Bandai VF100's Official Thread Ver.2
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I know I am in the minority, but I really want to see Tamashii tackle the VF-1 soon, minimal parts swapping. I think it can blow away Toynami's 1/100 versions, as mine both have cracks in their bicep swivels, and while I like the concept, the PRICE especially, and the sheer amount of stuff that they come with, Tamashii can do way better and I crave seeing what they can come up with. -
A more appropriate comparison is MP-03 Starscream compared to Yamato's 1/60 line of Valkyries. MP-03 Starscream in fighter mode is similar in size to the Macross Zero and Plus releases by Yamato in 1/60 scale. Takara has the benefit of owning the Transformers franchise alongside Hasbro, so they don't exactly have to buy the license to make a toy of character that they themselves own. In general, all Macross toys have been expensive, and people will of course compare Gundam and how it is cheaper, however the real issue could be that Sunrise charges a lot less for Gundam licensing than Big West charges for Macross licensing fees. Same might go for Evangelion, if Sunrise is the license grantor for it.

Nope, homages to the YF-19 Hasegawa kits custom painted in Model Graphix years ago.

No, darker, more off an off-white/light grey, as opposed to the bright white on the 1J.

So long as you move the hinge while the glue is drying, you won't have to worry about the glue drying with the pin. Moving the hinge while drying will prevent the pin from sticking to the hinge. What I did with mine was let the glue seep into the crack, and constantly move the hinge so that the glue wouldn't stick the pin to the hinge. The crack on the left shoulder was kind of wide, but the dried glue made a hard layer connecting both sides of the crack, so that it will most likely not crack further *crossing fingers*. I moved the shoulder without bracing the hinge after the glue dried, and the dried layer of glue didn't budge, and didn't look like it would. The crack on the right shoulder hinge was not cracked all the way, so chances are the glue will keep it from cracking further. This fix works best if the hinge is not cracked to the point where a piece of it is cracked off. After looking at mine closely, the burred end of the pin is definitely a contributing factor to the breakages, it's simply too wide for the hinge, and the hinge cracks under the stress. In theory the new fixed hinges with the smaller diameter pin should work well without breakages. I used Krazy glue, the one that is purple then turns clear when dry. Just make sure to move the hinges constantly while they are drying. I am much happier now, but am worried that my figure may still break at the hinges in the future. Crossing fingers, but it may turn out to be break-free in the future.

It's a space and atmospheric fighter, you can see it fly in both in Macross Plus.

Star Wars toys

Power in numbers, or the universal saying on all action figure forums, "IT'S STAR WARS NOTHING COMPARES TO STAR WARS"<(in reference to how the Star Wars toy line can have uber expensive items, obscure characters and many other things that normally wouldn't have a chance in hell in other lines) -
Yahoo Japan Auctions

Thanks for the heads up man, I appreciate it. I'll use a form of krazy glue, one of mine is purple and turns clear as it dries...if only I could find it. BTW, when you let the glue dry, what mode was the toy in? Was it in mid-transformation, battroid, or gerwalk? Which mode would you recommend to leave it in while the glue dries?

Speaking of X-wings, are any of you fans of Wedge Antilles? How about his X-wing? Ah the hell with it, how about his droid and some boarding ladders too, ALL in 1 box? CLICK HERE! -
Just don't try it on a ledge....oh man that would suck if it fell. Graham you're pretty brave when it comes to where you put your planes for photos, I was shocked when I saw the 11 on a flexi stand, on a ledge...literally "WHOA...." Glad it didn't fall! This toy is looking better and better, yes the fins look better but would be best if bigger. That was one of the worst things about the original toy from 8+ years ago.
-
So for now, are the hinges fixed on yours thanks to the cement>? If so, I'll definitely give the krazy glue a try.
-
Awesome thanks! Can you also ask if they tested out the new hinge so that they can confirm that the changes to the hinge will permanently decimate any chances of breakages? Also advice from them on preventing further cracks on pre-VF-1A/S Max toys would be appreciated too.

Hmmm, I wonder if there are new developments, BBTS and other etailers had the 1/55 pre-orders listed for delivery in April.
-
Uh yeah, because reading everything someone stated before making a response to them is part of using common sense, and no one knows what the hell you're getting at. If you apply the glue soon, let us know how it turns out.

Rise of Cobra NEW Trailer HD version will be available later today. -
I love the VFX2 scheme, reminds me of high viz 70's CAG birds from the USN.

I want pics in fighter mode WITH FAST packs AND tail fins out! I'm crazy like that, I think it looks cool.
-
You're the guy that assumed the wrong thing to begin with and yes I already knew that was Jenius sig, I didn't need to see that to know because I read the OP's initial post completely before responding to him.
-
Was the VFX-2 version in that BAD ASS color scheme ever shown with FAST packs? I'm trying to determine how much a VF-11B would cost without those things.
-
VERY glad to hear that the detent is there and that the shield works properly. The tailfins don't look so bad. I'd like to see more pics with those fins out, in super mode, canon be damned, I like the VF-11B with FAST packs on AND tailfins out. If the VFX-2 scheme is planned, and the skull emblems/designs can fit well on the fins, I may consider picking it up.
