  1. Admiral Toys held back on their F-4 after 21st announced theirs. 21st did have retailer backing, primarily from Walmart I believe, for the Phantom to be sold at $89.99, however Walmart pulled out, and a while later 21st wasn't doing very well. As a result of all this, Admiral Toys put their F-4 on the backburner, so I wouldn't say it's cancelled, they have said that they still have the prototype intact and the CAD designs, so it's all a matter of if and when they want to release it. With 21st out of their way and BBI not likely to make a 1/18 scale F-4, I think Admiral Toys will eventually do their F-4. The only retractable landing gear was going to be the nose gear, the rear landing gear were going to be swappable, as they wanted to keep a flush, accurate underside profile, they didn't want the wheel doors bulging out because of the wheels within. They also wanted to retain the fatness of the tires. Admiral Toys seems like more of an accuracy hound than both BBI and 21st. It would actually be a bit smaller. So all of these guys saying "it would be too big!" are exaggerating. We got a 3.5ft TOMCAT coming out. A VF-1 in 1/18 scale is not even big compared to that!
  2. No it means that it is on their list of best possible candidates to turn into toys. Short list meaning that it's a short number of things they have in mind, and one of those will be the next release.
  3. VF-4 is not next on 1/60 scale, and VF-0D is on the short list.
  4. Hopefully Kawamori will let them go with a anime-accurate colored VF-0A this time around too....I prefer the grey one with Wolfpack stickers, but I know some of you prefer the anime version, and I think it should be released sometime. Hopefully any future Macross Zero release has a smaller box of a new design, so that you can definitely tell it's from a later production run with all the fixes.
  5. I estimate that it will be between $150-200. The plane will be 3.5ft long.
  6. They aren't, VF-0D is on their short list, so they will probably release some Macross Zero toys in the meantime. Some of the Japanese etailers still have the SV-51's as well as VF-0A's with plenty in stock, Yamato is probably just waiting for the right moment to release another Macross Zero toy. My guess is that we will probably see a VF-0A with fixed arms later this year, in fall, if the A's on shelves in Japan right now start to become scarce in summer.
  7. No. 21st Century Toys announced that they were going to make a 1/18 F-4, right after Admiral Toys announced that they were going to make a 1/18 Phantom also. Both companies announced their plans on the very same day, 21st also said they were going to make 1/32 F-4's. 21st claimed that theirs would be $89.99 As some of you may know, 21st Century Toys then announced a B-24, and MIG-21. None of them went beyond words. 21st Century Toys wasn't performing that well, and just recently clearanced out whatever was left from their warehouses, so in recent months/weeks, you could buy some of their last offerings for dirt cheap. JSI used to manufacture toys for 21st, but they are not the same company as 21st. JSI was able to obtain some toolings from 21st century and will be releasing some under their banner, the 1st offerings being the Tiger, F4U and P-38, most likely followed by the Tomcat. The difference between the Tomcat and the aforementioned toys is that the Tomcat is all JSI. This is most likely the same company who will be making the 1/18 scale Black Knights Tomcat for Kawai toys in Japan, and also the same company revealed by Admiral Toys to be working on a F/A-18 and F-15 as well. So this company is only new in name, not new at all to 1/18 scale. I hope that the quality control and durability is better than 21st Century Toys' releases though. Admiral Toys still has their prototype and CAD sheets intact in case they decide to go forth with the Phantom. With 21st out of the way, and BBI most likely not making a 1/18 F-4, I think Admiral will release an F-4 between fall of this year and next, after their Dauntless and Skyraider are released.
  8. 1/72:VF-19A, VF-11B v1 1/60: VF-1A Hikaru 1/48: VF-1S Hikaru v2 1/60: VF-1S Roy Strike 1/100: VF-1J Max, VF-1A Max, FAST Pack set #1 1/55 Bandai: VF-1A Hikaru, VF-1J Hikaru, VF-1S Super Valkyrie 1/65: DX Fire Valkyrie 1/55 MPC: VF-1A Ben, VF-1J Rick, VF-1S Roy Out of all of these, I like my 1/55 Bandais, v2 1/60 Roy, and 1/48 more than the rest of what I have.
  9. If the missle boxes are attached to the toy with the missles/pylon inside, no matter how you move it, the missles/pylon within will rattle.
  10. I think it's possible depending on how big the fuselage aft of the canopy is, kind of like the VF-1D was compared to the A/J/S toys in the v2 1/60 series.
  11. Agreed with these guys
  12. The fact that you yourself resorted to flaming? Okay I can agree with that. I don't think whatever went to PM is supposed to be discussed publicly. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ This. I'd love to see a VF-11D toy, the most unique VF-11 variant.
  13. David, since you are a member of TFW2005, your user id/password should work over at ToyArk(depending on when you signed up at TFW). I'll attach the image here:
  14. Click here! This is likely the same company who was making the VF-154 Black Knights Tomcat for Kawai Toys, but has been very very quiet up until now. This company used to manufacture toys for 21st Century Toys, so they are new only in name, not experience. I could care less for the inaccuracies, this looks awesome and I will buy it. Note that the color scheme shown is just tentative and not final at all.
  15. If the movie did without cliche' humor that you can see coming from a mile away, it would be a lot better off. For example, I liked Bernie Mac's part in TF1 but hated how corny John Turturro's character was, and it looks like it's not any different in ROTF. Humor is to be expected, but if cut down and not cliche, is not as bad.
  16. Is it just as, if not more than, durable than the 1/48 VF-1?
  17. VF-25 Alto/Ozma are significantly cheaper than the SV-51's, VF-0's, YF19's.
  18. Wait so you accused me of flaming, yet you're response is what now? I doubt it is, I'm really hoping isn't a one time deal. I think Bandai will eventually make DX versions of the VF-17, Fire Valkyrie, Blazer Valkyrie, VF-171 and VF-27, leaving Yamato to concentrate on the Macross 7/VFX-2/M3 versions of the VF-22 and VF-11. The VF-11 can be released in many ways, with heavy armor, Jamming birds VF-11D variant, VF-11MAXL, Max/Milia M3 colors, VF-11C, VFX-2 Ravens, et al. VF-22 can be repainted into Max/Milia colors as well as the blue/white VFX-2.
  19. Saga? Wow never knew you saw it that way. Then again, being that things tend to be blown out of epic proportions here, I shouldn't be surprised. Didn't need research to know that, I've been here long enough to witness it. I'd really like to see a YF-19 in white with blue trim, dead on to the Model Graphix Hasegawa customs.
  20. The John Woo-esque part is only in the beginning when Zero starts firing at people. There are other over the top parts, like Gambit's 40 ft leap over an explosion of his own making, but that I would just say isn't as John Woo-esque as the gun intro of Zero.
  21. The latter is most likely the case. I think we will hear something next week from the Shizuouka Hobby Show. I think the deal would be for specific designs and all related variants. For example, whoever's got the Fire Valkyrie license can make a VF-19P, and VF-19F/S Blazer Valkyries. The VF-19A is nearly identical save for paint to the YF-19, so I can see Yamato doing that eventually. I can also see them releasing VFX-2 and Macross 7 versions of the VF-11C & VF-22. VF-11 including the D model Jamming birds version. Meanwhile, I can see Bandai making the VF-171 DX, then making a VF100's VF-17 to test the waters, and then making a VF-17 DX if there is enough demand. I can also see them introducing Destroids in the VF100's line, going by a similar name, like Destoy100's, including all SDF Macross Detroids, including the original Monster, then enemy mecha. This still leaves Yamato open to make enemy mecha and further destroids in 1/60 scale. So in this scenario, neither company overlaps.
  22. Saw it, loved, it, no complaints. I thought it was great. The bar for summer movies has been raised in my opinion, I think ROTF could surpass it, but unlike Trek, it is likely to have ill-timed, cliche humor, and the broken 180-rule camera angles. I do hope sequels are planned, I loved this new Trek. I'm a casual Trek fan, I found the original to be too campy, and watched TNG as a child since it was on almost everyday. So I'm not very knowledgeable on Trek, but this movie had me excited since the first trailer last summer, and it did not disappoint.
  23. I don't either but there are some cases, specifically the v2 1/60 VF-1 shoulder hinge, that left me scratching my head.
