i doubt that man. Convoy has a rich history in japan and many many descendants rather than jsut some alternate universe final fantasy storyline thing where theres always a differernt prime and megatron like hasbro is doing right now. to me japan and us transformers history is very confusing but we cant just say japans story is like our robotech. alot of pivotal things happened in japan that never made it here. the convept of god ginrai as a human powered robot to starsaber the autobot swordsman, dezarus and a lot of others like big convoy and star convoy. if you follow the us storyline prime in g1 ended up as a action master. in japan he just died and died till he became star convoy. in g2 here prime ended up as either laser rod or that small as gobot car. you decide. in japan im not sure but if they did integrate g2 he was laser prime. in the us big convoy and lio convoy dont even exist. in japan they do. in japan theres a lot more like ultra magnus being killed by sixshot, anda bunch of other stuff that would do good for another thread. case in point, japan's storyline as a whole is MUCH deeper if not complex. its kind of like how macross in japan evolved into so many sequels and prequels where as robotech just went to sentinels. transformers USA storyline is like robotech. transformers in japan is like macross. in robotech they lead u to believe rick is on some spaceship and the alpha is the greatest thing since butter on bread. in macross hes somewhere with qa VF-4 and much more advanced stuff is out. in the US prime in g1 ended up as laser rod? who knows but right now theres energon prime. IN japan energon prime is just the latest prime to combat the decepticons and g1 convoy ended up as either star convoy and then laser rod or stayed as star convoy. in between him dying and getting revived god ginrai and star saber rise to become leaders and a whole bunch of other differn transformers show up that never made it here. also after primal in japan come lio and big convoy and magmatron and bw2 galvatron. Yet NONE of this is in the USA version of transformers as a whole. So i think your analogy is off. transformers in the states is like robotech NOT transformers in japan.

playability wise. cant help but play with somehing so detailed. which is why i play the hell out of my 1/48. when i hear someone say "oh gotd its fragile i just transfdorm it and leave it there uh oh ehart attack time oh phew it folded right" it only aggrevates me to whip it out and put it through rough play to prove the naysayers wrong. holy crap that didnt sound right at all. but yea i play with my toys. IM mainly speaking of the later master grades with ABS internal frames and such. I got msia but i want something more detailed and there are only 4 arch enemies. i need more.

but takara is still the one whom transformers the toyline stems from. transformers was a toyline before it ever was a cartoon. so while the idea for the STORY was made in america the toyline and characters some of whjich already had established names. also some of the later convoys in japan were never considered as primes. The japanese did a lot with transformers as well and believe it or not this was NOT the first time hasbro and takara worked together. their work as a team dates back to henshin cyborg and gijoe to microman and other stuff. If you go by japanese timeline he is convoy. if you go strictly by US he is prime. if your a fan olike me who likes both countries effforts to make it a cool brand, it dont matter. iits just a name hes known as convoy in japan and optimus here. its not like robotech where rick was a name given to hikaru. in macross he is hikaru. in japan convoy is convoy. even when transformers came bam still convoy. beast wars neo? big convoy. convoys as a group in seats bam convoy council. japan created the original toy that lead to optimus prime in the USA so for all that matters he can keep his original name, convoy. just kuz they dont call him convoy here dont mean they cant call hinm that in japan.

guys. SInce somemastergrades come with an ABS internal frame, could you say they could be handeled as rough or perhaps rougher as a 1.48? All my high grades broke but none of my TOYS have. But master grades seem real appeakling and knowing how tough ABS is, i couldnt help but wonder.

hasbro says no other masterpieces planned at thgis time. its kind of olf though.......they reaffirmed it last week but last summer someone asked orson about ammasterpiece megs and he said it wasnt happeneing. he didnt say anything about an alternator megs not happening though.........

defnitely dude. Id even go as far to say that ace combat might b more realistic. I mena at least in ace combat u can survive missle hits SOMETIMES. in jetfire one hit and its over EJECT. lock on has better lflight and avionics models. Jetfire is real arcadey. to the point where well i forgot but i just know it was hard to get a guns kill in jetfire surprisingly and the flighjt models were out of wack.

I read this at the aeug.blogspot thing. MAcross 0 got the best OVA award at the tokyo international anime fair! So I take it its gotta be doing reasonably well. I mean gundam seed got best animation series tv for the year and macross 0 got best OVA...its gotta be good to hear!

Yet in japaneven in trasnformers he is called convoy the character....not PRIME. I dont know about the mecha thing even if he is sentient hes still a freakin robot. HE is mechanized so i got no beef calling him a mecha. same as the ghost drone thats a mecha yet no pilot. oh and in diaclone magnus was powered convoy, a souped up version of the original convoy with blue paint and a powersuit. optimus prime the character was based on the diaclone convoy toy who became optimus prime in thr atransformers in the US and still REMAINED named convoy in transformers in japan. powered convoy got repainted for transformers as ultra magnus.

lock on is more hardcore. jetfire is very generic with similar flight models for each plane and one hit automatic kill gameply. kind of annnoying.

I think the cobra would only work if the US pilot was stuipid enough to go full burner at the flanker assuming the flanker pilot hjas no idea hes behind. With that in mind I am sure the flanker plays heavily in ACM practice with our military. Last I heard and read, Russian air crews and the forces they train in other countries are HEAVILY dependant on GCI. This is the reason German F-4 squadrons were able to take on german mig 29 pilots with a higher mock kill ratio after reunification....mig crews were far too reliant on GCI. Flanker is dependant on GCI or at least was I ma not sure if it still is. The cobra can be deadly provided the pilot taking on the flanker aint an idiot going full burner on the flanker when its on the flankers 6.

heat seekers take a lot less time to lock on. with that said it wont take as long. i amguessing after the initial pass the flanker could cobra 180 degrees and using the helmet sight in coordination withn off boresight targeting could fire at the target before the manuever is even done. that sthe best way i believe.

how the hell is rodimus nicer then the macross plus toys? those are ADULT toys and though bvilly wong isnt really as respected as flex nishikawa nor as skilled, those toys he sculpted were a GOOD first attempt at attempting to create something to hard to create in toy form and still remain PERFECT variable. not to mention they conceal the fact that they transform much better than rodimus. I llike that rodimus figure and its price but comparing it to the macross plus toys is like comparing a diaper to 24 yr olds boxers.

hey fortmax. as a resident MWer and 2005 dude i can say for certain you NEED a 1/48 now. none fo the flaws like joint looseness and loose as hell hips and landing gear are present on the 1.48 not to mention its perfect variable. sure it lacks some diecast but its the BEST valk toy. I got my MPCs, my reissue, and 1`/48 in apartment with jhetgire and 1/60 at home. I can say for certain I enjoy my 1/48 a lot more AND play with it MORE than the rest. trust me dude its THAT much better. the 1/60 i dont play with its too loose and reminds me of broken in g1 transformers. THAT loose. no its not a bad copy everyones is like this. So yea dude if you got the money(assuming you do since u scored all them proto energon toys on ebay and gave us the scoop on them ) then get the 1/48. you'll probably end up just displaying your 1/60 and playing way more with the 1./48 like i did.

I did hear that the US did aqquire 2 SU-27s from a country that russia was exporting too. When they were still in the cargo planes, the US bought them from that country. ITs in the magazines I believe. All I heard is that the US bouight 2. I have no idea if the US was able to fly them or not. David back me up if you know about this too. Ewilen that is an AWESOME site. if anything if a war started I believe russia would try to take out the carriers first. That way they have seapower and coastal defense would be down. Possibly a mass strike with numerous blackjacks launching kitchen and other ASMs, with low flying flankers flying fast and ambushing fightesrs after being catapulted. (SU33) I can see numerous SU-34 platypuis being used to supplement the bombers and being that superhornets will defend the fleet in the future, the higherups having a hard time dealing with the fact that thee hornet aint no F-14(HAD to add that in ) SU-33s got canards so their AOA manueverability in the high AOA zone has to be better. with that in mind, not only will pilots have a hard time intercepting all the ASM,s they will havea hard time dogfighting the flankers as well. Su-33 is the kuznetsov and other russian carriers main frontline fleet defense and being that budget is low and russian carriers dont carry as much aircraft, wiping out the flanker fleet would definitely leave the kuznetsov open to air attacks. I belive they only carry one swquadron of SU-33s. So as long as they can be wiped out hard and fast after the bombers, I believe the naval carrier war would be towards the US favor. god this naval and flanker talk reminds me of that USNF game.
