Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.6
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
No, I don't think anyone does, I don't even do anything like that with my 1/55's. All I did with my 25S was try to pose it in dynamic poses, photo worthy shots. Yet over time the right shoulder got loose(goodbye 1 hand gun pose), the SMS markings on the shoulders have started to wear away(surprised me), and the LERX's are getting scratches, meanwhile the chestplate(middle part) has been scratched up a lot during transformation. I handle my toys quite often but I must add, I don't bash them into each other or do anything that would remotely risk scratching the paint. I've had paint scratches on Yamato and Bandai releases, with Yamato my VF-19A is scratched up badly on the legs, my 1/60 VF-1 has a lot of flaked off paint on the legs, meanwhile my v2 1/60 VF-1's are fine aside from the tailfins because of that damn bump aft of the airbrake coming into contact after mounting the FAST pack boosters. The fact that Bandai painted all of the markings onto the DX is wonderful, they just need a strong sealant to keep all the beauty of those markings contained. -
The tailfins reminds me of that Whale hunter VF-1 from one of the Macross 7 OVA's

5,000 for low viz. I don't think Yamato is going to take another stab at the 1/48. Why would they need ver 2 materials? They are made out of the same materials basically. For the 1/48, the only things to really improve would be to give it the double elbow joints from the v2 1/60, arms that don't go below the legs in fighter mode, pegs for the hands to clip the gun on better, bigger hands, slimmer legs, a more durable BP-8, the simpler FAST pack booster connection, et al. Yet why pay more for that when you can get all of that on the V2 1/60 version? I think chances are higher that Yamato designs an all new fuselage component with a longer nose that's collapsible in battroid mode for the v2 1/60. This eliminates the priest collar, and gives it the long nose that the 1/48 has in fighter mode. Being that the front fuselage component is removable to begin with, the idea isn't too far fetched. Though honestly. the shorter nose and priest collar aren't even remotely big deals for me.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH! I completely read what you typed earlier man, I get what you're saying now and I agree. Same here. I was pretty surprised when I got to handle it. I love the paint finish and durability, I think they should keep the gloss plastic, whatever hard grade of plastic it is that they are using, and diecast. What they need is some super sealant to make sure those damn paint apps don't scrape off during regular handling and more of what we'd expect from them. After watching video reviews of some SOC figures, especially GX-45 Mazinger, I definitely knew that Bandai could have made a much better DX VF-25. Here's to hoping we see a 2.0 by next summer. -

CMS, the same company that made the Legioss/Tread set? Eh...having had that set...not sure if their take would have been better, maybe in some areas but most likely worse in others.. What I want is something that strikes me as an SOC equivalent Macross toy. A stand that has spots to store all of the accessories and option parts. Articulation and joints that can be hidden like on the GX-45 Mazinger. Unhindered range of motion. Joints that aren't prone to looseness. So far we don't have a VF-25 toy like that but I hope we get one. -

think it looks good, I just hate how easily the paint chips and as you mentioned, how the joints get loose quick. Happened to the right shoulder on my 25S. I'm one of the guys that prefers ratcheted/detented joints rather than ball joints. I didn't even like the ball jointed shoulders of the 1/48 VF-1, they were more prone to looseness than the 1st 1/60 VF-1 toys. Thankfully, on the V2 the shoulders aren't as prone to looseness as the 1/48. I also don't like how the shoulder armor has to move in unison for the most part, with the shoulder. It looks ugly. I also don't like how the hips/intakes are placed higher on the DX than on the model/anime, and this complaint of mine has nothing to do with anime-accuracy. I got tired of the hip placement because the paint from the LERX's is very prone to chipping and the LERX's just got in the way of leg posing to begin with. Speaking of poseability, the DX could have definitely used a thigh swivel and higher range of motion at each leg joint. I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai released a V2 DX VF-25 next year after Spring which addresses most of the concerns voiced. The current DX is a decent toy but could have been much better. -

Once I saw the VF-1J in a pose reminiscent of the end pose from the Macross OP, I was sold. With these upcoming Revoltech valks I have no desire for the Yamato GN U Dou VF-1's and Toynami 1/100's.

Definitely getting that pack and the Krayt pack eventually. The Luke figure reminds me of that guy from the Cobra Kai dojo that got beat by Daniel san at the end of the 1st Karate Kid movie. -
I looked at it years later as a rehashed DYRL? that took place 80 years later. It was enjoyable for the mecha porn, and music, definitely action packed, but very light on story. I liked most of the mecha designs, though to this day, I still find the VF-2SS fighter mode to be kind of weird.

Another reason why G1 Jetfire is one of the best Transformers ever made. I found it cool that Classics Jetfire was a triple homage to the G1 Jetfire toy, G1 cartoon Skyfire, and Jet Silver from the Braves line. -
Poll: Is your v.2 1/60 VF-1S broken or perfect?

CF has the un-knurled hinges, and the upcoming Strike Hikaru 1S with flashlight should be okay too. Basically anything that came out after Max is okay, the Max versions were the 1st to have no knurling on the pins -

Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks to me that you might be able to keep the head lasers and fin on in fighter mode, if the shoulder flaps are just moved upwards. It ruins the look in fighter mode to some but I don't really care so long as I have less parts to worry about with regards to swapping. -

Well it looks bigger in fighter mode, like there is a lump underneath the plane. I haven't seen it in person, just studied the packaging image. I do have the voyager versions from both movies though. It's awesome but the missle is ridiculously huge -

ROTF LEADER Starscream Packaging Image The underside is bigger than the ROTF voyager but not as bad as the TF1. Robot mode is the best so far, wish the canopy was a more accurate shape but other than that, I like this version a great deal. Definitely the best movie Starscream so far -

F-16IN Super Viper Read elsewhere that the new Viper can supercruise...eh....anyone think it can do so with all those weapons mounted on it in the promo image? -

Yes, I think the smaller jet fills in the gap on the wings of Mindwipe in fighter mode, kind of like becoming flaps. -

I don't think they combine in robot mode. -
