me confused somone please answer this! with armor off, on teh TV valks 1/48 is the gunpod still hard to attach to the arm or is this an armor only problem? If this is armor only i could care less.

as promised earlier, my rough quick concept design of alternator skyfire for fun I was pondering this for quite some time. Since hasbro hasn't showed us any planes and since I got tired of waiting, I went ahead and designed an alternator skyfire for fun. Now most of us remember jetfire the toy was based on a macross mold. But when we were kids some of us thought he was an F-14. It doesn't help that a VF-1 resembles the F-14. SO with that in mind nonetheless it was an awesome toy. Add to the fact that the F-14 is my all time favorite plane even before I got into anime. Not to mention the license for making a toy on an F-14 wouild be easy to get from northrop grumman. So with that in mind, I went ahead and designed this. It is a quick concept. Took a while to CG. The sketch was done last night and the airbrushing in photoshop done today. I kept elements of the cartoon skyfire. Transformation is already thought out and I described the engine to leg transformation for the lower leg on the top right. I will have detailed transformation soon. In the mean time I just wanted everyone to see what I had so far. nonetheless a way more detailed and better drawing will make its way here once I got some finals out the way. And yes I already have it in my head planned out and it works. Alternate mode is F-14B super tomcat GE-F110 FDE(Fighter Derivative Engine) testbed. (F-14D and it's prototypes are also known as super tomcats). That plane's color scheme has red white and blue and those were the colors on g1 skyfire so I kept that in mind when designing this. IF a alternator sky or jetfire IS made I suspect hasbro would indeed make him an F-14. I mean heck the original toy resembled one AND it's an easy license to procure compared to the F-15. The gunpod is a TARPS pod(tacticol air recon pod system) used for recon on F-14s. added on is the LANTIRN targetting system and a phoenix missle. SO yes. Remember how skyfire got his tail whupped a couple times in g1 and died and came back in a few episodes? Well NOT anymore! this baby's packing some serious heat! ENJOY!

I'm sure yamato got some interest in these boards. BUt I wouldn't go as far to say they make major decisions regarding what they will do according to what we whine or bitch about. IN fact I think they ignore bitchy comments and just read what they think might be useful. I never thought they had a major presence nor payed much attention to these boards. Maybe some feedback and the like but I don't think they are influenced by this board as much as people like to think. I mean it's kind of like how on transformers boards a lot of people bitch about hasbro and changes come slowly and hasbro still remains. Its the same with yamato. Regardless of all the whining they will keep going. They are dictated by money not by what we say. AS much as I would like to think I do not think we are really that much of an influence to them. AS sales statistics yes but in terms of using this board as a heavy influential tool? I doubt it. Lots of people bitched about the 1/100 VF-0 on these boards and the japanese BBS imode translated and yet that product is not ccancelled. It is still coming out. MAybe we got a slight influence but not much. I don't think it is a case of yamato throwing us to the side, I think we were on the side the whole time. Of course that is just my opinion. If the monster was 100$ I wouldn;t be surprised. Even at 1/100 scale being a foot long in shuttle mode, this thing is pretty big. NOt astronomically huge, but big compared to what yamato usually makes.(1/60/72 valks).

Guys! Right now I am working on an alternators SKYFIre/Jetfire design of my own and will post it here soon! Airbrushing in photoshop right now. LIke I mentioned long ago, my design is based on an F-14B test bed.The supertomcat proto outfitted with GE-110 FDE(Fighter Derivative ENgines). It was drawn fairly quick just to show everyone an idea. I have the transformation planned out and will upload that detailed when I get done drawing it out. So far the transformation is simple nad of course since it is done quick it won't b ultra panel lined detailed right now. Just showing everyone an idea of what I have thought up. The meister proto looks very sweet! I saw a gallery of it earlier and the removable visor*(hopefully clear in the final) is a very nice touch!

@toyboxdx i read that these are all for the anniversary. others in the figure line coming up will be guyver 1 qand some zoinoids. I think the hairy puff one that killed sho in the first OVA series is being made.

bu bandai visual is the one who has rights to macross 0 i think. ewilen, the bandai gundam reissues were on hlj. I think they had lgaim as well. I barely noticed them. anyways i have a feeling the dude at F/s was talking about getting a cease and decist letter long ago and maybe just brought it up now. I dont think tam kev or joel got one otherwise they wouold have posted here right away.

i think they are just using a smaller scale to give something everyone can afford while making a bigger perfect variable later like everyone assumes. with the 1/48 it wsold well but yes its pricey. with the 1/60 i costed lss but still pricey. with the 1/100 not too pricey. with the bigger peerfect variables, nice and pricey. kind of mirrors the 1/60 and 1/48 with the exeption of the 1/100 being cheaper by more.

well a conversion kit with multiple swap armors would be real nice. that way they have one box with a skeleton and 3 armor sets for 3 different destroids, THEN when the monster comes out, bam tyou get all 4 destroids from the original series! PLus being that the japanese and many of our board members like customizing, perhaps they can make a limited edition bone white conversion kit set, unpainted metal skeleton and white armor parts! for customizing!

my money is on more obscure valks and macross 7 stuff once bandai doesnt renew their license. Since destroids don't transform and don't have a lot of articulation joints like valkyries need, I think yamato could pull them off in good cold DIECAST and ABS form. I mean since it dont transform, theres not many joints that will weear down because of metal as long as it is placed strategically. for example take the phalanx and spartan. diecast could be in the lower legs and chest. the arms could be ABS with no metal. This way both destroids are firmly planted due to the weight in the legs and chest, and the arms can be posed doing YMCA poses because there is nothing wearing them down. I only hope they make a metal skeleton witih swappable destroid conversion armor like the takatoku conversion kit. that looked cool.

very true. There is at least 4 VF-0 variants they can exploit aside from roy's. Hopefully kawamori lets them do some VFERR paint schemes and remolds too. Hell if they are going to make a smaller line mineswell fill it up with a lot of releases right? I would not mind the drones on the VF-0 since they look like finnd booster FAST pack parts. I want to see more obscure stuff especially the VF-3000. now that is a beautiful design. If they make macross 7 toys, I hope they make a VF-17 and VF19S blazer valkyrie. Yea I know it's got small wings but the IHP kit of that looked awesome for some reason. once bandai doen't renew their macross 7 license I am sure yamato would take the oppurtunity to nab it and make some kick ass toys. Bout time someone did the fire nad stealth valkyries some justice!(bandai dx ones are ok but yamato owns them in detail)

I'd rather see angel birds or max TV VF-1A as the next limited edition if there is one.

why them? They let RT.com sell their DVD's so I don't really figure how they could affect this. If anything bandai. Bandai has a lot of power and HG wouldn't stand a chance to them.

i jsut never let anyone handle my important stuff. I never let anyone even try to transform the 1.48. If so I bet BP8 would break, and they would get the head jammed as long as the heatshield falling off. With me this don't happen but I get paranoid thinking about my friends transforming it.I'm a big dude so they know not to mes with my stuff unless they want to be thrown out the window.

HEH. APU thats because RT.com will ban your ass if you mention a toy other than a toynami toy. How can you say for sure they like the MPC better? YOu just admitted that you don't play with your toys so obviously you don't know as much about the problems we have. I for one play with all my stuff. I know the ins and outs and the weaknesses. And we never said everyone HAD to like yamato. Dude that whole diss "toynami bandwagon with HG" died out here like 2 years ago. Like i said some people like the MPC, some hate it for legitimate reasons, and some like the 1/48 wait a lot like the 1/48 better. Some of those members at RT.com are not well informed about the 1/48. After all with some of their administrative people dissing this site, they probably feel that this site is bad and should be avoided and the yamatos are the devil or something. I remember a while back when a bunch of members got banned for just mentioning how one other companies product happened to be miles btter than a toynami product. anyhoo. I think we won't know for sure what the hell is going on till exo visits that one dude at frank and sons or we get some other form of confirmation somehow else.

BTW the VF-0 is primitive compared to VF-1. It's airframe isn't as aerodynamic and wouldn't be as fast. It has more drag. Not to mention teh VF-1 has missles with folding fins, a iINTERNAL heat shield, smaller size and better thrust to weight ratios, and other things. Vf-0 may look more advanced at first but it really isn't.

ok this is jumnl;ed up. you keep insisting that without an anime there is no new product. there are numerous toylines without any basis to support them other then the fact that the¥ are good toys. it seems that you think once macross 0 is over its done yamato aint got nothing more to produce. you keep thinking that nad i'll stick to my opinion. i dont think yamato will stop. if the¥ had that mentality they would have left the HCM as the best valk toys and never bothered making any VF-1 toys at all. pwah oh well. i too could see some DYRL special edition stuff this year too.
