  1. Are the stands prone too looseness under the 1/60's?
  2. Yep that area. It cracked some of the peg on my VF-1A Super Hikaru last year. Alternatively, you can try dislodging or pulling the pegs out from the diecast plate by just pulling straight down a bit. Sometimes it's enough to get the peg out. Depending on how tight the valk is, this can work(usually on the tighter releases). On my Roy 1S however, and Max 1A, I can simply bend the lower legs inwards a bit to get the peg out.
  3. What I do is take the missles off of the pylon, as the pylon cannot rotate far enough with the missles on. Then I rotate the panels outward all the way before taking off. No breakages so far.
  4. Hey VF-18S, what do you think of those stands? The valks look great on them..wondering if the joints will loosen over time on the stand.
  5. You can't go wrong with Roy's VF-1S. The TV hands are made of PVC and come only with the VF-1J Max/Hikaru/Milia. I don't like the TV hands on the 1/48's due to the pegs feeling too soft and somewhat fragile. No breakage on my VF-1J Hikky but for example, the TV hands on the V2 1/60 VF-1J are much more durable/firm in comparison. Transformation is more user friendly on the 1/48 but overall solidity, range of motion, and articulation is better on the V2 1/60. Also, while the joints on the V2 1/60 do not feel prone to looseness in the future, on the 1/48, the ball joints can loosen over time, especially the shoulders. This happened to my 1/48 VF-1S. Also, if the rubber in the hip joints starts to wear down, looseness can occur. My Hikky 1J had a loose hip right out of the box due to the rubber cup being too big or malformed. The 1/48 is a solid toy and very easy to transform. It is far more durable than anyone gave it credit for years back. Just make sure not to push the BP8 backpack hinge piece too far up, DO NOT push it past the stopper as it will crack off. If you have ever played with Transformers Alternators, it's way more durable and easier to transform than those.
  6. Without a doubt, YES. There is nothing like them currently in print.
  7. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/other-news-20/tokyo-toy-show-2010-exclusive-transformers-repaints-revealed-170016/ G2 paint schemes on Mindwipe/Skystalker
  8. To prevent peg breakages like this, it might help to scrape some of the paint off of the diecast piece that the peg plugs into. I've found that this is the source of tension for that peg.
  9. The VF-19P looks BAD ASS, dig the head sculpt. I have not seen Dynamite 7 yet, so is it armed with a speaker pod or with a cannon like the VF-19A/F/S? Also, is it just used by Planet Zola, or UN Spacy too, and in what numbers? Is it limited production?
  10. Interesting...that's how the "Prime" name was used in Transformers Animated too; looks like WFC is paying homage to the classic series and recent lines.

  12. Wait so in RID firetrucknotmunky prime is G1 Prime?
  13. 24th or 26th, and I'm with you on the VF-1, the more VF-1 the better for me! I'm the kind of guy that doesn't mind seeing more RX-78's either.
  14. Haha yea. Maybe it's big for them, I remember playing the old Flanker sim from the mid 90's and it seemed like HOTAS would be a god send for a Flanker. The sim depicted a B model though, I'm sure the MKI with French avionics is more akin to US fighters. Russian aircraft have great aerodynamic qualities but situational awareness seems much much better on US aircraft. Wonder if India's assistance will extend the service life of the aircraft. From what I read in the Red Eagles book, the Red Eagles didn't think much of the way Russian planes were put together.
  15. I was thinking of Syd Mead'ing Peg and giving him the lunar crest...WHITE MUSTACHE GUNDAM FOR THE WIN! TURN PEG TURN, TURN PEG TURN....
  16. I think that's the same one that gave birth to 2 live drones on camera.
  17. I'm still wondering if he died or was alive after his VF-0 crumbled. Dead or alive, I still want his VF-0D!
  18. I don't think it would matter if the balance was broken, they never made anything to counter their 1/48 VF-1's or V2 1/60 VF-1's, unless you count the old Qraus but even then there were only 2.
  19. I want a VF-17/171 one in addition to those. Anyone catch how many VF-19F's were made compared to the A model?
  20. It's because licenses in Japan are sometimes per scale, and currently Yamato has the license for VF-1's in 1/60 scale. When that license expires, Bandai can obtain it, but it seems like they are more content with the smaller, 1/100 VF HI METAL route.
  21. I didn't think Shin was that bad. He just seemed more reserved than other Macross protagonists. Reminds me, it's 2010 and still no VF-0D. I know it'd be expensive but I would still buy one. That's a VERY unique valk design. For a design derivative of a design derived from the VF-1(VF-0) it looks very unique. Maybe it's just me but I was thinking that Yamato's rerelease of the VF-0A/S this year was to warm fans up to more Macross Zero merchandise later this year, like an upcoming 1/60 VF-0D.
  22. I wouldn't mind seeing one but since we are talking Shin, I'd LOVE to see his VF-0D. More heroic looking IMHO than his VF-0A.
  23. Anyone think some of the CG modelers who worked on the VF-19 CGI models in the Master Files book worked in coordination with Yamato? Yamato and Tamashii are listed at the end of the book. If the 1/60 VF-19F/S look anything like what is pictured, it will be awesome. *I am aware that maybe Yamato and Tamashii are listed just for overall supervision but it would be cool if the CGI models are a preview of what's to come toy-wise*
  24. I think Renato was the only one who knew for sure. The page on Tamashii's site makes no mention of the inclusion of the stand but the magazine Renato read, did.
  25. Nah the Shin version has lighter gray trim and has white trim on the chestplate; never sold solo only bundled with a ghost drone. No word on a rerelease yet.
