gamestop close by got some MPCs that noone bought from other stores and revcently discounted the hell out of the,m. List was 19.99 but was markled down 50% so i got my skul 1 MIB for 10$!!!! so if u want the alpha for cheap do the following wait 2 months to a year after release. after 2 months the etailers are permitted to lower price. remember the cost to make an MPC is 55$ but the markup is due to rt.com's monopoly scope out tam or kev or BBTS and i think after 2 months something will go ondiscount like last year. Popular releases will take a while but i expect the green one to be the ben of the line. with that in mind, also check out gamestops/. they mark down at least 20$ off at first and in the months after will go as low as 10$. this is rare but most of the time prices average for low price is 30$

with no SV-51 or even a VF-0A shown(all that would need is a different head) I dont tink yamato is waiting for a fishhook. I think they jsut went str8 ahead to making a perfect variable and just releasing the 1/100 for some money on the side. After all a VF-0A would be easy to make and even that hasnt been seen yet. I would hope that i am right and that they ditched plans for a full 1/100 line and went str8 ahead to a bigger perfect variable. AND BTW I got a MPC roy VF-1S Mint in BOx at gamestopp for 9.99$ If you want an MPC over this go to gamestop some stores got them since they werent selling well and are trying to clear them out from suppply, and they are delisted. SO with that the price was 19./99 but due to delisting it was 50% off.

estimated MSRP was 4000 yen . The toy is cheap compared to the other valkyrie toys yamato makes.

I just thought of something. Being that yamato usually shows a lot of stuff at shizouka, abnd there is no other VF-0 variant or SV-51 shown yet by yamato, I think the 1/100 is really just for cheap thrills and that yamato may have already knew the 1/100 sucked but is releasing it anyways since the molds are already done and they want to make a few bones. With that in mind, I think yamato has probably already started designing the VF-0 and SV-51 perfect variables. It always seemed weird to me why the VF-0S 1/100 was not really spotlighted much and was mainly shown in battroid mode in shows WITH NO other macross 0 toys to accompany it. Not even a resin proto. And by this time I think we would hav at least seena proto for a VF-0A....since all it needed was a different head. So perhaps yamato is working behind the scenes scul[pting the perfect variables for release earlier than x mas like i usually say. and perhaps kawamori forgave the horrible sculpt of the 1/100 since he knew something better could come later. It is wishful thinking, its either this or bandai gives a chunky monkey phoenix to us./ But I think I could be right. After all, it doesn't really seem like yamatyo even cares for their 1/100 toy.

Removeable hands for god's sake! NO valkyrie aside the kaiyodo EVER needed hand removal for transformation! See if this thing was almost all idecast and ABS then fine I understand the tradeoff but PVC? I used to be a defender of this toy but now..... guys ever notice that a lot of peolpe who said they would buy it 4 months ago dont even want to go near the thing now? I think its almost unanimous fans from the globe and japan have united against a common hindrance to our nations and planet itself, no not the zentran, the yammie VF-0! Shhhhuku Desu! Berryyy Legg jointuuu!!! those hips sure look bulbasauric . If no perfect variable is made then they hav disgraced the macross 0 series and the license nmineswell go to bandai. it would be stupid to judge possibility of a larger perfect variable on sales of this toy since i basically dont see it selling very well at all. Cripple leg VF11's sales probably wont be beat buy this soft thing.

hey graham, adding on to yopur comment with the CG models, did you notice in the scan you just added to the model section, the CG VF-0S is now buffer and dare I say, CHUNKIER? SOmehow that seems cool to me. man maybe bandai planned this SHi* all along. WAiting till yamato freaked up kinda bad, to move in for the kill. Hell all of us are so dissapointed we would even like a cchunky monkey VF-0 more. Crap to me thats a dream come true. chunky durability is king!

damn it. I love the VF-0 design but this toy really dont do it justice it deserves. I wonder what the hell happened to flex nishikawa san. After turning up the 1/48 I know graham mentioned he was no longetr designing the fast packs for it since he was slow and some other dude was. SInce nishikawa takes histime and churns out a great product(its obvious he didnt even touch this sculpt) I think it would be wise for yamato to lock him in a cave in isolation for 6 months and churn a VF-=0 perfect variable by him for x mas release. this 1/100 has many things working against it. here are a few 1-parts swap is decent but THAT many parts? Recent gundam FIX got less part swaps. Even the notorious zeta based zeta plus got less and we all know how beast the transformation on anyh zeta is hard to get down right. 2-the front gear. What the hell. BIlly wong sculpted more beter proportioned gear on the first yammie YF19! 3-THe aesthetics in general. Sure its decent but flawed. MPC has a better profile in fighter mode than this thing with its high ass landing gear that can impale roy during a heavy landing. Yamato seems to be doing some more PVC, ideon comes to mind. perhaps the same team designed that as well. Compared to what usual;ly copmes out from yamato, this sculpt seems real amaturish. Let alone I wonder, would kawamori even approve this before release? And if he DID, good god man what the f*** happened? *edit. With this many small parts I think a tacklebox might work too*

I say scrap the line entirely after the VF-0S 1/100 comes out, tempt fans witha shadow image of a perfect variable, release a full blown resin proto gallery by septermber, and have a big ass perfect variable ready by x mas. By then macross 0 will be done and perhaps plans for a movie condensed version could be made. At that point fans would be hungry for something and yea it would be worth the weight. I now think that the team who started sculpting the votoms kits switched places with tthe guys who are supposed to do a perfect variable VF-0. But since the votom basically dissapeared from the minds of many fans yamato switched the teams and decided"ah yes let us let this expert team sculpt that big ass soldier mecha first then sculpt our perfect variable later.and let them improve this sculpt over them darn newbies., then let tbhe newbies screw up the VF-0S 1/100 kuz yes it does indeed the suck." IF the quality of these is below that of gundam fix(HOLY CRAP I JUST NOTICED EVEN THE ZETA PLUS GUNDAM FIX SENTINEL REQUIRES LESS PART SWAP TO TRANSFORM GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY NOW IM REAL PISSED) and without tamnpo, then this will suck. somehow a bandai VF-0 with HUGE abnormallyu large swqingbars is more appealing than this thing. for a guy whos a engineer and designer first, kawamori's got some damn good drawing skill. It is amazing how he can draw a lot of his planes in perfect proportions.*check design works* If you cant draw theres no way in hell you can draw planes that good, so while he is a designer engineer first, i can say for certain he has a decent amount of skill in drawing and is damn well good at it. I wil never say he is the worlds greatest anime illustrator but for what he does hes got damn good skill.

I doubt that. This is yamato we are talking about here. It takes a year to design toys and by the time the first 1/60 hit I am sure the 1/48 was already being designed. Yamato made their mark starting with perfect vqariable toys and will probably end the same way as well. To be honest.... I am beginning to think yamato really doesn't care for this toy. I mean look at it. Cheap price but its like a kaiyodo. We all know with yamato its either perfect variable or MINIMAL part swap. with this its like a puzzle. I bet they passed this onto a newbie design team and are saving all their resources for a bigger perfect variable. I mean look at it. Do you think yamato cares for this toy? I am beginning to think they don't.

for the record, even bandai's more accurate 1/100 fire valk kit has LESS parts swapping than this toy. And the VF19 is notorious for it's transformation method. Meh. Things were okay UNTIL i saw the seperate arm crap.

yes and now that I think about it, this thing really does look like it transforms similar to the variable kaiyodo VF-1. I mean heck it's got just as many swap parts! I want to see how big it is next to a VF-1 1/60/. If it is at least close to that size I might consider getting this.

wow. Damn thats more swap parts than I thought! mehhhhhhhhhh. Oh well since it's cheap I guess it s understandable but the fact that almost the whole thing has to be rearranged with NMUMEROUS pieces being swapped out leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Leg attaching in battroid is much better than the 1/60 VF-1 toy. But all those parts to remove? Man I thought it was just removing the legs. swap out nose, attach legs, reattach head. Now we have removeable arms and whole entire backpack now too? meh. Least its cheap though and it looks good. but those are the only saving graces.

I know they sell a bunch of gundam and dragonball stuff so who knows it could be in SM> EIther that or try the megamalls., usually you will find small stands where people sell anime stuff. Comics seem to be kind of big there. Anyhoo best of luck and if you will be in manila anyways definitely check out SM and the megamalls.

THe whole notion started when a japanese fan customized a 1/48 into a low viz UN air force valkyrie. Kawamori loved it and yamato made a variation with low viz skull squadron markings. I am thinkint they didn't think it would sell all that well so they made less than 2,500(last tiome i remember it was somewhere around that number) but it did. ad for putting fast packls. Thats all up to you. I dont think yamato would care whether you do or not its all up to you the buyer. to me if it looks cool its going on. the pilot is macross 0 based but i think they just did that because the paint scheme is traditional military looking and the pilot suits in macross 0 ar emore traditional looking pilot suits as well.
