is parallel to the back. When you pull on the back, the back will angle out, and the swing bar will be at an angle to the back, no longer parallel. At this point, swing both legs forward simultaneously, 90 degrees, and the nose hatch will pop open, and all you need to do is push up with the hip bar to get it out of the nose hatch. The key to this is making sure the swing bar is at an angle, if it is parallel, it is a pain in the ass to get the hip bar out of the nose hatch.
  3. Just to be safe, avoid everything that was released before the Max valks.
  4. I want a more affordable line of high quality, high accuracy, perfect variable toys that cost much less than $100. Maybe another stab at 1/72. Less flimsy features, no parts that would be flimsy to move at that scale, like airbrakes, flaps, et, al. Yamato's v2 1/60 VF-1 is more toyetic than the 1/48(shoulder hinges aside), and in my opinion, more pleasant to handle because of it. The removable nosecone/randome, moving flaps, airbrake, et al, were cool, but at a much smaller scale, might prove irritating. So for example, let's say a new pv VF-1, 1/72, instead of the triple missle clusters being individual missles that can be separated from the pylon, have the pylon and missles molded together. No functional airbrake, nosecone, flaps, et al. Emphasis on durability, without compromising looks and accuracy. This could be the VF100's killer. Besides, everyone here misses the days of being able to buy a PV valk for under $100.
  5. So did the glue dry around the pin, and bind the plastic to the pin? what I'm trying to figure out, is how would that prevent the hinge from cracking further?
  6. If you read his entire post, he said he got the image from jenius' blog. Yes there have been discrepencies with the VF-1A, more than one, the only one I know for sure of without problems are the new Max's, and the VF-1D. It most likely won't, the glue will probably go beyond the crack to around the screw, bonding the screw to plastic, then shearing off when the hinge is turned.
  7. Anything to worry about with shoulder hinges? Okay, I saw your youtube video. From what Yamato stated, I think there is supposed to be a detent that holds the lower half of the shield in place. For example, if you turned the toy upside down in battroid mode like you did in the video, then while upside down, pull the heatshield until it gets locked into place by a detent. Now if there is no detent to keep it there...ouch...
  8. EPIC L O L! Something I just thought of, is the foam attached pretty well? It would suck if you took the escape pod out, turned the toy upside down in fighter or battroid, and the foam fell out, then got vacuumed up on the carpet or floor.
  9. Pull on the back, not the backpack, but the back piece, the one that the swing wings are connected to, to angle the swing bar. Then simultaneously rotate both legs forward, this will pop the nose hatch open and you merely push up to get the hip bar out. Only takes a few seconds.
  10. I have a feeling that the cockpit has to be angled at a certain position to keep the heat shield halves together, a position that of course doesn't risk cracking the canopy.
  11. No, at least 1 member here found cracks on both shoulders. Most of the cracks from the VF-1A-onward were found a while later, most were not cracked right out of the box. It's another reason I think that hinge breakages on everything before the Max valks is just a matter of time.
  12. I actually expressed a desire for this earlier in the thread. Skull 1 just looks good in grey. Nice contrast with the traditional "hero" colors of Hikaru's VF-1J, and it's fitting for Roy's more grittier personally.
  13. Heh, the heads are easily removable, if Yamato included the A/D heads that would be cool.
  14. I don't mind Destro at all, and in fact, I like that Storm Shadow a great deal. I gave him the sword/scabbard from Snake Eyes(the one in the wave 6 training comic pack), and the figure has great range of motion, very fun to tinker with, and is the first 3-3/4" "armored" SS out there. Reminds me of Joe Musashi from Shinobi. The Firefly you mention is actually the movie Firefly, exclusive to TRU, unless you were looking at the comic pack, or Hall of Heroes version. The movie version is the closest to Resolute, just needs a brown vest instead of black. They did make Snake Eyes, we had it on our frontpage on Saturday morning, the question is whether it will be released or not.
  15. No word on future episodes. We have images up on our frontpage of Resolute figures that were slated to be released in waves 14 and 15. Since all of these made it as far as to having molds tooled up, and some were packaged, I think we might see some in the future, but at this point, I don't know. I really, really hope we get these though.
  16. Oh dear god...I may actually buy that one...will it be in grey? I know of all the TV differences except for the head...how does the TV VF-1S head differ from the DYRL? versions? Heh, how about the old Imai boxart as an homage?
  17. No you already said what you what have told me and you're not convinced. Repaints are easy money, that's the most logical thing about a Virgin Road release. Undoubtedly Yamato wanted to repaint the VF-1D eventually, and Virgin Road is a canon scheme and the only other VF-1D scheme shown in the series. I think it was only a matter of time. I think they are going to keep going until they have released every paint scheme shown in DYRL? and the TV series, then branch out into offscreen stuff, like lowviz. I think they will hold off on Angel birds for a while, because the 1/48 version is still readily available for cheap, and not exactly flying off of shelves. I predict the midnight blue VF-1A from the ARMD-1 carriers to be one of the next unveiled releases.
  18. A few reported hinge breakages. The only one pre-Max that does not have reported breakages is the VF-1D.
  19. Why would Yamato tool up all new pilots of Milia and Max in wedding attire if they aren't going to use them? That's a waste of money. Considering that Yamato: A-likes to sell repaints like any other company to recoup the costs of making the mold B-The VF-1D has yet to be repainted and this is ample opportunity to make a canon repaint that actually appeared in the show C-is releasing a ton of VF-1 variants in their 1/60 line that only had either a few appearances in DYRL? or the TV series, but appeared onscreen nonetheless D-is keeping up with their output of having consistent VF-1 releases. The guys who are excited are not naive at all. Yamato already started making obscure variants and fan favorites that made their appearance for the first time in this new 1/60 line. Virgin Road doesn't surprise me in the least. In this economy, repaints from any company are easy money. That's not illogical at all. It costs more to tool up all new molds than it does to just repaint an existing toy in different colors.
  20. I'm thinking the same thing. Even the head is colored differently.
  21. If you actually own the toys and have handled them you already know the answer to this. Thanks for the reply man. Yamato probably reduced the thickness of the bump to reduce tension when pushing the hinge over. I really hope the smaller pin works well, ideally, it sounds like it will.
  22. So do the shoulder hinges on your TV Max look and feel significantly different than the Roy 1S that you had?
  23. I think they have the MD7 license, and are trying to get the M7 license, possibly working out a deal with Bandai/Tamashii as to not overlap releases.
  24. If they make the fighter mode sleek, and keep the battroid chunky like in the anime then I'm all for it. To me it's not about the accuracy, it's moreso the fact that to me, the 19's look better with thicker battroid modes, the current 1/60 YF-19, Bandai's DX Fire Valkyrie and Yamato's 1/72 VF-19 resemble EVAS too me. I'd definitely want a Blazer valkyrie. Wings remind me of a YF-23, and the battroid mode rules.
  25. They also make a ninja in white, which resembles Storm Shadow
